Daily Meditations of A Nurse Warrior
How do you deal with being degraded, humiliated, told you are not good enough or will never amount to anything? Unfortunately, our society is filled with negativity; but in the same manner we don’t have to take or accept it either. When we are faced with such ugliness, Proverbs helps us to understand that “every word of God is flawless; [and that] he is a shield to those who take refuge in him” (30:5). In knowing this, we can persevere and withstand whatever comes our way, because He will protect us through it all. #AlwaysBeBetter & #ShowThem❤️#NWAdvocatingForHealthyLivesHomesAndWorkEnvironments

What are you doing to make your life, the world, a better place? Whatever it may be, we are urged to “make every effort to add to our faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge…self-control, perseverance…godliness (2 Peter 1:5-7); and if we choose to do so, He will empower us in our efforts. #LastingContributions❤️#ANWAdvocatingForHealthyLivesHomesAndWorkEnvironments

How well do you communicate with others and Him?
Communication is vital to our well-being; and when it becomes hindered, by doubt or relationship problems, (see James 1:5-7; 1 Peter 3:7), it blocks our relationship with Him and those we interact with and surround ourselves by. Therefore, when you decide to reopen the lines of communication, with others and Him, consider His instructions. He says, "when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive your sins" (Mark 11:25). #keeptheconversationgoing & #removethesin

Where does your wisdom come from?
You have two possible options. If you are lucky enough, the first option is your parents. Spoken and written by one of the wisest men of his time, (1 Kings 10:23), Solomon says to "listen when your father corrects you; [and] don't neglect your mother's instruction; [because] what you learn from them will crown you with grace and be a chain of honor around your neck" (Proverbs 1:8-9 NLT). If option one is not possible, the other is God. When you seek His ways and fear him, he will provide you with the foundation of true knowledge (see 1:7). #2wiseoptions

What does the Lord's Prayer mean to you?
As a little girl, I learned how to pray the Lord's Prayer, with my Dad, every night before bed. Now, grown, I continue to pray, each night and sometimes during the day, the same Lord's Prayer, along with a few extra prayers and requests that I have added on over the years. Having learned this very powerful prayer, at such a young age, I value it more than I ever have, now that I can truly appreciate what it means and can do for me.
In saying this, I, too, want you to also know what it means to have a Father and pray, especially if you have never had the opportunity to have one and be able to do so. Romans reassures us that when we pray the Lord's Prayer we all have a Father because "the Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children" (8:16).
As you consider Him, as a father, and the Lord's Prayer, so that you can pray, know that he is ready to receive you with open arms so that he can love, care, and be there for you always, just like he is for me. #thepowerofprayer

A writer, I am not; but a believer, I am. My daily meditations, to you, as A Nurse Warrior, is "my message and my preaching...not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power" (1 Corinthians 2:4). By speaking the truth, without fear and reluctance, His words enable me to share these daily truths that help us to focus on living well; and it is my wish that you are able to do so through them. Consider embracing His word, the truth, and live your best possible life. #letthetruthsetyoufree & #livewell

In whom do you trust? When you place your trust in something or someone, other than a relationship with God, you risk much. Regardless of your choices, "the Lord longs to be gracious to you" (Isaiah 30:18); and if you turn to him for help, he says: "In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength" (30:15). Consider trusting Him. "Blessed are all who wait for him!" (30:18). #InGodWeTrust & #GodBlessAmerica

How often do you wash your hands, along with your heart, in order to keep them clean? Washing away dirt, along with sin, is constant, and there is no way of getting around it. Being clean, both inside and out, goes hand in hand.
When we, as sinners, "come near to God...he will come near to you" and "purify your hearts" (James 4:8). As we clean and cleanse ourselves, we are advised to "grieve, mourn, and wail. Change [our] laughter to mourning, and [our] joy to gloom. Humble [ourselves] before the Lord, and he will lift [us] up" (4:9-10).

How faithful are you? Whether it be a job, relationship, or friendship, the possibility of betrayal always looms because of its conscious nature; just as it was when Jesus was sacrificed for our sins (see 1 John 4:9-10). It is when we keep "the ways of the Lord" (Psalm 18:21-24), and live faithfully, just as Jesus did, we too show ourselves faithful (18:25) and reap the benefits. #faithfulinallthings

As we rush through life, being pulled in every direction and checking our to-do-lists, we have a tendency to miss some of the most important things in our lives and most likely will never get back. Just like rushing through life, prayer, has a similar premise, when rushed. Whether it be in life or prayer, we are prompted to "be still and know" (Psalm 46:10). When we do slow down, pause, and take a breath, we are able to take in and savor those fleeting life moments to the very fullest, along with time in prayer with Him. #bestill #breathe & #dontmissit
