Monday, 26th June -- Home late last night, still sort of woozy and stupid but functioning -- Imagine 45 relatives, 10 kids, and NO DRAMA. Am I lying, you ask? Nope, I swear -- not a bit of drama -- some sugar-crazed kids, lots of hooting and hollering, but that's it. Amazing, you think? 2 days of mostly rain, but who cares? I know all the shop owners, check in, see how business is going (they're all very seasonal and like squirrels, they have to save for the winter) and naturally, I stimulated the economy yet remained fiscally responsible. We have 12 birthdays and that meant 12 incredible birthday cakes from Tom at Tullio's. Someone just suggested that next year I should post a photo of the cakes we have each day -- they are truly unbelievable. I will do that -- please remind me next year, all right?

June 20, 2017. Outer Banks --Glory be, everything is perfect. We'll, okay, it's storming this morning but that just means you toast your slice of freshly made bread, slather it with chunky peanut butter and climb back in bed and give a big smile at the world. Family is great, all the kids just get bigger and bigger and no drama. As for the meals so far, lots of loosened belts. -- You would not believe the Tullio's birthday cakes. -- chocolate fantasy, strawberry shortcake, carrot cake, that 's only the beginning. Do you notice a food theme going on here?

June 16th, Friday -- Now this sounds gross. We have to leave the house at 3:45 a.m. tomorrow morning -- I do wonder what the cats are going to think? I mean, Mom's up but she's not feeding us and it's dark like winter. What's going on here? Wait, where are you going? YOU HAVEN'T FED US!
Meeting family at the airport in Norfolk, staying there tomorrow night, eating at this great little Italian place (the serving sizes are huge, enough to make you obese in a week) then an 1 1/2 hour drive to the Outer Banks Sunday morning. Sunday is always wild, grocery shopping, getting into the four houses, taking care of everyone coming in, cooking dinner -- and falling face down at 9:00 on a very nice soft bed that's set up high and if you're drunk I'd advice you not sleep in it. It's a long way to the floor.
So, I'll post when wifi is working and send photos. Everyone, be virtuous and you know the drill -- 5 minutes of your workout goes to me.

June 15th, Thursday -- Because I'm nuts we're taking an extra suitcase for gifts. Already mailed three large boxes to the rental company to hold for us until we arrive. But what fun it will be. This year, we have 13 birthdays and that means 13 cakes and that means paying the June overhead for Tullios (the best bakery in the Outer Banks.) And the baker, Tom, is not only good looking, he's got a flat stomach. Isn't that amazing?!
Still floating high with the Warrior victory -- the talking heads are already starting to talk about a dynasty. We'll see if they can keep the team together. If I were part of the team, on the bench, doesn't matter, I'd accept less money to stay -- imagine going to the finals with the chance of a championship for a long time?

Wednesday, 14th June -- Glad you guys like the photo of me reading a "fake" book with the ENIGMA cover. The cover is incredible. If you're not used to buying an actual hardcover, do consider this one, I mean, the sales force at Simon & Schuster gasped when it was screened onto the wall. (That's what I was told) -- lots of excitement. I'd like for the minions to see it on your coffee table after you've moved it from beside your bed. You can pre-order it just about anywhere. What fun --
Sounds like most of you were virtuous yesterday with your bat wing elimination quest -- don't let up, you can do it. And those legs? Are they strong and fit? Walk? Cardio? How do you move those legs? So do your best June workout today, the exercise minions will be cheering you.
Leaving Saturday for the Outer Banks (the chain of barrier islands off the No. Carolina coast -- you've heard of Kitty Hawk, it's there along with a Wright museum) Some cute individual came up with calling the Outer Banks the OBX. It's a great place if you have a large gathering -- a gazillions houses for rent --

Tuesday, 13th of June: WARRIORS WON! -- They led from the beginning of the second quarter all the way through, but still -- you think about gnawing off your fingernails, throwing pop corn at the TV, screaming for shots to go in, always worrying -- BUT THEY WON -- never lost the lead again. Kevin Durant was incredible, even though Curry only shot 3 threes, he was great, defense, getting the ball to the basket. And Iguodola (sp?)--He had 20 points. Incredible. All right, I'll shut up.
I wonder what will happen to the refs for the Predators/Penguins last game -- that call that the play was dead after Predators scored a goal -- I wonder why they didn't review it -- or did they? If so, wouldn't they hear the whistle blow after the goal? Help me.
All of you were virtuous yesterday with your triceps and abs? If you weren't, I predict an exercise minion will visit you in your dreams and make you do 100 push - ups. Don't have to do 100 push-ups during the night, be virtuous during the day and GET IT DONE. Come on, guys, I'm not asking all that much -- the tris and abs take about 5 minutes -- if you did them yesterday, use the stretch band and work on biceps and back. If you didn't, then double it today, morning and evening. Don't forget cardio -- I'll post photo of the ENIGMA cover -- talk about gorgeous --

Thursday, 8th of June -- WOW! Did you see the third game last night between the Warriors and the Cavs? I nearly stroked out, I mean, 3 minutes left in the game and the Cavs up 6 points and then the explosion -- and the Warriors won by 5. Amazing game, but basically played by Kyrie and James against 5 Warriors. Plus James played all but three minutes of the game -- talk about exhausted. Now Friday night is Game 4 -- be sure and watch and remember, no horse in this race, yell for WARRIORS.
Yep, I'm still excited -- now, what's going to happen Friday night?Don't forget, they have only a day to rest up. Who knows about how many miles they ran last night?
What a great day this is going to be -- all of you, wear something strange and wonderful today. Women, how about high-leg drawers maybe in shocking pink, and guys, how about the reindeer socks your nephew got you for Christmas and you tucked them in the rear of your sock draw? That'll do it. And you'll think about those hot pink high-legs and those reindeer and laugh really big -- be sure to share.

Wednesday, 7th of June -- WARRIORS play Game 3 tonight in Cleveland. Again, if you don't have a horse in this race, holler for the Warriors. I think this is the critical game.
I'll see about video and such at the OBX to "capture" the pirate and Cher -- what a combo. I still haven't learned all the words to I Got You Babe -- and believe me, they're not that hard -- arrrrgh. (Yep, getting into pirate practice).
All of you, this is mid-week, a glorious day, really, and you're here and you're not in bed sick, you're up and at 'em, ready to take on the world. Do not waste today -- face it head-on and do some really cool things, like scoring points at work for a great idea or a job well done, like buying a funny birthday card for your relative/friend and MAILING IT ON TIME -- if it's a kid, stick in a twenty dollar bill and be worshiped for life.
Give your other half a huge smooch -

Tuesday, 6th of June -- writing June, feels very weird, like I should immediately go jump in the ocean or a swimming pool or maybe get on the plane for Maui. But alas, it's work for a week and a half -- then The Outer Banks for a week with 45 family. No, don't shriek say furious prayers for my survival -- it'll be great -- everyone is well behaved, the kids are cute, the parents in control (most of the time) and all the different dinners are fantastic.
Thursday night at the OBX is "Pirate Night" -- so yep, have a long red curly wig with a pirate hat and accompanying pants/shirt. Then it's the talent portion of the evening -- Cher -- "I've got you Babe" -- a big full black wig, white jeans a la 1970, a hippie black vest. What fun --
All of you, it's a brilliant, glorious Tuesday. It beckons you to work hard and enjoy every single accomplishment you have during the day, be kind to jerks (It really surprises them and gives you the upper hand) and don't forget to play with your kids and your critters. Do you stop at the gym before going home? How do you fit in your exercise? How's the 8" plate only going?

June 1st -- Thursday -- Hey, tonight's the first game between the Warriors and the Cavaliers for the finals. Needless to say, I'm hooting and hollering for the Warriors. I wanted to go to the second game on Sunday and the cheapest tickets in the section we normally sit were over $8,000. Can you imagine? And the VIP seats were $50,000 (right on court-side) So I really will love watching the game on my big TV -- If you don't have a favorite, then support the Warriors, I want to hear you shouting along side me, okay?
PARADOX -- it's the title for the 22nd FBI with Savich and Sherlock -- really jumped forward. But I need to ask your opinion: I brought back a very unusual character from KNOCKOUT. So to know all about him, it would be cool to first read Knockout before Paradox. I've written it so you don't have to, of course. Here's the question: Should I mention anywhere for the reader to consider reading Knockout first since this is a sort of sequel (well, one of the two plots is). Help --
One of you told me about eating off blue plates curbs your appetite. Never heard that one before. I don't think the color matters, just the size -- 8 inches max -- one helping -- and if you want something sweet, that's fine, make it small, that's the ticket, or not and cut back on your normal intake. Again, guys, this ain't rocket science. Go after your legs today -- walk, run, job, bike after you stretch and do your BAT WINGS -- Body Enemy #1 --

Halloween's coming up fast, the day the zombies burst out of the ground and terrify the crap out of us, not to mention eat our candy and eat our brains.
Update on BOMBSHELL, the 17th FBI Thriller: I'm nearly finished with the edit. The cover is very cool, explodes with eye-popping color. BOMBSHELL is set in Maestro, Va., (the setting of the 10th FBI thriller, POINT BLANK) and in Washington.
JEWEL OF THE LION (first thriller in A Brit in the FBI series partnered with J.T. Ellison). JEWEL moves fast and you don't know what's going to happen on the next page, and you're biting your toenails or a zombie's toenails. J.T. is an excellent plotter and that means when we brainstorm no plot gets left behind.
Alas, no kids want candy enough to crawl up our oxygen-deprived steep driveway, and the sad thing is, I still have a big bowl of candy, every year, but no one comes, not even the zombies with brain bags.
Take care, Catherine
