The Giant’s Causeway is a captivating ancient volcanic formation in Northern Ireland that’s cloaked in many a myth. One story speaks of the giant Finn MacCool, who created it as a bridge to Scotland so he could fight another giant named Benandonner.

Lay It On The Altar

Stop the endless searching. Inner quest.

Held in the embrace of a Benedictine monastery perched on the rugged Montserrat mountain in Spain is a miracle-working 12th-century statue of the Virgin and Child known as the ‘Black Madonna.’

A sacred embodiment of the Divine, reflecting the intertwining of the spirit and the Earth, her presence reminds us of the mystical whispers of the stones that have been carved by time, a testament to the timeless wisdom of the Earth itself.

We can be so tough on ourselves, but it’s through our problems, challenges, and mistakes that we grow the most. And when we experience these difficult times, we gain the capacity to truly be there for another. No one is immune to the challenges of life, and we all need support as we journey through it. To know what can truly hold us through our ever- changing human life. To find a way to soften toward ourselves when life’s hard.

When I was 19 I set off on a solo pilgrimage to the lands of my ancestry (after working four part time jobs for a year!) and it was then that I was introduced to the ancient wisdom and power of stone circles, megaliths, temples and other ancient stone wonders.

Over the years one of my favourite things to do has been to visit sacred stone sites, I’m always blown away by how these beings have seen civilisations like ours come and go and how they seem to always invite us to slow down to the speed of the earth.

The most permanent structures on this planet, it fascinates me that our ancient ancestors could have walked past these same places and that through the stones we can reach back to the wisdom that has been severed.

As a channel, when I create I work energetically and working with the ancient stones has been the most unique creative process so far! It was so slow and steady! I felt grounded, supported and held. Both myself and Katie Louise, the illustrator of this deck, found the energy deeply healing, supportive and powerfully ancestral.

Energy Rising

The sun is a symbol of life-force, power, and vitality, and this is a card with positive, confident, decisive energy. Book update!

Hello from the homestretch of the land of book editing!

I had thought I was almost done a couple of weeks ago but got some feedback from my editor hurtling us back in deeper than before! This book is most definitely has a special pace to it, just when I think I’m done, another chapter drops in and my job seems to be to braid it all together with too many cups of coffee, nettle and rose tea either in nature or bed!

It begins in a yoga studio in Hammersmith, west London during my Kirtan chanting training when I stepped into the centre of the circle and my life would forever change.

In this experience I connected to the great mother, original mother to us all and the ancient grandmothers of the earth. They have been teaching me since and it’s taken me many years to integrate and stabilise that experience seven years ago! It also hurtled me into a period of awakening which I call “the descent”.

I’m also at the final stages of finalising the book cover, which is part of the process that I find the most stressful tbh as I care so much about it! We have been through many rounds but nothing felt like a match to my aesthetic and the content of the book. We had many very pretty covers, but this is not a pretty book, it’s beautiful but not pretty, just as the dark nights of the soul and cycle breaking and ancestral healing are not pretty. But they can be beautiful. All this to say that the cover is not what you would expect and I love it!!!! As soon as it’s ready you’ll be the first to see it.

The flowers are finally here in Glastonbury and my mum is here visiting which has been so so helpful with the kids and life logistics! Once I finish this part of the edit we are heading to London for a couple of nights

Personally right now I feel like I’m reemerging from a very long period of transformation. I feel new seeds of potency    s l o w l y    (but surely) arriving and I keep reminding myself to  savour it all, there is no rush. The deeper you go, the higher you will be able to reach. It really is a sacred art of rebirth…. knowing when to surrender and when to push!

I’ve made so many big decisions already this year already around the shape of my life and my work. The apple blossoms are reminding me that sweetness will follow if you have the courage to cut things back in devotion to what truly longs to be reborn.

Grief is evidence of how much you love

We are going through a period of great change known as the quickening. We each hold a thread for the healing of humanity.

The challenge of this time is to keep your heart open through it. To not close it off or harden or shut down. Living with a soft open heart is a triumph. And it can also get messy. When we close our heart off to the pain and grief and fear and loss, then we also close our heart off from the joy, the love, the ecstasy and the bliss.

Grief is a portal by which we see just how much we love and loved. As we each do our best to keep our hearts open at this time we are able to offer love to those around us. And as we do this we play an instrumental part in the healing of humanity.

The first thing to realise is that the earth is part of the cosmos, cosmos is ordered universe. And so if you see the life force or sacred essence here on earth you are connecting to the beings of the cosmos too. The sacred is here. Below you, around you, within you, not just above you.

We are being guided to remember that we never got kicked out of the garden. That we and all beings are sacred. That the sacred is above us but it is also below us, around us and within us. There is something sacred here just as there is something sacred in the heavens. Peace for all here now.

The Pearl

Alchemy. The reward at the end. From grit to grace.

Pearls are one of the most precious treasures of this world, and certainly of the sea. While the specifics of their creation remain a mystery, they’re believed to be the result of a natural process: Certain mollusks produce pearls as a way of protecting themselves from irritants that enter their shells.

The formation of a natural pearl is a rare occurrence – with only one in roughly 10,000 oysters producing one – and it can take anywhere from six months to several years. This card brings a precious message that something sacred is being created and it’s likely being created by you.

Maybe you’ve been creating something in the physical, such as a child, a home, or bringing an idea to life. Or perhaps your pearl is more metaphorical than that, having dedicated yourself to alchemizing your hardships into healing, grit into grace. Whatever it is, you’re being acknowledged for your work and the deep roots required to truly rise.

Chlíodhna (pronounced Klee‑nah) was the Celtic Goddess of beauty, love, and the ocean, and it was believed she could be found in every ninth wave. It’s said that people would whisper their wishes and prayers into small pearl offerings, placed within a shell and tied with seaweed, and then cast them into the sea on the ninth wave in the hope that the Goddess would grant their prayer.

Offer up your prayers to Chlíodhna for the alchemy to continue to happen. The jewel at the end is near.

Plunge

Don’t hold back. It’s time. Go for it. Dive in.

Don’t falter as you approach the water. Dive right on in. Headfirst. Don’t resist. You’ve been working for this for a long time. You’re ready. Go for it. The answer is YES!

This is a card of confirmation and clarity. It’s an invitation to take the plunge and say yes. If you’re someone who prefers to wait for permission or a timely invitation, you could consider this card’s message just that.

There are times for waiting, for restoring, and for repairing. This is not one of those times. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you feel completely prepared or fully confident. Those who dive in rarely do. But their attachment to resistance becomes less than their desire for the new. Maybe this is what’s been happening for you.

If you don’t feel ready, remember that so-called giant leaps are rarely that in reality. In most cases, there are hundreds if not thousands of baby steps taken day after day in the direction of a dream. Whatever it is that you most desire, the signs are pointing you in that direction.
