Climate & People...

In a lot of ways, People and the Climate are similar. Too much of either, and at the wrong time, is a bad thing. Having too many People in your life is like creating your own personal Climate Change. The heat of unseasonal drama, the excessive floodwaters of expectation, the unprecedented earthquakes of disappointment, and the multi-variant pathogens of guilt, jealousy, disdain, and ignorance. Having a few good and trusted people in your life is worth more than you realize.

Being Alive...

Being alive and being human are two entirely different things. The Earth before humans? Now, that's what being alive truly meant. The Earth after humans? Well, that was a blunder that should never have happened.

Magic...

Magic is one of three things...
It is either an unremembered knowledge, an untapped study, or an as yet unestablished science.

Whatever created Patience also made Procrastination.

Scientists...

In the absence of actual flesh-n-blood time travellers, actual flesh-n-blood scientists will suffice.

Marriage...

Determined Family Member:
"You must marry soon. What will society say?"

Even More Determined Me:
"One, it's none of society's business who or when I marry. Two, as long as we be good and do good, I don't think society has anything to worry about from a civilized single man who is at peace with himself and his life-choices. Three, Modi-ji is single and they voted him Prime Minister of India! If I hear another old-fashioned blindly-believing spiel on marriage from any of you, there will be divorces in this household, I assure you. The clause 'till death do you part' sounds awfully tempting to test right about now. If it isn't broken, don't fix it!"

Batman's Choice...

More than merely choosing the Bat as a symbol of having conquered his own fear of them as well as to drive fear into the hearts of enemies and evil-doers, there may - within the limits of this speculation - have been more to the Batman's choice of theme than meets the eye. Given how the ongoing covid-19 pandemic sourced from people messing with bats and their genomes, most probably with the aim of weaponizing the covid virus strain, there might have occurred a similar deadly outbreak in Gotham, perhaps even in that entire fictional region of the world. It might have led to numerous contagious ailments and deaths when people were exposed to bites or airborne transmissions of a fatalistic virus carried on the wings of bats that could well have been large in population at the time in and around Gotham City. Perhaps after things settled, they introduced a court of owls (DC lore connection unintended) to stem the bats' fast-growing numbers. The Batman could, therefore, have chosen the most widely recognizable source of fear among Gothamites and implemented it in his costume. He thus became more than just a source of fear. Bruce Wayne may very well have donned the very incarnation of death as dictated by a bat-borne virus strain that once threatened gotham with extinction.
Of course, all of this is pure speculation...

Politicians...

They say politicians have an uncontrollable tendency to lie. That if you left them alone in a room, they would trick the chairs, fib to the stationery, and make hollow promises to the walls. But in their defense, someone at some point in the distant past would've cornered another person and demanded that they do something for them, to which the natural human response would've been (and still is) "I'll try my best." Thus was a politician born, and the citizen they lied to. All because someone decided to force another's hand into doing something they couldn't later fulfill. So, technically, it is not the politician's fault for lying every second of every day. An everyday person gave them the idea that they can. We are indeed the architects of our own misery.

Artists...

Performing Artists seem to have gotten it into their heads that they have to treat every scene they're in as a competition. That they're fighting for space and legitimacy on camera versus whoever else is with them in that scene – the more prominent the other artist, the more intense the fight to come. Dramatic much? This 'sporting event' delusion in Acting probably began as a way for artists to kill boredom between takes, perhaps even goad themselves into staying active and 'inspired'. I call it delusion, because no matter what misguided sense of battle or competition some artists assume there is in an act, the scene is already scripted, and various characters and their importance in the story has already been written. Each artist has their own preordained and predestined role to play. Doing the best one can with what one has, and following basic tenets of respect and decency, without sacrificing excellence is all that is needed for an artist to stand out. Acting has always been a communion between Person and character, not a Mortal-Kombat styled fight for screen space. When an artist's eyes shine with the readiness to 'eat up' another artist while on camera, there does Art go to die and Ego come home to roost. In the case of an actual fight scene, however, it is advisable that such battle-hungry artists don't just stand there looking pretty.

Failing Gracefully...

A true test of spiritual detachment comes when your PC's internal HDD of 4TB shuts down and takes ALL your content and media with it. I am failing this test, but failing gracefully.
