ANW's Savory Sunday

How do you find peace and protection?

You will find peace and protection, and much more, through prayer; and when you do, you enter a place that "will guard your [heart] and your [mind] in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:7).

In order to heal my whole being, I gave it all to God. And for having done so, He took my frailties and insecurities and transformed them in to strengths and confidences, because prayer and meditation revealed "whatever things are true", "noble", "just", "pure", "lovely", "good", and "praiseworthy" (4:8).

So, if you would like "the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, [to] guard your [heart] and [mind] in Christ Jesus" (4:7), might you, too, reach out to Him in prayer. #GiveItToGod & #LetItGo

ANW's Soulful Saturday

How much family can you handle?

Family can be hard; but it can also be wonderful to have when you need someone that you can lean on, talk to, or confide in.

Aside from my biological and married family, I, also, have a spiritual one that helps me with things that my other family members cannot. Filling me up, each and every day, with love and goodness, is God; and I am most grateful and blessed to call him family.

So, if you would like to continue to grow your family, might you, too, consider becoming one of "God's children" (Romans 8:16). He would love to adopt you in "to sonship" (8:15) and have you call him "Abba, Father" (8:15). #TheMoreTheMerrier

ANW's Fruitful Friday

How do you fight injustice(s)?

Life does not fight fair, as it throws a lot of punches, even dirty ones by "those who are evil" (Psalm 37:9) and "wicked" (37:7).

I took a lot of low blows, head butts, and body shots, most of my Nursing career, due to Incivility; and the last blow caused a stress-induced heart attack that almost left me down for the count. Now, out of the ring, for the last seven years, I have been learning how to defend myself against any cross, jab, or hook, as I do "not fret" (37:7); remain still before the LORD"; and "wait patiently for him" (37:9), because I know that one day, "those who are evil will be destroyed" (37:9).

So, if you want to be able to defend yourself, might you, too, consider practicing being calm, still, and patient, because when you are you "will inherit the land" (37:9). #KOAllInjustices

ANW's Thoughtful Thursday

What team do you play for?

It takes just the right chemistry to win games; and the winning team is one that has heart, and is blessed with being "poor in spirit" (Matthew 5:3) aka humble; "hunger and thirst for righteousness" (5:6) aka doing what is right and good; and are "peacemakers" (5:9) aka work together as one. And, without these kind of players it is difficult to win, as many teams have players, or just one player, who only play for themselves.

I played professionally, Team Nursing, for almost thirty years; and in those thirty years, I played ball with a great deal of selfish players, not teammates. Most of them played dirty and stepped on anyone to get ahead. Trying to be a team player almost got me killed, because the behaviors were allowed and tolerated by the General Managers, GMs.

Fortunately, I now play on a new team, The Beautitudes, God's team. Our uniforms represent Him, "The Lord Jesus Christ" (Romans 13:14); and we win every day, because we all play with heart and are humble, grateful, kind, caring, loving, giving, patient, transparent, helpful, supportive, good, present, focused, happy, strong, confident, honest, and have integrity.

So, if you are on a team that is struggling to win, might reconsider the franchise that you are playing for and seek one that has a winning combination. #TeamHeart #NeverLoses

ANW's Wisdom Wednesday

What friend can you call at any time?

A friend is "a trustworthy person [who] keeps a secret" (Proverbs 11:13), gives "heartfelt advice" (27:9 NIV), does not "wear out [their] welcome" (25:17 NLT), and will pick up any hour of the day.

Aside from the Lord, who considers us all his "friends" (John 15:15), I am blessed with another, my husband. He, too, for 29 years, has stood by my side and helped me with anything and everything that I need; and can call on him, like I do God, 24/7, and know they will answer me. I am most grateful for being blessed with two great faithful and forever friends.

So, if you are still searching for such a friend, might you consider getting to know who I am getting to know better with each day, God; because when someone is willing to "lay down [their] life for [their] friends" (15:13), there is no better one to have. #ATrueFriend

ANW's Takeaway Tuesday

What shakes you?

When being oppressed by "the wicked" (Psalm 55:3), it is understandable to become overwhelmed with "fear and trembling" ( 55:5).

Aside from David (see 55:2-5), I, too, became engulfed with "the noise of the enemy" (55:3), because of trying to help improve my work environment. Through the troubles the enemy dropped on me (see 55:3), "my heart" suffered, leaving an impending doom of "death" that "[had] fallen upon me" (55:4). Thankfully, we both put our "trust in [God]" (55:23 NIV), because we know that "He cares for those who trust in him" (Nahum 1:7) and "will never let the righteous be shaken" (Psalm 55:22)

So, if you need to "cast all your anxieties" ( 1 Peter 5:7) and "cares" (Psalm 55:22) or find a "refuge in times of trouble" (Nahum 1:7), then might you, too, "call to God" (Psalm 55:16) so He can "sustain you" (55:22). #YourBurdenBearer #Unshakeable

ANW's Meaningful Monday

What do you choose to see?

You see what you want to see, even the unseen.

Nursing continues to be one of the unseens in a seen world. I know this, because I dedicated my professional career to being a Nurse and Nurse Educator, and many of those years trying to create a healthy work environment, in a toxic one, until the The "Lord, took up my case; [and] redeemed my life" (Lamentations 3:58) with a stress-induced heart attack, Takosubo Cardiomyopathy aka a Broken Heart, from the years of constant Incivility.

Now, after 7 years, I continue my fight and boldly ask all Nurses to acknowledge and see what is still going on in their seen but unseen profession and "look around to see" and ask yourselves: "Is it nothing to you?" and "Is any suffering like [your] suffering?" (1:12).

So, if you want better, you need to become seen, because if you do not, you will always remain unseen. #QuitIgnoringYourself & #BeSeen

ANW's Savory Sunday

How do you respond to injustice(s)?

It takes a great deal of self-preservation and restraint to not retaliate at those who create and cause injustice(s), and then want to make "a spectacle [of you] to the whole universe" (1 Corinthians 4:9) for doing good.

Being "made a spectacle" (4:9) came when trying to create a healthy work environment within Nursing Academia. Fortunately, "when...hurled [with] insults" (1 Peter 2:23) aka incivility, [I] did not retaliate" or make "threats"; but "entrusted" The Lord to "[judge] justly" (2:23), just like Jesus did when he suffered.

So, when faced with injustice(s) and you find yourself wanting to retaliate against others who "[make] a spectacle" (4:9) of you, might you remember that He will "[judge] justly" (2:23).

ANW's Soulful Saturday

What keeps you safe from the storms?

Storms have a way of showing up, unexpectedly; and when they do, it helps to have a place to go and receive shelter.

Many storms have blown through, and I have had to seek shelter. One of my biggest storms ended in a stress induced heart attack, after many years of fighting for better in Nursing. Since that fateful day, "The LORD [has been my] fortified tower" (Proverbs 18:10); and I "run to it", every day, even when there is not a storm, because I know that I will always be "safe" (18:10).

So, if you are in need of shelter, might you, too, consider doing the same. #TheSafestPlaceInTheWorld

ANW's Fruitful Friday

How do you use your God-given gifts?

Gifts are not meant to be wasted, but shared by "[serving] others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms" (1 Peter 4:10).

God granted me the ability to care, as a Nurse, and educate others, as a Nurse Educator, for almost 30 years. And, now, after suffering a heart attack, I serve in another, yet similar, capacity, as a warrior for wellness, through a book, daily inspiration, and seasoned heart filled products.

So, whether your gift is "a message of wisdom" or "knowledge" (1 Corinthians 12:8), "faith" or "healing" (12:9), "miraculous powers", "prophecy", "distinguishing between spirits", "speaking in different kinds of tongues", or "the interpretation of tongues" (12:10), may you use them for "the common good" (12:7). #BlessOthers & #HonorHim #WithYourGifts
