The ever unfolding rose
The challenge of life is to keep your heart open when you most want to close it. To let life crack you open. To open through hurt and loss. To allow what is falling away to fall away.
Being human is a courageous act. A life well lived is full of losses and tragedies, as much as triumphs and adventures. Wherever you find yourself at the moment, life is coaxing you to keep your heart open no matter how much it hurts. To continually unfold. To let life crack you open. Perhaps you are going through a difficult time right now. Instead of cursing the difficulty, see it as a blessing. To open yourself up to the truth that, perhaps, as hard as it may be, life is happening for you, not to you. And one day, in the not-too-distant future, you may just bless the thing that broke you down and cracked you open because the world needs you open.
Now is the time to go gently. To treat yourself like a tender, sweet baby. To wrap yourself in a blanket and trust that the Mother has you cradled in her arms. The seas may not all be smooth sailing, but you are safe and you are held. One day, not too far from today, you will look back at the transformation and be blown away by the poetry of life. Everything is going to be OK.
WORK YOUR LIGHT:
Everything is going to be OK. Let it crack you open.
This week’s card is from the Work Your Light Oracle.

What is your soul flower?
What is your soul flower? Flowers are teachers bringing in wisdom from other realms. They have healed me more than anything and are available to do the same for you. I believe we each have a particular flower than informs our soul. And through connecting with that flower it heals us, impresses upon us and reminds us of our own true divine nature.
In London the peony roses are just starting to come. Anyone who has heard me speak knows of my obsession with this flower. This flower who starts so tight like a bud for so long and little by little courageously opens revealing the most exquisite beauty and such tissue thin fragile petals to the world around her. And just when you think she could possibly not open anymore she opens and opens and opens and opens. She knows her time. And even though she may be more comfortable in her green state, when the time is right she surrenders to the intelligent force within her and takes up space.
My second favourite flower is the gift pink to peach rose. Much softer and gentler. Sweeter and pure hearted while still having the grit of the earth. It’s still to early for them. I’m patiently waiting for their time.
What is your soul flower? And what message does she have for you?

I have music in my heart
I have music in my heart.
Ancient mantras echoing in all four chambers.
I have music in my heart.
Harmonics reverberate from bone to bone.
I have music in my heart.
Melodies that whisper from just behind the veil.
I have music in my heart.
An inner rhythm pulsing through my veins.
I have music in my heart.
Choirs of angels so grateful to be here.
I have music in my heart.
Monks, siddhas and shamans clapping through the ages.
I have music in my heart.
And a unique harmony that is only mine to sing.

17 ways to stay grounded in winter
One of the best ways to calm down anxiety running through your system is to get grounded. When we are grounded we are in our own body and able to differentiate what is ours and what we have picked up from other people.
Everyone knows the best way to get grounded is to get out in nature. But sometimes it isn’t possible to walk barefoot on the Earth or submerge ourselves in crystal clear water, especially in the colder months. So here are some ways that you can get grounded regardless of the weather.
1. Grounded sheets
I’ve been using these sheets for a couple of years now. You essentially bring the Earth electrons through to your home through Grounding technology (it’s essentially a metal rod that links to your sheets, sounds weird but it works).
2. Create an indoor garden
Create a little indoor herb garden or buy yourself an indoor plant to connect with and tend to each day.
3. Breathe yourself back into your body
During our busy lives we get disconnected from the rhythmic beat of the planet. The Take A Breath Meditation is a great way of finding that alignment and taking a short moment to get back into harmony with the Universe.
4. Grounding Meditation
Connect with the earthing power of Mother Earth with this Grounding Meditation for Empaths.
5. Let the sunshine in
In the colder months (particularly in the northern hemisphere) it’s easy to miss the sunshine! Take a good vitamin d3 to keep your d levels up and endeavour to get some direct sunlight on your face each day, even if only for a couple of minutes.
6. Yin Yoga
Activate your parasympathetic nervous system and release tension in the connection tissues of the body with a Yin Class. It is deeply relaxing and really lets your body exhale. It also helps you sleep deep and find your inner rhythm. My fave studio is Tri Yoga Camden, London
7. Go Alpine
Go on a skiing trip. Being surrounded by the alpines and snow is just as good as laying on the sand.
8. Mother Earth in your bath
Remember that water is one of Earth’s elements too, immerse yourself in it by running a bath and filling it with epsom salts. If you want to treat yourself adorn the bath with several drops of lavender and eucalyptus and some rose petals.
9. Light your fire
Embrace the element of fire through sitting in front of an open fire. If you don’t have a fireplace at home, find one at a pub or hotel. If that isn’t possible, light some candles and connect with the flame. Imagine your own inner flame being stoked as you watch it burn.
10. Floating
I’m a big fan of floating. It’s essentially a great big Epsom salt bath on steroids. You get in your little float tank and float to the top of the water like you would if you were in the dead sea in Jordan.
11. Watch a good Netflix series
Now some people say binge watching is being unconscious… but this one works for me! It is one of my favourite ways to snuggle up and recuperate if I’m feeling tired or overstimulated.
12. Fill up your well
One of the reasons we feel ungrounded is because we get depleted. Doing things that nourish you are sure fire ways to get grounded. Finding a good bodyworker or masseuse is empath gold. There are many different ways to fill up your inner well, including energetically with this Fill up your well meditation.
13. Use natural fibres
Choose natural fibres for your bedding and clothing. Do your best to avoid syntetic.
14. Eat the earth
Eat root vegetables such as turnips, potatoes, pumpkin, beetroot. Cook things slowly. Things like soup, bone broth and stews and really good to keep yourself grounded.
15. Bring Earth inside
Get some sand or earth in a container and put your feet in it inside!
16. Move your body
While walking or exercising in nature is obviously a great way to stay grounded, we need to remember that we are not separate from the Earth, rather, we are the Earth too. Any way you can move your body, particularly in ways that it wants to move, the better. Take a dance class, a yoga class, swim in a heated pool or just select three songs and have a dance party in your living room. Sex works too.
17. Surrender to your own winter
Winter is about hibernation. Don’t push yourself. Remind yourself that seeds need darkness, silence and rest to germinate. Let yourself have a winter. Surrender to your own inner winter. Spring will be here soon.
18. Earth Pulsing
My favourite way to connect with the planet is to do a practice I call Earth Pulsing. Your own heart beat is connected to the heartbeat of the planet (Gaia). If it’s too cold or not practical to lay on the earth just lay on the floor or your bed and focus on the heartbeat of the Earth. Breathe slowly and imagine your own heartbeat slowing down and beating to Her rhythm.
What are your favourite ways to ground yourself when you can’t get outside? Share in the comments below:)

The golden ticket to getting published
The most significant moment of my life was the moment I got the phone call saying that my first book (Light Is The New Black) was going to be published.
It marked the completion of a 15+ year journey (and perhaps an even longer soul one) from when I first heard the whisper to share my soul’s voice but was too afraid to do it.
My whole life I had this longing to create, to contribute, to serve but I didn’t know how and I never felt READY. Always so many ideas but deciding on one was where I tripped up. Forever pregnant with words while also waiting for that moment when I would feel ready to birth them.
I longed for structure, for clarity, for a clear path, for decisiveness and also courage.
One of the most valuable steps on my journey was attending the Hay House Writer’s Workshop. By then I was committed to showing up to my soul’s voice every day and like any creative, needed a deadline.
I knew I had several books in me that longed to be born and attending the writer’s workshop was an instrumental step on my journey. Being given a step by step guide to put my ideas into action was invaluable. I attended the event feeling like Charlie from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Deep down I knew my books were going to be born one way or another and attending that event was my golden ticket to getting my manuscript seen by my dream publisher. I knew that they offered a book contract to the winning submission and so used this event as a possible way in.
Over an Easter weekend I submitted my proposal and then surrendered it to the Gods. Several months later, after a morning of writing in the park, I made my way home for lunch. My phone began ringing as I was jotting down the last whispers that had arrived in my heart as I opened the front door. So consumed by writing I answered my phone on the last ring and discovered it was Hay House offering me a book deal! I wept the big grateful tears while looking out over the rooftops of London savouring this significant moment. It truly was one of those moments that I will always remember.
If there ever was a moment that was marked onto the timeline of my life before I was born, it felt like that was it. My entire being let out a whopping sigh of relief knowing that finally my soul’s voice had found its way home.
There are book ideas waiting to be born. Messages, looking for writers to write them into reality.
I truly believe that the only difference between an amateur writer and a professional writer is the professional shows up every day to write. No matter how long it takes. If you have a book in you or a message that is calling you to share it, I cannot recommend the Hay House Writer’s Workshop enough. And there is this free masterclass run by Reid Tracey (the President of Hay House) right now which shares lots of tips about getting published and answering the call to be a writer. Sign up to it here.

The meaning of the triangle
So, you’ve probably noticed from my logo (and if you follow me on instagram you might have seen the tattoo on my left wrist) that I love me some triangle!
Pretty much every week someone asks me what the triangle symbolises, a few years back I wrote a blog post on it (you can read that here). But I wanted to record this video to describe in person what this shape means to me and how this meaning has deepened over the years.
I’d love to hear from you. Have you been drawn to the triangle? What does it mean to you?
