The Ripple Effect

Part of something bigger. Details are taken care of.

When wind blows onto water, ripples are formed. If the wind is consistent and strong enough, those ripples become waves, and those waves have the potential to gather momentum every step of the way.

This card delivers the message of the ripple soon to become a wave. You’re playing your part in the collective ocean of change. Maybe you know the part you play, or perhaps it’s not clear. Your role in the collective ocean matters, and you’re having an impact by the way you’re showing up to your path.

The Ripple Effect card could be a sign that a project or creation is becoming a bigger success than you may have previously thought it would be. Or it could be a sign that you’re part of something much bigger than just you. Perhaps you’re one drop in a giant ocean, part of a constellation of souls here to create an impact on this world.

Ride the Waves

Life lessons and growth. You will get through this.

You’re most definitely living right now. And while you may be experiencing challenges in your life, they’re shaping you into who you’ll be, someday soon. Just as strong winds that blow consistently over the ocean transfer energy to water to generate waves, the same happens when we feel the pressures of Life knocking on our door.

Life’s pressures and challenges invite us to transform in the process; they can cause calm seas to gain momentum and waves to form. While at the time it can feel overwhelming, our true character is born through these usually unexpected changes that life delivers.

Our experiences shape us. The most compassionate people in the world are the ones who know the real depths of Life. The ones who have the capacity to understand us are those who have been through their own choppy waves. The ones who are able to hold us when we feel most out of our depth are those who have been through it themselves.

Be like the surfer and instead of reacting to the waves or seeing them as things to be avoided, choose to respond. And when possible, see if you can find a way to ride those waves all the way to the shore. Immerse Yourself

Training. Learning. New hobbies. Passions.

Follow your desire to study and learn. Dive into what fascinates you. Immerse yourself in the topic that captivates you most. Maybe there’s something you’re passionate about that you’re called to deepen your knowledge of through study or learning. Or something you want to experience more fully.

You’re being encouraged to increase your wisdom and to experience life in a deeper way. To follow your passions and embark on some kind of higher and deeper learning. What are your interests? What would you like to learn more about? What topic fascinates you? What could you talk or read about without getting bored? Which field are you most interested in? What makes you come more alive?

Maybe you’re being called to consider a new career or explore the possibility of training in a new field. Maybe you’re being called to simply surrender to your passions and dive even deeper into them in your spare time. Education, whether traditional or experiential, can never be taken away from you.  Knowledge can open the mind and light up the soul.

Isle of Avalon

Healing. Returning to wholeness. Transformation.

Legend says that Avalon was the island where Britain’s mythical King Arthur was taken after being fatally wounded in his final battle.

First mentioned in Geoffrey of Monmouth’s fictional History of the kings of Britain (1136), Avalon is said to have been ruled by the powerful enchantress Morgan le Fay and her eight sisters (thought by many to be high priestesses), who were widely renowned for their tremendous healing abilities.

Some believe that the Isle of Avalon, which is also known as the Isle of Apples and the Isle of the Dead, is a mythical place of healing that exists beyond the veil. Others say that it exists in the physical – Avalon and its healing spring waters have been identified as Glastonbury in Somerset, southwest England, and even today, pilgrims travel to the town. It’s believed that this sacred place of healing was once surrounded by water and could only be reached by boat.

Lady of the Lake

New beginnings. Something is about to happen.

According to legend, the Lady of the Lake, also known as Nimue and Viviane, was a powerful priestess or enchantress who lived in a castle in a lake beneath the mystical Isle of Avalon. Deeply associated with water and magic, she was a powerful healer.

Some believe that the Lady of the Lake was in fact a role rather than a specific person, with many priestesses of Avalon and the Celtic islands taking on the position. Others believe that the Lady of the Lake is based on Celtic water Goddesses.

A key figure in the stories of Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, the Lady of the Lake is closely associated with the great magician Merlin, the knight Lancelot (whom she raised after his father died), and King Arthur himself. In one story, after Arthur is fatally hurt in battle, she helps take him to the healing Isle of Avalon, where he is said to rest until Britain needs him again.

Into the Unknown

Underworld. Depth. Courage. Facing your fears.

Earth is a water planet. Seen from space, it appears blue. Water makes up 71 percent of Earth’s surface, yet we’ve explored less than 20 percent of its ocean floor. There are creatures of the deep that have captivated humans for millennia. It’s no wonder, too, that water has been used as a symbol for our inner, emotional world. There’s always so much for us to discover and uncover within.

Are you being called to face your fears and explore the unknown? To challenge what you thought was possible? This is a card of courage, initiation, and depth. Perhaps you’re being called to make a significant change in your life that you feel scared about. Or maybe what you’re experiencing is more internal than that.

Maybe Life is calling you to venture into the shadowy depths of your own inner journey. To face things that others may be afraid to face. To heal what might feel difficult to heal. To surrender to a metaphorical depth in order to reemerge anew.

Confidently work with your spirit guides and channel spirit

I know how it feels to know you are here for a reason with gifts to share. I know what it really takes to develop a direct relationship with spirit and become a channel for this wisdom to be embodied, shared and born.

In 2017 I became clear that I wanted to develop a deep and direct relationship with spirit, my guides and the wisdom teachings of this planet. This is the way of the mystic, the medicine person and the healer. This is the path of the artist, the poet, the spiritual seeker.

We have been taught that we must follow an external path, a rigid system of beliefs. But what I was shown is that spirituality and mystical experiences while sacred are also normal and can go direct. It is time we reweave the sacred back into the everyday.

What unfolded was a life changing journey of ancestral healing, claiming my inner wisdom and soul’s gifts and becoming more confident in my calling as a channel, teacher and spiritual guide.

I saw that each of us can access the wisdom of the universe at any moment of any day. And that we each have a role to play in the healing of humanity.

How altar work can change your life

When we work with altars we create altered spaces. We bring the unseen world of spirit into the physical. We can tend to our inner connection and bring our deepest prayers into form. Altar work is such a powerful tool to really weave the unseen world of spirit and physical together. Spirit into matter. It has been the most powerful way I have woven the sacred into my everyday life.

Last month I was at an event in upstate New York and several students came up and showed me a clay Goddess that they had in their hands. I had them made especially by a local artist from the clay of the Glastonbury Tor and blessed by me at the chalice well and sent them to all of my students as the centre point of their Inner Temple Mystery School Altar.

The following month I was in Denmark and a woman and a man came up and flashed me their sacred Goddess. It moved me so much seeing this sacred web in the physical.

Altar work is at the heart of everything we do in The Inner Temple Mystery School.

By the end of the training we assemble a sacred mystery school altar with seven objects that are infused with the activations, transformations, energy and initiations we have experienced over the 9 month transformative journey.

There is a reason this journey is 9 months I’m duration. And I am so grateful to all who have answered the call to return to the temple within and integrate, activate and embody the call of spirit through saying yes to this training.

En Caul

Healer. Seer. Priest/ess/ex. Soul purpose.

The folklore of many different places, including Iceland, France, Holland, Albania, England, and Germany, has tales about a rare event called an en caul or veiled birth. This occurs when the mother goes into labor, but her waters fail to break, and the baby appears in this world still inside the amniotic sac in which it gestated.

According to tradition, children born en caul have second sight and gifts of healing. In Scotland, they were seen as good omens, and fishermen sought out birth caul (the amniotic sac) as an amulet to protect them from drowning. In ancient Egypt, they were believed to be the future priests, priestesses, and priestexes of the community.

This is the card of the healer, the seer, the wisdom keeper, and the mystic. Perhaps you’re already on this path, or perhaps it’s something new for you. The healer, the shaman, the medicine person knows that it’s through facing their own shadow and taking their own deep healing journey that they can return to guide others in their healing.

The healer is, like all of us, in their own spiral of transformation and healing. Healed isn’t a stagnant state – the healer knows they’re not meant to be perfect and whole all the time. Instead, it’s because they’ve journeyed to the deepest, darkest, uncharted oceanic caves and returned with an open heart and mind that they’re able to hold space for another. This card is an acknowledgement of your role in the world and the deep work you’ve been doing on your own healing journey.
