April 28, 2017

Friday, April 28 -- I'm hoping this post goes through, not that it matters all that much in cosmic terms, but it would be nice. The minions are excited it's Friday, it's like yeah, we survived, we're still moving, people still love us, we are still gainfully employed, we're ready to burst out and learn the colors of the rainbow -- in order.
The authors all came to lunch yesterday -- hadn't seen them since before Christmas -- it's such fun hearing what everyone is doing and so nice to hear that everyone is fine and happy and life is proceeding nicely. What more can you ask? If you're wondering what their names are, my Dedication is to them -- in The Devil's Triangle. These women are all gorgeous, very cool people as well as very good writers, so if you haven't read one of them -- give them a try.
Today, you're brimming with energy and that means -- brim with enthusiasm, brim with the thought of climbing aboard your stationary bike and riding your legs off. Or walking your legs off, or running them off. All in all, go out with a gallon of sweat and a feeling of euphoria that all is well in body-land --

April 27, 2017

April 27th -- Thursday and guess what? Quarterly author's lunch here at my house -- I've posted photos of these gorgeous women. So lots of laughter and champagne flowing today and it's sunny and warm.
Now, swarming -- this isn't at all like "flash mobs" -- a local Apple store was swarmed, millions of dollars of goods stolen, people beaten -- cameras, sure, but can you imagine the manhours to track down 60 teenagers? Can you imagine being a customer looking at an iWatch and all of a sudden there are 60 teenagers ripping out all the products? And what would the employees do? The manager? I wonder exactly where this started -- does anyone know?
Today, you're going to de-constipate your brain. On your back on the floor, legs up straight against the wall, imagine yourself sinking into the floor. Beginning with your toe nails, relax -- move right up to the top of your head -- relax those hair follicles. DO IT.

April 26, 2017

Absolutely perfect Wednesday, April 26th -- Facebook wouldn't let me answer all your comments from yesterday. why? No clue? I have contacted minions to pay them a visit, shake them up a bit.
Hey, who's heard of a "swarm?" -- this is where people get together on say Twitter, and the message is "everyone meet at the train station at 2:00" -- of course this used to be for fun. Now, yesterday, in Oakland, 60+ teenagers (youths) swarmed the BART (train) station, jumped the fare turnstiles and robbed and beat lots of riders. Tell me, what is wrong with people? Why weren't these kids in school? Who's heard of "swarming?"
Now today, working on the gallies for The Devil's Triangle in paperback, out in 5 months -- takes lots and lots of time, and you have to be focused to catch those pesky typos and not perfect words that need a change.
Okay, dish me up some titles for the 22nd FBI thriller -- it's set on Lake Massey in Maryland -- bodies in the lake -- I won't tell you any more -- try for a neat one-word title like Insidious or Enigma or Nemesis -- words with a great punch.
Today you're going to concentrate on your legs -- out on the driveway, guys, lunges and squats, and just plain walk around the neighborhood, stopping now and again to chat with friends, enemies, lovers -- take a little rest -- then get back to it, okay? Minions love to lurk near driveways, so they'll be cheering if you're doing what you're supposed to and really pissed off if you don' show up.

April 25, 2017

April 25th -- Tuesday -- did everyone see the Warriors last night? They had a 4-game sweep and now get to rest nearly a week before the next set of play-off games. Okay, I'll shut up about that, but Curry and Thompson and Green -- the three point shots simply fell from wherever they were launched from the floor -- amazing performance, not seen the like in too long a time.
Today I'm running my feet off -- you know when you've got a number of things to in a day? You have to take them in order and figure it all out -- what do I need to take with me? What about leaving enough time for the next thing? It goes on and on and then you realize you're nearly out of gas in Carlotta? (She's my vehicle) and you aren't going anywhere until you get the petrol in her tank. I think I've got all the ducks and goblins lined up so I don't screw up anything -- the only problem? I don't have time to WORK on the next FBI -- which still has no title.
You're all going to be swift of foot today (like me) walking, hiking, jogging -- just get that bod moving, that's the most important thing you can do for your innards. MOVE -- of course, stretch first, and while you're walking roll your arms back and forth, work on those tris and bis -- it's all good --

April 21, 2017

Friday, 21st of April -- the day before I'll be speaking at the Sisters in Crime all-day workshop in Sacramento -- there's a link for you to click on if you can come and want more info. If you're an aspiring mystery/suspense/thriller writer and within 150 miles, and you're not there, the minions will have a major protest outside your dwelling, probably involving eggs against your windows.
Working on the copy-edited manuscript of ENIGMA (out Sept. 12th, the 21st FBI) I've got to say -- it's good -- so I'm starting to relax and no longer thinking of taking matches and torching it and weeping and thinking about slitting my wrists. This is all positive.
Today, folk, you are to end the week with a bang. No, don't go postal and shoot anyone, your bang will be end-of-week body attention -- Look at yourself in the mirror, be objective, and today, work on what, in your opinion, needs the most attention. It's all good, you hear me?

April 20, 2017

April 20, Thursday -- and yet another week is rolling to the finish line. What a fine week it's been. So I spend time polishing a keynote, time polishing a workshop, spend time going over the copyedited manuscript of ENIGMA, reviewing THE DEVIL'S TRIANGLE gallies, for, guess what? For the paperback! It's on a 6-month schedule (after hardcover) -- and then I spend time writing the new FBI thriller -- I love pressure, I thrive on it, actually, Who out there is like me? Or does having a lot on your place give you gas? Palpitations?
Today, take some cookies, donuts, whatever to work and pass them out. Assure everyone that you took the goodies to the local Shaman and she removed all the calories -- so all is good and no guilt.
After work, during work, before work, midnight tonight if it so moves you, stretch your brains out, do your cardio, then work on those abs and bat wings -- summer's getting ready to pull into the parking lot -- you need to be ready --

April 19, 2017

Big gorgeous Wednesday. Taxes all in, take a big breath and kick up your heels, you've survived another tax year. So many of you really like the ENIGMA cover -- I cannot tell you how awesome it is "in person" so to speak.
Working today on copyedited ENIGMA, working on a keynote and workshop for a Sisters in Crime day-long event this Saturday -- don't forget the 150 mile rule -- it'll be near Sacramento --and trying to find time to write on the new FBI thriller (on page 60 but still no title.) AND the Warriors play their second play-off game tonight. What a great day --
And how about you? Mid-Week, all is copacetic, right? You're getting done everything that needed to get done, you're working, you're and you're enjoying life. It's hard to live in the present, but do try. This is a whole complete day and it needs your 100% attention.
Today, mid-week, you're going to do a hugo stretch, CARDIO until you feel the sweat on your forehead (be sure to keep your
breathing slow and smooth) fast, slow down, fast, slow down. And go after those bat wings!

April 13, 2017

Thursday, April 13th -- I can see the "publish" buttonin the bottom right corner, so maybe this will post to you, all digits crossed. Yesterday I couldn't read your comments and couldn't post -- I do now have a person to help me -- so digits crossed. I still want to shoot someone though --
The Devil's Triangle stayed on the bestseller lists for 3 weeks, ain't bad given all the competition (mainly new books coming onto the lists each week, I mean really, how rude) So, thank you, guys, I really appreciate your support.
Insidious paperback was on the bestseller lists for 5 weeks, a very good showing -- again, the influx of new books (the gall!) shoved it off.
Do something today that you normally don't do, something that's fun. Maybe a bit of putting? A bit of fishing? A bit of drag racing? Maybe you're going to whale watch? If you're doing something less exciting, it's still different, so enjoy yourself and bottom line, you need to laugh and smile, maybe even hug somebody spontaneously, okay?. You can do your CARDIO afterward -- it'll help bring you down a bit --

April 11, 2017

April 11, Tuesday -- Hey, I figured out the problem with posting (hopefully) but now, this morning Facebook wouldn't let me respond to any of your comments -- I'll keep trying, but know I'm reading what you write to me and smiling or frowning or sending prayers your way. I see that some of you did pay attention to your posture -- the most important thing is to get those shoulder blades together, you do that, and you'll nearly there --
Well, I'm 1/10 done with the next FBI, number 22 -- can you believe that? I'm in a made-up town, Willicott, Maryland, and I think the two plots just might come together, not sure yet. Did you know that if you throw a body in a lake, the lake water will disintegrate the bones in about two weeks? That's why lakes are excellent body dumps, so I'm told. Now I've got to think up a title --
The Devil's Triangle is on its 3rd week on the bestseller lists -- Again, thank you. Did you notice the TDT visual with the Da Vinci figures on it? Is that not cool?
Today you're going to troop outside, breathe in deeply, and think about how very lucky you are, yep, count the top three most wonderful things and/or people in your life and feel blessed, and then, naturally, you're going to go for a nice walk or hike with your critter or a hapless friend -- or climb on the bike -- just MOVE --

Friday, 7th of April: What happened to the dyslectic devil worshiper? (answer down below)
Yep, end of week yet again, your taxes are done, the Warriors have thirteen straight wins, I really hated the movie Rogue 1 (I mean, everyone dies at the end), going sailing Sunday, dinner out Saturday night -- hey, sounds good right? I expect all of you guys to line up stuff that you'll really enjoy as well. No, don't just lie around and watch TV (unless it's the Warriors game Sat. night, then that's okay)
I'm getting great feedback on THE DEVIL'S TRIANGLE -- again, if you really like the book, do email me your comments at ReadMoi@gmail.com -- Also, I'm fascinated to know which is your favorite scene in the book. And yes, I have a very favorite as well. I'd also like to thank those of you who pointed out mistakes in the book. This is excellent because it means they can be corrected immediately for future printings and the paperback. So, all of you with eagle eyes who care, a big smooch for you, in my thoughts.
Today, polish off the week with a lovely long April walk or hike, enjoy all the newly blooming flowers, breathe in that spring air, and do all this, hopefully, with someone you really like and gossip -- that's always fun.
What happened to the dyslectic devil worshiper? He sold his soul to Santa.
