Cosmic Ocean
Water features in the creation stories of countless cultures across the globe, perhaps more so than any other natural substance or mystery. Echoing through these symbolic narratives about the birth of the world is the notion that everything originated from water.
Many creation myths speak of Life arising from the primordial waters, or the great cosmic ocean. The Ṙig Veda, the oldest Indian sacred text, states that creation began within the darkness where all was an unrecognizable salty ocean. And to the ancient Babylonians of Mesopotamia, in the beginning, there was both salty water and sweet water, which merged to create the Gods.
In many creation myths, transformation and emergence occur in the places where natural elements overlap. While Celtic mythology doesn’t have a specific creation story, there is the fable of Eiocha, a white mare born from the foam where the sea met the land before time began.

Gentle Force
Over time, a single drop of water has the power to shape even the hardest, most solid materials, from stone and rock to cliffs and mountains. In fact, water is responsible for crafting most of the stunning landscapes of this world. We can learn a lot from water in this regard – how consistent action, day after day, month after month, year after year, decade after decade, can create steady, lasting change.
A hag stone is a stone with a naturally occurring hole through it caused by water erosion. For the Celtic people, they were good omens and were thought to offer protection. So many people give up before they begin to see results. But deep‑rooted change takes time. The most magnificent creations require committed crafting. We all have passions, but what most people don’t do is commit to these things and master them. We’re all beginners of something. The great masters, musicians, and artists of history were too.
Commit to your passions. Throw yourself into what you most long to create. Commit to showing up, day after day. Small steps, taken consistently, make a world of difference. If you commit to your creations with grounded daily action, in a week or a decade from now, you’ll be blown away by what you’ve created.

The Mist
Intuition is pointless unless we act on it. But it rarely makes logical sense, which is why it takes faith to trust it and courage to act on it. But when we do gather up the will to act on our intuition, each and every day, we’ll find ourselves living a truly blessed, deeply aligned life that’s led from within. I call it living a soul‑led life.
There’s a golden thread before you, calling you toward it, beckoning you forth. You’re being called to trust your inner compass and be led from within. Mist and fog form when it’s extremely humid and water vapor condenses to form droplets that hang in the air. When mist or fog sets in, it’s as if everything changing in a state of mystery. When we’re walking in mist, we make sure we’re facing the right way, slow down, and enter a state of trust. Following our intuition is similar to that.

The Birth Mysteries
Water is intelligent, and where there’s water, there’s Life. We are water beings. We travel from the watery world of the Great Mother to be born into this world, our first breath marking the transition from water to air. We all grew from a single cell into a form in the waters of the amniotic sac of the Great Mother, and from there, that same intelligence has been guiding us every step of the way. It’s the same force that tells flowers when to bloom and the planet to spin.
You’re a creative being living in a creative world. This is a planet of creativity and manifestation. Creativity is your natural state. What are you being called to create? Creativity isn’t only for certain people– it’s within us all. What would you like to create?
Don’t squeeze the hose. Loosen your grip and call the intelligent waters to flow through you every step of the way. Then follow it up with consistent action.

My Sacred Experience With Water

One of the most sacred experiences I have ever had was in a studio in Hammersmith, London.
I didn’t know it at the time, but this moment would leave me changed forever. It took me many years to embody and integrate. After days of devotional chanting, I went into what I can only describe as an altered state that I talk more about in this video.
This experience was the sweetest most tender, sensual, intimate and sacred experience of my life and it has left an imprint within me, since this unitive experience the sacred waters really have never left me, it is like they are etched into my heart and cells. Like most mystical experiences it’s one that I have found difficult to put into words…

Selkie
There are many thoughts about what the ancient story of the seal people, or selkies, signifies, but for me it’s about the masks we wear, things being taken from us, how we hide parts of ourselves, the longing for home, the call to be wild and free, embracing our true self, answering the call deep within, and sharing our true voice.
In Celtic, Scandinavian, and Icelandic mythology, there are different versions of the story, but here’s one example: A man finds a selkie (seal) woman on the beach.
He steals her skin (without which she can’t return to the sea), hides it, and convinces her to become his wife. The selkie woman feels the ocean calling to her deep within and yearns for it daily. The couple lead a normal human life and have children, but eventually, the selkie finds her hidden skin and returns to her home in the sea.
It’s time to come out of hiding, to show the world who you truly are. To embrace your uniqueness, your weirdness, your ‘youness’. To swim freely in the ocean of your life.

The Sirens
In Greek mythology, the Sirens were half-woman half-bird sea creatures that would entice fishermen and sailors with their sweet and sensual songs. Free and empowered, they were not afraid to share their voice and use their natural gifts to attract what they wanted.
This card is an invitation to own your gifts, to share your voice, and to surrender into the most expanded version of who you are. To give yourself to the music that plays within. To share your song without wavering. To be free and to dance unrestrained. In life, there is the opportunity to become more and more alive and free with each passing day. However, most of us feel more and more trapped by the life that we’ve so consciously created.

Stagnant Waters
Perhaps it’s the movement of water that contains the intelligent flow of energy that makes Life possible – the life force that animates all living things. When water stops flowing it can become stagnant. This lack of flow can cause a buildup and lead to pollution. Perhaps we’re like that too.
Perhaps we need flow just as much as the waters of the world?
This card brings with it a call for flow, movement, and change. How can you begin to flow a little more with Life’s changes? Where in your life do you feel stuck? What has become stagnant or lacking of vitality, ease, and flow? How are you being called to reinject more movement into your life?
Sometimes when we go through life our energy can become stuck – physically, emotionally, spiritually, romantically… and yet life is always there to support our return to flow, to movement. This is a wonderful card to receive as it comes with a magnificent opportunity for shifting energy and embracing change and new possibilities.

The Water Carrier
In most parts of the modern world, humans have become disconnected from each other and the planet. We’ve forgotten simple things, like where the water that sustains us even comes from. We speak about creating harmony and peace on Earth, but really our focus should be on creating harmony and peace with the Earth.
Is it possible that it’s our disconnection from seeing Earth’s resources as sacred that’s made us so disconnected?
When we look into the future, we can see that without water, there can be no life on Earth. Without water, humanity cannot survive. This is a card about getting your priorities right and focusing on what really, truly matters. In our busy world, it’s so easy to get swept up in things that seem important and urgent when really, at the end of the day, we realize that worrying about them has been a waste of time, resources, and energy.
