Mood...
Any writer and storyteller out there will concur that not being in the mood to write that next scene only means that next scene is in the mood to write itself.

#JustGiveIn ...
The only way to tell a story, the only way to create characters, moments, interactions, and meanings is to simply give in, let go, and surrender to the story. It wants out, through you or through someone else. It will find a way, like that chest-bursting alien baby we all know and dread. When in doubt about writing that next chapter #JustGiveIn and let it out. Or it will haunt you, torture you, guilt you, and condemn you, before it finally leaves you and curses another with its poisoned kiss of everlasting truth and effervescent ecstasy.

Words...
Why do some people write? Don't believe the marketing angle that goes 'to share a piece of art or meaning with the world'. Some people write because they don't know how else to express what they are seeing or feeling. Like standing still in the shower, a hand on the wall, and not actually thinking about anything at all. Some people write because they spontaneously feel the urge to do so, and can't explain it. Like a sudden craving to eat a meal they saw someone else have earlier, or a need to follow ocd-style steps to prevent a global catastrophe. Some people write because they are enslaved to the very real possibility that the stories in their hearts and heads might go to someone who might not write it at all. Much like consigning age-old knowledge to the fire, at which point it gets lost for all eternity. *shudder* Finally, some people write because when they don't, and they later forget what it is they had in mind, they feel a haunting emptiness inside them that simply won't go away. Like a void into which they threw a pebble and are yet to hear a sound. Like harbouring regret at what might've have been if they'd asked out on a date someone they really liked. Like having a sense of not belonging anywhere in the world, not even to oneself. In the battle between writers and words, one way or another words always claim the flags of conquer. Words... They know their worth, they realize their power. Humans are mortal, but Meaning is eternal. Flesh perishes, but Ideas reincarnate. Writers die, but Words sing forever.

People...
People don't change, they just get better at hiding who they really are.

James Webb...
The new photographs beamed back from the James Webb Space Telescope just go to show how small we really are in the greater order of things. How petty our wars seem in perspective against billions of galaxies. How ugly our cruelties and lack of concern appear against the bright sparks of distant star systems. How unforgiveable our ignorance in the light of such brilliant wonders going back 13 billion years, and that's only a small portion of what's out there.

Pain...
Pain is a privilege. Only when we embrace pain do we gain that almost superheroic focus which tells us precisely what matters in our life, and what we need to pursue with a vengeance.

Illusions...
Misusing your time and then offering excuses for it is a much bigger illusion than Time itself will ever be.

Duty...
There is no duty higher or more important than duty to one's own self.

Bachelor-Baker...
When you answer the door in the middle of baking and find your neighbor there, looking at your white-powdered hands and probably thinking, 'This is why bachelors should not be allowed in apartments'.
"I'm baking a pie," I tell them, and later take up a slice of proof, which they savour with such childish glee that their own little kid is looking at them like they've lost their marbles.
One, that neighbor will probably change their mind about what bachelors do when they're alone in their apartments on Saturdays.
And two, omfg TWO, they will keep coming round to see if there's more pie! 'What have I done?' thinks the bachelor-baker to himself as he punches the dough with a furious vengeance.

Weapons Worth Wielding...
Despite all its strength, skill, cunning, and power, even the king of the jungle, the Tiger, does not rush at its prey from the get-go. It hides, stealths, creeps, and crawls its way until it is close enough to perform either a sprint or a pounce. Through this fearful and magnificent beast, the Universe teaches us that patience, calm, silence, and most importantly humility, are truly weapons worth wielding.
