Behind the Scenes of a Photo Shoot

When I was in college I was working as a freelance fashion stylist in Atlanta. Shortly after I graduated, I started my own company producing photo shoots for various clients like magazines and print catalogs. It was a really fun experience and I miss the collaborative outings of those creative photo shoots. Thankfully, I still get to dabble in it every now and again. This time though I was asked to model for my friend Alisha of LISH Creative after Forme Comfort thought my legs would look good for some of their photos. Plus I was able to lend some of my chalk lettering skills as well. It was such a fun day!

Hustle & Heart Now in Our Shop+ Free Print + Zinia's Under The Sea Layout
Happy Friday! If you're an email subscriber, be sure to check your email as we have a FREE DIGITAL PRINT for you I'm so excited to have launched Hustle & Heart in our shop and I whipped up an exclusive design!
Hello everyone! It’s Zinia here and today I want to share with you another layout I created featuring the fun and colorful Hustle & Heart collection designed by Amy.

I am madly in love with this collection and all the bright and whimsical designs that it features. The patterns are so inspiring that in many cases it’s so easy to base a whole page on just the beautiful papers of this collection.

For this layout I started with the beautiful patchwork paper and I cut out all the areas that had blue and orange patterns. I used three different sizes of circle punches to create a bunch of bubbles.

The main idea was to create a scenery that gives an impression of an underwater scape. For the top and the bottom of the page I fussy-cut strips of other patterns to create an impression of ground and sky/ocean.

I kept the embellishing part fairly simple using a few color coordinating items like my absolute favorite suede bows, puffy hearts and a few clear stickers.

Stickers + Watercolors

How clever is this layout by DT member Zinia? Love the watercolor circles (which she calls blobs) with our stickers from the Sticker Book on top of the fun splotches. Sometimes we over complicate things, but this is so inspiring and lovely. If you have a Hobby Lobby near you, be sure to go and grab yours today!

When All Your Sticker Dreams Come True

Growing up one of my favorite things to collect were stickers. In fact, I managed to stick them everywhere yet also hoard them too. Now I make it a point to really use my favorite supplies instead of saving them. So excited about these sticker books which are really like a best hits of our favorite stickers from our most recent collections. Although to be honest, the photo of me on the packaging isn't ideal, as it's a jumping shot from my Instagram profile, but it just looks like my hair is doing something funny (HAHA), I am SO pleased with the stickers and cannot wait to show you a video flip through of it this weekend!

Here's a little sneak peek of a project in my traveler's notebook where I printed the photo with my Prynt Pocket. Excited to collect more of these books as mine alone has nearly 1500 stickers in it! My plan is to stick them on my planner pages, scrapbook layouts and of course more traveler's notebooks. I'll share more soon, but in the mean time would love to see if you've found these sticker books at a store near you - let me know!

Happy Halloween + a little behind the scenes

If you're following along on Instagram, you probably already saw on Stories (I love and don't love that they disappear within 24 hours) that I had a cute little assistant helping behind the scenes of this photo shoot. I had it all set up in the kitchen where there is excellent and even natural light on most days. After doing some variations, I left it set up in case it needed further tweaking, but I had to pick Jack up from preschool. Once we got home, it was one of the first things he noticed and he said, "I want to help you do your work." Love that he is genuinely interested in what I need to do for work sometimes and that he can actually be a little assistant every once in a while.

I lettered this using my latest paint obsession - Dr. Ph Martin's Watercolors. This XL watercolor pad that's 18x24 inches has really come in handy for the larger scale projects I have been working on. Hope you enjoyed this little peek into what goes on.
Violeta's Thank You Layout
Hello everyone! I am Violeta Scrap and I am delightful to come back to Amy Tangerine’s blog to show you one of the first Layouts that I have made with her new collection “Hustle & Heart” combined with elements from the collection “On a Whim”.

To create this Layout, I have used as a base for the project a paper with a simple design. I have added some transparent stickers around the pictures to create the composition. I have used different transparent stickers from the collection “On a Whim” because they are very colorful.
It is great, undoubtedly, to combine different collections from Amy Tangerine, because the colors combine fantastically.

Moreover, I have used the words “Thank you” from the Thickers as a title for my project, accompanied with a chipboard from the collection “On a Whim”.
I have enjoyed so much to combine both of these elements because the result is quite funny in this Layout.

As a decorative element, I have used some mini enamel dots of different colors in different areas of the project, placing them randomly.

Lastly, on the left side of the project, I cut a small piece of paper and placed a piece of a flowered patterned paper, to create more contrast in this project.
I hope that this project will be useful for you as a source of inspiration for your Scrap projects; and I also hope that you make the most of your transparent stickers from the different Amy Tangerine’s collections.

Our visit to the Pumpkin Patch!
Growing up, I always loved Halloween. Most of the excitement was built around getting dressed up in costume, going trick-or-treating, and most importantly, eating ALL the candy. Though our family didn’t have traditions like going to the pumpkin patch or carving pumpkins (can you believe I carved my first pumpkin in my thirties?!), now as a mom, after my birthday on the 5th, it’s full on Halloween mode. JC’s birthday falls on the 26th and he is really into Halloween. Since we moved into our house and had Jack, JC has made it a priority to make the holiday really special for us all.
We just got a few more pumpkins and plan on carving them a few days before Halloween - the hot weather in LA doesn’t bode well for the survival of the carved creations. In years past, I have taken plenty of pictures, but I really wanted to document Jack going to the pumpkin patch in his adorable PAW Patrol Marshall costume this year.

As you may have seen in this blog post, we got a head start on celebrating Halloween this year with the PAW Patrol Pumpkin Push-In Kits. This time, Jack decided to dress up as Marshall from one of his favorite shows, PAW Patrol. He was all too excited about the fact that his costume (only at Target) talks and says some of Marshall’s favorite phrases like, “I’m fired up!” I also couldn’t resist ordering some costumes for our pups too. Bamboo was content dressing up as Skye while Buster decided to go as Chase. As we got ready, Jack played with his set of PAW Patrol Pirate Pups Plush toys, PAW Patrol Pirate Pups Action Pack Gift Set figurines, and his PAW Patrol Pirate Pups - Pirate Vehicles and set them up to bring them along to the pumpkin patch. Our house has become Adventure Bay!

He was a little sad that Buster and Bamboo couldn’t join our little outing to our favorite pumpkin patch, Mr. Bones. However, he was excited to bring the PAW Patrol Pirate Pups Plush along. We met up with our friend Harper, who was dressed as Shine from another Nickelodeon favorite, Shimmer and Shine!
Jack smiled when he saw her and said, “Mama, I seen that show before. I like it.” It was so cute watching him make the Marshall costume talk numerous times for Harper. She also gave the Skye PAW Patrol Pirate Pup Plush a super cute hug and kiss as soon as she saw it. Harper is a huge PAW Patrol fan too! There were so many adorable moments at the pumpkin patch. Here are some highlights from our awesome adventure. You can also see it all unfold in the video below and catch the exclusive talking feature in Jack’s new favorite costume!

They had so much fun at the petting zoo and running around in their costumes. Between the excitement the kids enjoyed snacking on PAW Patrol Fruit Snacks - lots of them. You can check out the way Jack and I documented the pre-Halloween fun in under 30 minutes in my traveler’s notebook.
Would love to hear if you have fun Halloween or pumpkin patch traditions in the comments!
You can snag your very own PAW Patrol Halloween costumes with sound, along with PAW Patrol Pirate Pups plush, PAW Patrol Pirate Pups - Pirate Vehicle Set and more only at Target!

Zinia's Pocket Page Diary
Hey there! It’s Zinia back with another fun project using Amy’s amazing Hustle & Heart collection with American Crafts.
So today I decided to use the beautiful bits of Hustle & Heart in my pocket page diary. Now I guess you are wondering, what on earth is a pocket page diary? Well I really love the project life pocket system but I’m in no way able to keep up with weekly or even monthly spreads. So instead, I use the system like a diary to store my favorite photos, memorabilia, thoughts and pretty much anything you would put in a diary.

When it comes to pocket spreads I honestly never have a plan. That sometimes can be a problem but with these beautiful products everything came together effortlessly. First I went through the cut apart sheets and grabbed a few 3x4 and 3x3 cards I liked. Then I started spreading them on my page until I was happy with what I had.
To turn my 3x3 cards into 3x4s I used some pattern paper scraps and branding strips to add at the top and the bottom to extend their size.

I really love using the Hustle & Heart sticker book in pocket page spreads cause they are nice and flat and they don’t add extra bulk in the pockets. On top of that I just love layering them on my photos.

To fill in some empty areas, I brought in a few items from the On a Whim collection. Although the color palettes of the two collections are significantly different, they still work beautifully together and they complement each other.
