Daily Meditations of a Nurse Warrior
How many people do you know, including yourself, are willing to take back or continue to put up with those who bring heartache, abandonment, or other hurtful actions towards yourself and others?
Unfortunately, most people are unwilling to change for the better; but, amazing enough, we are shown, in Hosea, that those who chose to behave in such ways, He is still "will[ing] [to] heal their waywardness" and promises to "love them freely" (14:4). Whether it be others or ourselves, we are given the opportunity to "dwell again in his shade," to heal these behaviors, because of His amazing grace and eternal love for us. Once we do, we will "flourish like the grain" and "blossom like the vine" (14:7). #strivetobeabetterperson

How do you react to society’s diversity? God created an array of individuals; and in doing so, he “does not show favoritism” (Acts 10:34). In knowing this, you might consider reevaluating your perspectives of others; because no matter who it is, it is not right for us to “call anyone impure or unclean” (10:28). Until proven otherwise, consider choosing to treat others with fairness and love. #StriveForEquity❤️#ANWAdvocatingForHealthyLivesHomesAndWorkEnvironments

Tragedies can leave us overwhelmed, lost, disoriented, and confused. When they do, consider reaching out to Psalm. Psalm says to “send me your light in your faithful care, let them lead me” (43:3). When we do, He will give us the tools to guide us through each and every difficult situation. #BeRenewed & #RestoreYourHopeAndJoy❤️#ANWAdvocatingForHealthyLivesHomesAndWorkEnvironments

Consider asking yourself the following question, especially when in need. "Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead?" (Luke 11:11). As you contemplate your response, you really only have one option, because there are very few people who are truly willing to help you. These "real friends" may say that they will help you, but when it comes down to it they are no where to be found. Instead, confidently consider reaching out to someone, Him, who will help you with your every need. Both His words and actions speak volumes. #whocanyoucounton

How are we to learn and grow, if we do not listen?
We all have our thoughts and opinions, some more than most, on many things. With having these thoughts and opinions, we also need to consider being respectful and do our due diligence to listen to others whether we agree with them or not; because when we do, we learn and grow from these different perspectives. Therefore, the next time we want to give our thoughts and opinions and engage with others, we need to "be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry" (James 1:19). #twocentsworth OR #meaningfulconversations

What does Home mean to you?
Home is much more than just a house; it is a feeling of comfort, contentment, a sense of belonging, a place where our heart belongs. No matter where we are, even if "exiled...at the farthest horizon" (Nehemiah 1:9), we can always be home, especially when we choose to be with Him. #HeartHomeAndHim

How many times have you said or heard someone else say that life is not fair?
From my experience, many; and you know what, the statement will continue to be made, especially by those who do not believe. Since Adam and Eve, we have all suffered, because of their one mistake. We are all collateral damage, just as the animals that were slaughtered and skinned when "the Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them" (Genesis 3:21), because they were ashamed of their nakedness.
Even though this happened, God has since restored all who believe in Him by sacrificing His Son (see Romans 5:17-19). So, the next time you consider saying or listening to someone that says life is not fair, you might reconsider using those words and share His sacrifice with those who question life's fairness. #thinkbeforeyouspeak

Loss can be difficult and devastating; but, at the same time, can also be a blessing. As we encounter and deal with our loss, Paul provides those who believe with hope by saying: “We do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope (1 Thessalonians 4:13). It is my hope that you take comfort in knowing that your loss is temporary and that one day you will be reunited with your loved ones. #UntilThen❤️#ANWAdvocatingForHealthyLivesHomesAndWorkEnvironment

How do you deal with being degraded, humiliated, told you are not good enough or will never amount to anything? Unfortunately, our society is filled with negativity; but in the same manner we don’t have to take or accept it either. When we are faced with such ugliness, Proverbs helps us to understand that “every word of God is flawless; [and that] he is a shield to those who take refuge in him” (30:5). In knowing this, we can persevere and withstand whatever comes our way, because He will protect us through it all. #AlwaysBeBetter & #ShowThem❤️#NWAdvocatingForHealthyLivesHomesAndWorkEnvironments
