My FabFitFun Art Kit!
Guess what?! I partnered with FabFitFun on the amazing Ready, Set, Create! Art Kit, which is a Choice item in some FabFitFun Summer Boxes.

I was so excited when FabFitFun asked me to help curate a kit and go into the development process of really making sure this art kit was great for everybody. We picked out really fun, bright colors for the acrylic paints and a canvas size that’s not too intimidating. The tools were really important to me so we picked my favorite size paint brush as well as the high quality round foam brush.

I thought that these kits would be perfect for hosting your own art party with a bunch of friends, so I also shared some of my best art party tips over on the FabFitFun blog!

This box is filled with $200+ worth of beauty, fashion, and lifestyle goodies that I know you’re going to love! Use the code AMYTANGERINE10 for $10 off your first box at fabfitfun!

Newest Collection - Hustle & Heart!
So excited to share a peek at my newest collection with American Crafts, Hustle & Heart. It's hard to believe but this is the 13th one we have collaborated on. Hopefully that's a lucky number in this scenario. I just got a first look at it, as the samples only arrived last week. Looking forward to playing with it and sharing projects with you soon. Also, I filmed a little first look/unboxing video of sorts that I am hoping to get up next week.

Hope you like what you see so far. Let me know in the comments what kind of project you'd like me to share using this collection!

Carson's Wild Weekend Mini Album

Hello hello, my crafty friends! I’m so excited to share my latest little project with you all. This mIni album was so much fun to put together using all my photos and memories from a recent family reunion and bits and pieces from Amy’s two latest collections, On A Whim and Oh Happy Life!

One of the things I love about using Amy’s collections is that they all have a similar vibe, so even though the color stories and icons may be different, they mix and match so beautifully with one another. I just love how those white foam phrases from her earlier collection contrast so perfectly with that bright ombre pink paper from On A Whim.

I decided to create an oversized hang tag mini for this project as I didn’t want to fuss with an actual album, but I did want to have a lot of room and flexibility to create as many pages as possible. There are a lot of photos and stories from this particular weekend that I wanted to be sure and document. I also wanted enough room to use the larger embellishments like the foam phrases and that wicked blue USA Sticker, so I had to scale it up.

The pages were a snap to decorate. I simply, laid down the photo, embellished each page with a few choice stickers and then typed out my journaling if there was a story to tell. Truth be told, sometimes it’s just a cute photo!

I wanted the front and back of the album to be cohesive, so I used similar supplies for a matchy matchy look. And once the album was complete, I had to find a way to jazz up that boring binder ring. And friends, this is why I keep a baggie full of ribbon scraps, for times just like these! I love the way the ribbons add a fun flair and texture to the mini, without getting in the way!

I hope you’re inspired to create your own mini album! You can’t go wrong mixing and matching Amy’s collections, so what are you waiting for?
Happy crafting, friends!

DIY PHOTO BACKDROP WITH FLOWERS AND BALLOONS!
Back in April, I hosted a party at Urbanic Paper Boutique and I knew that I wanted to have a super cute and colorful photo backdrop at the entrance! I had a bunch of ideas going into it including a watercolor floral design as my inspiration, so I gathered the materials, set up my camera, and got started.
To make this, I used a plain white backdrop with a stand, fabric markers (here are some black ones and some colorful ones), balloons, and I tried out a few ways to attach them together (string, fishing line, rubber cement, and a low heat glue gun).
When choosing a stand for your photo backdrop, consider the height you’ll want! This one is a little too short, but fine for sitting. If you need a taller one, try this 8 foot version! You could also try either a fabric backdrop or a paper backdrop depending on your needs.
Lay out the backdrop on the floor.Place something underneath to catch any ink that bleeds through. Iron out any folds in the fabric!
Draw flowers on the backdrop using fabric markers. If you want to learn to draw flowers and leaves, I can't recommend this book enough - it’s called Botanical Line Drawing.
Hang it up and add finishing touches. When you’re happy with your hand-drawn designs, set up the stand and hang your backdrop so you can get a better idea of how it will look.
Inflate your balloons, then tie the knotted parts together to form clusters.I tried out a bunch of different methods for this - stitching the tied ends with fishing line, gluing them together using rubber cement, tying them together with string, and using a low heat hot glue gun.
Optional: Add paper details to the clusters! We cut out a bunch of differently shaped paper grasses and flowers to test things out, but ended up choosing the plain green grasses and sticking them into the balloon clusters.
Set it up at your party.Once you’ve moved your backdrop to the location where you want it to be set up, tie the balloon clusters to the stand.

Pose and say cheese!
I pulled a bench in front so we could take seated photos at the entrance to the party.

Where would you set up a photo backdrop like this? Do you have any fun events coming up where a photo booth installation like this would look super cute? Tell me all about it in the comments!

Craftcation Conference 2017
Hey friends - sorry for the radio silence. My dear friend from college got married and I got to spend some time with family and good friends in Florida. It wasn't all relaxing and chill though, as we have been working extra hard to launch our shop site and it should be live very soon! I am so excited to share the fun things we have been working on!

As you may know, I’ve been to every single Craftcation since they started and I’m always excited to go back. Each year it just seems to get better, even though it's hard to see how they could. I got to teach classes, speak on panels, and meet tons of creative people while I was there per usual. This time I even got to sign books and sat next to someone I was trying not to fangirl over!

The Blue Romper I am wearing and always get compliments on is on sale here!
Tag along on my trip and see what we made together in my latest travel video! You might even recognize some familiar faces in the crafting world including Jenny Hart of Sublime Stitching, Twinkie Chan, and Robert Mahar.
The dates for 2018 are up, so mark your calendars!
Did you go to Craftcation too? Say hello in the comments! If not, tell me the last time you got creative with new friends.

When All Your Sticker Dreams Come True
OMG! As you know, I am crazy about stickers. Although the dream of designing them came true years ago, I recently had the pleasure of curating the Pipsticks June pack! (Spoiler alert - there's a 15% discount code at the bottom off any pack!) It's a secret that was hard to keep, as all the way back in January, the founder Maureen let me go through hundreds of packs of stickers to select my favorites. It was SOOOO difficult, but since she's curated 33 months, which breaks down to 66 packs, she helped me big time. We had so much fun putting this pack together and I even designed exclusives that can only be found in this kit!

We had one final meeting at my house which did not feel like work at all, as we put the finishing touches on what I hope is her most successful kit to date! Here's a little sneak peek and I plan on giving you the full reveal on video very soon!

And to top it all off there's a really big giveaway going on where one lucky winner will win my favorite things! An Instax Share printer (prints from your phone wirelessly onto Instax film), a watercolor set, my favorite waterbrush and of course a set of Tombow markers!

Zinia's Fun Tags and Floral Clusters Layout
Hello everyone, it’s Zinia (aka Abstract Inspiration) again to share with you another layout I created by mixing the two latest collections designed by Amy.

For this layout, I decided to mix two of my most favorite elements, tags and flowers. “Oh happy Life” collection has a package of gorgeous die-cut tags with stunning delicate designs. “On a Whim” includes a package of fun watercolor resist tags so I thought it would be really fun to mix them together.

I used some Faber-Castell gelatos and Pitt markers to color my resist tags and then I started building up my page. For my background, I used a subtle pattern paper design called “Ray of Light”. I arranged my tags as if they were hanging from an imaginary piece of thread and created a base for my flowers to sit on.
To build up my flower cluster I went through all the embellishments and picked every single flower. I mixed ephemera pieces from both collections, some clear stickers and also a ton of flowers I fussy cut from Oh Happy Life “Good Morning” pattern paper. This is definitely my most favorite paper from the collection cause you can create a ton of extra ephemera pieces by cutting out all the flowers.

To help my photo pop, I used a few pieces of pattern paper from On a Whim 6x6 Paper pad. The scaled down patterns peek around the photo beautifully adding some extra color and definition.

To finish off the page I added a couple of hearts around the page as well as a heart-shaped ephemera piece for my journaling.
I really love how fresh and whimsical this layout looks and the process of making it was nothing but enjoyable.

Fashion Friday with Flamingos on the Beach

One of the best parts of living in Southern California is that a little beach getaway sometimes simply means taking a little break from work instead of missing a whole entire day of it. The accessibility of being able to drive just 15 minutes to a beach to spend less than an hour there is something I do not take for granted. On days or weeks when there is just so much going on, escaping just for a little time by the ocean can do wonders. Cents of Style sent over this Classic Flamingo Beach Blanket, and I couldn't think of anything better than to take a little break from a hectic day/week/month/year for some time on the sand.

The beach blanket/wrap is lightweight and lovely. It was hard choosing from all the awesome prints, but I figured you could never go wrong with some flamingos! Plus, through the weekend, the round towels are just $21.95 with the code: STORYTHROW (sorry for the correction - the beach wraps are $15.95 using the same code).
