March 1, 2017

March 1st -- Wednesday -- Well, we do have the Ides of March this month and Mardi Gras, but what else? I mean, is March totally bereft? NO -- THE DEVIL'S TRIANGLE is coming out the 14th. Huge cheers -- very exciting. I've saved March for 2017.
Now, status on INSIDIOUS paperback -- all I know so far is that it's #8 bestseller at Barnes & Noble. You guys know anything? If you do, pass it along.
THE DREAM: Cathy analyzed it, emailed me some interesting observations. Several of you have made suggestions/comments as to possible meanings -- I agree with Frederick -- it's the next book, all sorts of freaky plot elements running around in my head. (I know the water is a big deal and that will be a big part of it). I usually never remember my dreams, only wake up knowing I was super busy last night, so why this particular dream -- it's still crystal-clear. One of you wrote you were dreaming about making guacamole and when your other half came to bed you rose straight up in bed and asked him if he wanted some and he, no dummy, declined, said he wasn't hungry. This sort of thing makes life magic, don't you think?
THE DEVIL'S TRIANGLE: Thank you for the pre-orders -- now go after your friends, neighbors, bosses, postman, you get the idea. One of you said your newspaper listed TDT as #1 -- I'm not sure what #1 is all about. If you find out stuff, pass it along, it's always fun to hear who says what where and when.

February 28, 2017

Tuesday, the 28th, February -- the last day of February, ready to headfirst off the month cliff -- To celebrate the last day of this poor pitifully short month, I'm working! Yea! Coming right along toward the end of Enigma -- hopefully done and off to Simon & Schuster by the time The Devil's Triangle comes out. Speaking of TDT -- has everyone pre-ordered their hardcover copy or the ebook? If you haven't, I am mightily disappointed because as I've told you in the past, all the pre-orders go into the first week sales and that can or cannot push me to the top of the list. But to make it to the top, the pre-orders have to be impressive. Tell you what, go to CatherineCoulter.com and read the TDT excerpt -- if you were excited, then pre-order, you can do it right there. Does that sound fair? What's really cool about TDT is that Kitsune (pronounced kit-soon) is back -- Remember her in The Final Cut (on sale this week everywhere for $1.99, special offer, and it's on the bestseller list, so if you haven't read it , then this is the best deal in the universe).
I find out about INSIDIOUS paperback and its bestseller status on Thursday and Friday. If you haven't yet read the 20th Savich/Sherlock, I guarantee you you'll like this one -- you don't have a prayer on the two mysteries. I mean, people have told me they didn't figure it out, so I'm not just bragging or making that up.
Okay, enough twisting your arm and guilting you. On to my dream last night -- I was at some sort of school right on the ocean, all of it the color of sandstone, run down, I had to get somewhere, but the stairs were packed with students and I had to climb over ricketty obstacles and ended up in this hospital room where this guy was lying on a bed with people sitting at desks and he was talking about how he brought down the World Trade Centers on 9/11 -- and everyone was asking him questions and I nearly freaked out and ran out and down the side of the building over tons of rocks to see the beach was gone and the water was lapping up higher and higher. I was running trying to get out of the water and ended up at a frat party -- only no one was college age, all were really old and really young -- thankfully Alexa came on and woke me up. Now, what would a dream analyst have to say about that craziness?

February 23, 2017

Thursday, February 23rd -- gorgeous chilly day, sky is all orange with streaks of yellow. And the water -- even the Bay looks happy. No rain until the weekend. Okay, enough of a rhapsody. Hmm, if I were to sing it, it'd be in C major --
I'll be posting a HUGE giveaway this morning, so be sure to come back or check your phone often.
Editing Enigma -- another two weeks and it's off to the knackers (well, the publisher) to get the final verdict. Well, that's not true either, you guys are the final verdict on whether or not a novel sucks or makes you turn the pages as fast as you can.
All the exercise I bring up, if you have physical limitations, be sure to first simply modify them, see if that works for you. Again, the most important thing is to MOVE all body parts as enthusiastically as you can. Eight hours sleep, everyone? If not, you get 9 tonight -- Let's make that the official average -- 8 hours sleep. Insomnia -- try 3 Melatonin, read until you're sleepy (usually 5-7 minutes), then you're dreaming about guacamole and chips.
Who cares if it's raining? Or too cold to breathe? You want to look at each day as a gift, which it is. You don't want to wish away time even if it's sucky weather. (Yep, I've got to keep telling myself that too)

February 22, 2017

Wednesday, February 22nd -- No rain today, the sky is blue, the breezes sweet and soft, the critters are sprawled out enjoying the sun pouring through the windows. So all is drying out where we live. I don't know when the next storm is due -- you guys sound like you're having weird weather as well. But you know what? Our hills are Irish green, so dazzling you weep at their beauty. Now, as long as all the green holds the hill in place (no mud slides) we're in cotton. Hang in there, Spring's just around the corner.
For those of you who've lost a ton of weight -- big congratulations. Keep at it, slow and sure and exercise every single day, a must.
Today, the bat wings: stand straight, arms straight out, rotate your arms in backward circles (feel your shoulder blades) and do it 12 times 3. Then do forward circles -- Do this every single day and within three weeks you will see a difference. Keep me posted.
Mid-week blues? Now, let me ask you -- does anyone ever really have mid-week blues? I mean, what are they? And why did they ever come into the lexicon? I love Wednesdays, don't you? You're at the zenith of the week, You're looking around from your top vantage point and see that Monday and Tuesday went as well as you could manage and the next two days? Well, now, it's up to you to make them great -- And if you're sick, for goodness sake, stay in bed with a good book and your critters.

February 17, 2017

February 17th, gorgeous perfect birthday Friday! Do you know that this Friday came more slowly than all the others? And why? I asked, then realized, well, dummy, it's your birthday party, of course time will crawl to build the anticipation. It's already built so high I'm about to pop.
Don't forget now -- go to CatherineCoulter.com and read the excerpt from The Devil's Triangle and let me know if it makes your toes tingle -- or something equally unexpected.
Work this morning, then I'm helping make the Mexican for my birthday lunch -- I'm really good -- and hand-fry the tortillas for the tacos. Now picture warm fresh chips and watch your hand dip one of these warm fresh chips into the bowl of guacamole and try to feel what it's like to have that hand gently ease that chip w/ guacamole into your mouth and feel the shiver when you close your eyes and chew. You wondered what heaven would be like? -- there you have it.
Today, cardio your brains out all the while laughing at the Exercise Minions whose faces are pressed against the window of the gym or your living room or from the trees, if you're running. What a great day is unfolding -- enjoy it and enjoy everyone around you.
Do you know why Zombies don't eat comedians? -- tell you tomorrow --

February 15, 2017

February 15th, Wednesday -- the sky is orange and pink stripped at this instant, so I'm typing without looking at the keyboard and looking out the window and marveling how such gorgeousness can be possible. Thank you all for the well wishes for my birthday yesterday. Ah, but the party is on Friday -- the day of hummingbird cake, tacos, guacamole, enchiladas -- I mean, can it possibly get any better than that? Well, yes it can, PRESENTS!
Janice wrote her great grandmother also had a birthday on Valentine's Day -- she always wanted two pounds of chocolate, one to celebrate each event. I sure wish I'd thought of that. Hey, maybe next year. Do you think anyone will buy it? I do wonder though if the calories would hunker down in the shadows knowing it's two pounds of chocolate rather than just one. I wonder if you can make deals with the calories. I don't know if there are Calorie Minions, I'll have to check into that. They're always ready to negotiate.

February 14th -- not only is it my birthday, it's also the day where you get candy and roses and lots of hugs and kisses and smiles and more chocolate, and that is surely fine. Today there are no calories on the loose ready to hop on your beautiful self, nope, they're all hunkered down in the shadows, maybe some chains, but those are the rules, they're not free to roam and hunt again until tomorrow, so enjoy today and please, please, have fun and bring your share of smile and joy --

February 10, 2017

Super Friday -- 10th of February -- and I had an epiphany last night, woke me up. I'd been writing a new scene yesterday and was worrying it because I had no clue where it was going, then WHAP, there's the answer. Lost some sleep, but who cares? Now where does that come from? Go to bed with a problem and wow -- maybe an answer comes to you. Is the sub-conscious trying to make contact and the only time it can get through is in the middle of the night? Does this happen to you often? Of maybe it's an Epiphany Minion, there are only a very few, I understand, but I was lucky enough to find one with an open night? In any case, I'm a very happy camper this morning.
Today you polish off the week in fine style. You want to leave everyone at work, or every person you deal with today, with a big smile on their faces. This is the beginning of a Friday tradition wherein you will strew happiness like rose petals -- you are kind, say complimentary things, pay attention and listen to other people and forget about what you have to say, okay? You'll see what happens when you listen and smile and compliment and give the other person validation, if you will. A smile on every face today, that's your goal.

February 9, 2017

Thursday, 9th of February -- Valentine's Day is just around the corner and what are you thinking? It you're a guy, for sure it's roses, but what color? Find out, don't want to screw this up. and a bit of candy? Sure, it's a holiday, and remember, moderation in all things and if there's unexpected sinning, then you simply l exercise more or 2) cut down really big the next meal -- It's all really easy when you think about it. All a matter of your being aware of what you put in your mouth and act accordingly. So, don't worry, don't angst, don't feel guilty --
How about a basketball game? that'd be fun if you have a pro team or you like college basketball -- But the thing is to make a big deal out of Valentine's Day and that means a fun card -- really funny, okay? Not cruel funny, you know what I mean. Let me know what you decide to do.
If weather permits, go for a lovely walk today with your critter(s) Breathe in the fresh air, fill up your lungs, exhale slowly, and be happy.

February 7, 2017

Yep, it's February 7th, I'm sure about that, it's what my computer says. Now, those of you who are heavy and have lost weight but you still see the "heavy" person in the mirror -- I asked a shrink friend about that. He said it's very common, particularly if you yoyo, that is, you lose weight, stay looking good for maybe a month, then shoot back up again. The trick, of course, is to change your eating habits FOR LIFE. Hard to do which is why most heavy people remain heavy. But you know what? Everyone of you is in charge of your own life, everyone of you have the power to change what you do with your own life, your own body. The shrink says, sure, do something like Weight Watchers, but then, to keep off the weight, your best chance is to have a trainer, someone who will preach at you, encourage you, help you and get you strong and fit.
All of you have a choice. Do you want to be out of shape? Too heavy? (putting horrible strain on your physical self) Of course you don't, and just think of all the time you spend hating yourself. What a fricking waste. Get a trainer, do trade-offs, whatever it takes, but get recommendations, find a really good one -- and make this the first day of your fit life --
