Constant Irony...

The only constant in existence is the fact that noone can control what happens to us.

This means fate, karma, or whatever you want to call it, is the only thing worth trusting to be true.

Ironically, the sheer unpredictability of fate, karma, or whatever you want to call it, also makes it one of the most untrustworthy elements in existence.

The Meteor...

“First, they said a meteor is going to hit Earth in 2032. They even gave a highly specific timeframe – December 22nd of that year. Next, they said meteor 2024YR4 will hit the moon and not Earth – in which case we’re doomed anyway. After that, they said the meteor may evade us altogether. What gives?”

“Maybe they don’t want the economy to crash before the meteor does.”

Connections...

It’s oddly funny and doubly curious to know that the Vedic-Hindu god of death, justice, and the underworld is called Yama Raja or “King Yama” in Sanskrit, while also boasting the title “King Yan” in Chinese mythology.

It’s just as intriguing to know this self-same “god of the underworld” has a prominent place in the Chinese-Buddhist (Yanluowang) and the Japanese-Buddhist (Enma Dai-Oin) religions.

His name is Yama – God of Death, Lord of Dharma, Guardian of the South, and the Judge of Souls – and he seems to know some interesting stories.

Inaction...

Sometimes, the reason people don’t do anything when they’re scared is not because they’re afraid, but because they’re in denial.

Dogs...

We can learn a lot from dogs. They love anyone based on their actions, not their words.

Even when complete strangers are good to them, dogs reward them with trust and respect.

So, if there’s someone you don’t like, don’t call them a dog – it’s an honour most people don’t deserve.

Bizarre...

It’s bizarre how humans can breathe in the womb but drown in the sea.

Zombie...

Any religious myth that says the dead rising from their graves is a sign that the world is about to end might be referring to a variant of the Cordyceps fungus – aka the “zombie-ant fungus”.

Now, if the ‘zombie fungi’ take over enough bodies and spread at an exponential rate, the end will be so obvious that we wouldn’t really need a religious myth to tell us “I told you so.”
