What do you seek when you read something?

If your response is answers, the Bible is a great place to begin. Like other literature, the Bible can also be difficult to read and understand; but if you read and study the Bible on a consistent basis, you will find the answers that you are looking for. Billy Graham and Jeremiah chose to seek the Bible for answers too, and when they did, Jeremiah "ate them" and said that "they were [his] joy and heart's delight" (15:16). Cozy up with your next best read. You will always find the answers, when you seek real wisdom. #abestseller

How genuine are you, especially your actions?

James helps us to see the importance of our actions in relation to our faith. He poses the question: "What good is it," when we tell a brother and sister, "without clothes and daily food," to " 'go in peace; keep warm and well fed,' [and] do[es] nothing about their physical needs?" (2:15-16). It is when we actually do something, not by words, but actions, to help those in need that demonstrate our genuineness and faith. #payitforward

How can you make a difference in the lives of others?

We each have the ability, no matter how large or small, to make a difference in the lives of others when we extend a helping hand, just as God did. We are told that "God's grace was so powerfully at work in them all that there were no needy persons among them" (Acts 4:33-34). When we willingly give, from the heart, of ourselves for those who truly need help, we become part of a greater purpose and something very special, "one in heart and mind" (4:32). #livegracefully

How do we handle things that happen in our lives, especially when they don't make sense?

Job might be able to teach us a thing or two about living upright in the midst of life's reoccurring problems and troubles. Despite Job's many setbacks and tragedies he remained "blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil" (1:1); and when his wife tried to counsel him she told him to "curse God and die!" (2:9). Job's response was: " 'Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?' In all this, Job did not sin in what he said" (2:10). No matter what, Job reminds us to remain steadfast and true. #LiveALifeOfJob

How big is your love?

Love is sacrifice; and to understand such a sacrifice is Jesus himself. God sent his one and only son, from heaven, to earth, to serve and then die for us. "Though he was rich, yet for [our] sake he became poor" (2 Corinthians 8:9). So, the next time there is an opportunity to "excel in this grace and giving" (8:7), remember what He sacrificed for you and me. #truelove

Who do you listen to?

Listening is an extremely important skill to possess and even more so who we choose to have listen to us, because it is who we allow to listen that has the potential to influence our thinking and choices. Therefore, the next time you need someone to listen, consider "listen[ing] to what God the Lord says" (Psalm 85:8). When you do so, you will have His undivided attention and help in every possible way. #knowyouraudience

How important is your future?

Each one of us are invited to live, one day, in eternity, with Him. In order to get there, we are reminded that the gate is small and "the road that leads to life" is narrow, "and only a few find it" (Matthew 7:14). It is my hope that you begin a personal relationship with Him and are one of the few who does find it. #vestinginyourfuture

How important is it to be disciplined?

To be disciplined is to be loved and cared for by another; and not about trying to demean or make us feel bad about ourselves. Having discipline, in our lives, is to help us become a better person. The next time discipline is involved, we are told, by Proverbs, not to "despise the Lord's discipline" (3:11). Instead, embrace and feel blessed knowing that there are others out there that care enough about you to say something. #acknowledge & #accept

How limited or limitless is your love?

We have the ability to love unconditionally and endlessly to all people, no matter who they are. If we choose to do so, "we know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death" (1 John 3:14). Consider living a life filled with love. #lovealways

What, in this life, is worth fighting for?

Much goes on in life that is not right; and when an issue is identified by someone who wants to make it right, they become labeled very quickly as a trouble maker. For those very few and brave people who are willing to stand up and risk their own safety for the good of others and to fight for what is right, Amos reminds us to "let
justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!" (Amos 5:24). Never be sorry or afraid for getting into some "good trouble," righteous, nonviolent trouble. #worthyoftrouble
