KEEPING YOUR HEART OPEN

Keeping your heart open.

The challenge of life is to keep your heart open through the excruciating lows. We all face them. Moments when the only way of coping feels like caving in, cutting off and closing down. And while this may be a necessary form of survival.

Of preservation.

Of self soothing.

Soon the day comes where life beckons us to gather the courage to unfold once more. To reveal our tender petals to the light of day.

To come out of the cave.

To be warmed by the sun.

To be watered by the rain.

And to be gently encouraged opened by the unexpected winds of change.

INNER TEMPLE

We each have within us an Inner Temple. A place where our soul’s whispers and intuitive senses can be felt, heard and known. Where we can drink from the sweet waters of our soul. A resting place. A place where we can feel at home. A place where we discover that we are indeed the oracle that we have been searching for.

You are being called to be a devoted student and tune in to your heart. To incorporate true devotion into your life. You could be being called to develop a regular meditation, journaling or chanting practice. Or to show up to your soul with rhythm. To develop a daily practice where you fill up your well and spend time with your soul.

All of the answers to all of the questions that you seek are waiting for you in the portal of your heart. But you cannot hear them unless you carve out time each day to listen. Your soul is yearning for a deeper relationship with you, and so the more time you spend with it and show up to it, the more clearly it will guide you.

We are here to grow as souls. Earth is one big playground for our soul to learn. And you are being called now to go deeper in your soul growth or to increase your devotion by being a student of a lineage or a spiritual teacher.

If you have already been a committed student, then you are being commended for your devotion. Your guides want you to know how proud of you they are and that the time you spend in devotion is priceless.

If you are questioning your career or life path, your guides want you to turn your focus to devotion and this prayer: ‘Please use me in a way that delights my mind, body and soul.  May my life be one big moving prayer.’

There’s no difference between creativity and soul… As artists, our job is to listen with our soul and report back what we see. Living the life of a creative requires a special kind of belief. The process itself is the ultimate act of faith. What was once nothing all of a sudden becomes something… The rest is one great big leap of faith… For those called to create, just begin. SISTERHOOD OF THE ROSE

The Sisterhood of the Rose is a lineage of priestesses and mystics who devoted their lives to serving humanity and seeding light consciousness all over the Earth. A cross-section of ancient lineages, it is the path of devotion and beauty. 

Walking this path means being devoted to seeing and creating beauty wherever you go. The rose symbolizes the heart and the sacred geometry of all life. You are being called to notice the beauty around you, particularly in nature and hear the whispers of Mother Earth.

You are being called to spend more time in nature, as all ancient secrets live there. Mother Earth is constantly whispering. Spend time admiring Her creations and you will be rewarded with insight and grace.

You are being called to take a little more time to both notice the beauty that exists all around you and contribute to the beauty of the world in your own way too. This could be through your own creations or in things like how you dress to picking flowers for your home. Every time you devote your time to creating beauty, you harmonise the planet a little more and the shift in vibration can be felt.

Being a clear vessel in times of change

No one can get a clearer reading on who you are and what you are going through than you. This is why we are called to dig deep in times of change. Why it’s more crucial than ever to stay grounded. To be surrounded by people who champion your own inner knowing. Your own inner wisdom. Your soul’s ability to journey through this. To venture into the underworld knowing you will return changed, and yet even more yourself.

When we are going through initiatory times it can trigger us to feel helpless and alone. And those around us (especially those who love us most) will always have an opinion. And while it may come from a loving and genuine place, it will ultimately be coloured by their own experiences, opinions, emotional reactions and motives, as it will either be coming from their ego or their own inner channel. And while it can feel helpful when we are desperate to be told what to do, being plugged into other people’s channels often leads to frustration and confusion. It can also make us feel even more alone.

In times of change, and anytime really, it is important to be plugged into your own inner channel above all else.

Where possible, be clear on the guidance that you are open to receiving. Be discerning about the opinions you seek. Decide who will be on your advisory committee. Be clear on the support you will need. Let them know what would be helpful and what would be confusing and harmful. And remember, ultimately, there will be no better knowing than the inner knowing you will come to once you have gathered your information. Always, always, tend to your own inner channel.

BOUNDARIES

Where do you need to establish better boundaries?

You are being called to create clearer boundaries in your life. This could be with your friends, family, or work. Saying YES when you really mean NO leads to resentment, which is the biggest energy drain ever. At first it might only be a little bit and not feel like a big deal, but before you know it, your energy field becomes porous and you are left feeling depleted, resentful, or taken advantage of.

Saying NO and having clear boundaries is actually a spiritual act. The most giving, loving, compassionate people are those with the clearest boundaries. For when they say YES, they are able to give unconditionally.

When your boundaries are clear, others know where they stand and you are able to give freely. If you are not clear where your boundaries lie, this causes confusion, resentment, and energetic cords to be planted.

If you are saying YES when you really mean NO, you are likely needing something yourself. Ask yourself, what part of me NEEDS something from them? It could be a need for approval, a fear of being seen a certain way or a fear of loss.

The best way to gauge your boundaries is to check in with your belly. Your belly is the second brain. It has an intelligence known as your ‘gut feelings.’ Tune in to this space when deciding what is OK for you. How does it feel? What is it trying to communicate with you?

What I’m reading right now

I’m getting ready to go on my annual summer holiday and as I seem to be incapable of just reading one book at a time I tend to attempt to squeeze in 10 books into my carry on – just in case I feel inspired to read them. In most cases I might only get to one.
