Wampire shares new single + announces headlining tour

WAMPIRE SHARES NEW SINGLE VIA ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY
ANNOUNCES HEADLINING TOUR
BAZAAR DUE OCTOBER 7TH VIA POLYVINYL
Wampire photo by Andy De SantisAfter recently announcing their sophomore LP Bazaar and sharing its first single ("Wizard Staff"), Portland's Wampire is back today to share their new single "The Amazing Heart Attack." Its release comes in conjunction with the announcement that after their upcoming tour with Temples, the band will embark on their first headlining tour, supported by Montreal's TOPS. Check out the new single, all upcoming tour dates and more about the band below.

More about Wampire:
Following the release of their debut album Curiosity in 2013, Wampire went from a duo most accustomed to playing house parties around their hometown of Portland to a five-piece band performing in venues all over the world with groups such as Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Foxygen, and Smith Westerns.
That 12-month span saw Wampire play more shows in more cities, countries, and continents than in all their previous years together combined -- a nearly non-stop barrage of new and memorable experiences that, above all else, forced the band members to become more fully immersed in music than at any other time in their lives.
As a result, when founding members and primary songwriters Rocky Tinder and Eric Phipps returned home at the tail end of the year, they immediately dove into the process of working on a new album in order to capitalize on the creative energy that had been steadily amassing during their days, weeks, and months on the road.
Says Phipps of that moment in time, "I holed up in a tiny room within a friend's warehouse and began knocking out as many different songs as I could. I tried not to look back, just wanting to explore everything I could possibly create. I started to feel like I was becoming a Kafka-esque insomniac musical novelist at one point."
The reference to the German writer is an apt one for a band that has always imbued its disarmingly off-kilter pop with tinges of paranoia and surrealism (both lyrically and musically), but even more fitting is the title of Wampire's new record: Bazaar.
Like the tantalizing blend of exotic treasures and captivating sensations its namesake suggests,Bazaar continually offers listeners a variety of unexpected and alluring sonic flavors over the course of its nine tracks -- ranging from raucous riffs ("Bad Attitude") to seductive sax ("Wizard Staff") to charmingly catchy choruses ("The Amazing Heart Attack").
As with their previous full-length Curiosity, Wampire recorded Bazaar with trusted producer Jacob Portrait (of Unknown Mortal Orchestra), though this time around the sessions took place at The Museum, a studio in Brooklyn's Greenpoint neighborhood, and were done directly to tape.
Far from home once again, Tinder and Phipps used the city to their advantage -- writing lyrics on the 40-minute bus ride to and from their temporary residence in Bed-Stuy and rushing to a shop down the street to buy a guitar -- one that looked and felt like it had been buried in dust for decades and had just the right analog sound -- as their allotted studio time was winding down.
Another important change was the addition of touring drummer Thomas Hoganson to the recording and songwriting process. Though Tinder and Phipps had previously sought to minimize distractions in the studio by just working with each other, Hoganson's diverse musical abilities (in addition to drums, he also plays piano and saxophone on Bazaar) made him an ideal collaborator.
And so, after a year spent in vans and on planes, in European clubs, Australian beaches, and everywhere in between, Wampire emerged with more confidence, a stronger vision, and what is undeniably their best batch of songs to date. Bazaar will be available on CD, LP (Polyvinyl e-store limited edition of 300 on 180-gram clear purple, black), cassette and digitally.

She Keeps Bees unveil Eight Houses album stream

SHE KEEPS BEES UNVEIL EIGHT HOUSES ALBUM STREAM
ON TOUR NOW!
EIGHT HOUSES OUT SEPT 16TH ON FUTURE GODS RECORDS

LISTEN TO EIGHT HOUSES HERE(please post and share)
Today She Keeps Bees have unveiled their much anticipated new album Eight Houses. The powerful and haunting album, out September 16th on Future Gods Records, is now available for streaming.
Eight Houses finds She Keeps Bees working with an outside producer, Nicolas Vernhes (Deerhunter, The War On Drugs, Dirty Projectors, etc.) for the first time and enlisting guest musicians including Sharon Van Etten and Adam Schatz.
She Keeps Bees are on tour now, their highly affecting live show is not to be missed! All dates below.
PRAISE FOR EIGHT HOUSES:"Low-key but powerful, trailing wisps of desolation, menace, and regret. Larrabee's moan is a ripple of unease in stale air, occupied only by some keyboard and a drum track." -Pitchfork
"Larrabee's soothing alto murmurs against minimal organ parts and a sparse drumbeat, and the less-is-more effect is powerful." -Stereogum
"It's glow comes like warm reds and oranges breaking the haze...She Keeps Bees manage deceptively gentle emotional forces." -Consequence of Sound

ABOUT SHE KEEPS BEES:Considering how controlled the chaos is on Eight Houses-a record that's ruptured by riffs and rattled by rhythms without leaping straight off the rails-it's tough to imagine a time when Jessica Larrabee and Andy LaPlant didn't finish each other's sentences, creatively and personally. But that's how She Keeps Bees began: with LaPlant bashing a borrowed kit (including a garbage-picked floor tom) atop a step-ladder and Larrabee directing the dark solo recordings she began soon after moving from Philadelphia to Brooklyn.  "It was trial by fire," says LaPlant of their early rehearsals. "Luckily what she wanted out of me at the time wasn't complicated."  "We grew together slowly," adds Larrabee, "like a tree. It felt powerful with him behind me. Nothing really clicked until I met Andy."  That dynamic became more pronounced with each passing record, peaking with the self-produced songs of Nests and Dig On, the latter of which expanded the pair's minimal sound with bass parts and synths. Now joined by an outside producer (Rare Book Room's Nicolas Vernhes) and guest musicians including Sharon Van Etten and Adam Schatz, She Keeps Bees revels in the raw power of subtlety, silence and space, coloring Larrabee's compositions with lean piano lines, hazy horns and warm organ rolls.  "There was definitely a batch of more aggressive songs that got cut from the record," explains LaPlant. "Having a producer was nice in that respect; if things were starting to sound too similar and we didn't hear it, Nicolas wasn't shy about letting us know. We wanted to step outside our comfort zone stylistically, which really gives Jess' songwriting a chance to shine."  It also pushes her dense lyrics to the fore, exploring a wide range of universal emotions (desire, obsession, change) and looking for answers to questions our teachers never addressed, from the blood-splattered war hero status Custer earned during his "last stand" to the forced assimilation of Native Americans on the open roads She Keeps Bees toured for the first time in 2012.  "The reservations left a heartache in me," she explains, "and swarms of questions. I began reading stories. The more I read the history, the more I realized this was a universal story of 'progress': the Western world surrounding indigenous people, taking their natural resources, destroying their sense of self."  And yet there's still a light at the end of the tumultuous tunnel Eight Houses carves over the course of 10 punchy, confident songs. It kicks in as "Raven" collides with its choruses, meeting the human condition head on.  "Let the toxic mimics roll off us all," says Larrabee. "Let the power of your truest self rest in your heart.  Draw strength from below your navel-a place where there is no fear. Honor the gravity of the emotion but do not be consumed."

METRONOMY UNVEIL NEW VIDEO FOR "MONTH OF SUNDAYS"

[image error]Unveil New Video for “Month of Sundays”North American Tour Begins THIS WEEK[image error]Today, we are delighted to announce Metronomy’s brand new video for their single “Month of Sundays. PRESS HERE to watch the video. The single is from the band’s fourth studio album,  LOVE LETTERS , available now via Elektra Records.
The video, shot by Callum Cooper and produced by Julia Reed and John Hassay, drew inspiration from the Spomeniks - second world war memorials likened to alien art which can be found scattered across the former Yugoslavia and on Angus McBean's iconic pictures of the Beatles that featured on the red and blue album covers. It’s a roller coaster ride, using intricate camera tricks which make you wonder how it was made.
A live favorite from the album, “Month of Sundays’” rich, chiming guitars and Mount’s distinct vocals tell a story of where everything went wrong (in a relationship): Someone once suggested that a song had been written about me by a disgruntled ex-girlfriend. I'm not sure if it's true. But, if it is, this is my response to her and it.”
Metronomy recently announced their North American tour which kicks off this week in Toronto on September 10th. All Dates below.

"Dexy Valentine's Bonfire Beach project drives a wedge between her dreamy work on Magic Wands, and her desire for a rumbling motorbike, heroin-chic aesthetic dusty enough to get compared to B.R.M.C." -LA  Weekly
Dexy Valentine is the front woman of Magic Wands & Bonfire Beach.
Magic Wands have garnished great success in music licenses via Zynch, having songs featured on Victoria's Secret, Vogue fashion Week, Gucci, Zara, T-mobile, Beauty & the Beast, Vampire Diaries & the Diablo Cody film "The Power of Few" with Christopher Walken & Christen Slater.  Magic Wands have toured & opened for  The Kills, The Horrors, The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Black Keys, The Raconteurs, The Breeders, The Wombats and have made appearances at SXSW, Glastonbury & Lollapalooza.
Presently Magic Wands are finishing up their second album tilted Stranded on Earth the anticipated follow up to their acclaimed debut album Aloha Moon that was released late 2012.
Meanwhile Dexy Valentine has delved into a darker sound and embarked on a side project called "Bonfire Beach" where she waves her magic wand over the gritty golden lights of Hollywood's lost angels to the moonlit seances of the gypsy trodden beachcombers.
Bonfire Beach's debut self tilted album is due out on Cleopatra Records & the band will be main support for The Dandy Warhols' fall tour this Sept/Oct. The LA Weekly has given praise to Bonfire Beach listing them in "LA's top ten bands to blow up in 2014" as well as listing Dexy Valentine at #2 in the top ten rising female fronted bands in
Los Angeles.
Bonfire Beach's debut single/video "Spit U Out" has just been released via Manimal Vinal. The track has an edgy  punk sound and has been compared to The Gun Club meets Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Bonfire Beach will be releasing their new self-titled LP on October 14th via Cleopatra Records.

**********

Formerly the core members of  Religious To Damn, Zohra Atash and Joshua Strawn (Vaura, Blacklist) changed gears, turning their multi-member, organic chamber ensemble into a drum machine-minded, electro-centric duo. The shift was sparked by a two-fold realization from Atash and Strawn, who were looking to consolidate the project, with coordinating multiple musicians often slowing the writing and performing process, combined with a mutual revived interest in electronic music and hip-hop beats pulling influences from acts like The-Dream and These New Puritans as well as classic industrial artists such as Front Line Assembly and Coil (whose former member Drew McDowell remixed Azar Swan's single "In My Mouth").  Over the course of their time as a revamped entity, Azar Swan has released a digital single on Pendu Sound and the LP Dance Before the War on the independent label Handmade Birds, as well as several covers and one-off free digital singles.  They have played notable shows over the past two years as direct support for Prurient, White Lung, King Dude, Tamaryn, and J.D. Samson & MEN.  Azar Swan has just completed their second full-length, And Blow Us A Kiss, for a Fall 2014 release on Zoo Music.

Directed and shot by Bob Pruvis and Timm Gable in Milwauke, WI in the summer of 2014, the video for Sylvan Esso's "Dreamy Bruises" is filled with natural beauty, human connections, and enigma -- much like their widely-praised self-titled debut album.  Watch as a diverse cast of characters, including bandmates Nick Sanborn and Amelia Meath, make a mysterious pilgrimage through the tree-lined hills of Wisconsin.  As our travelers make their way to a clearing in the woods, there is a celebratory yet dystopian atmosphere as we await the video's colorful climax.  Of course, no Sylvan Esso video would be complete without an emphasis on movement and dance (see videos for "Coffee" and "Play It Right"), and here we are treated to a joyful choreographed line-dance with all of the pilgrims moving in unison.       Tour Dates:9/8 Toronto, ON - The Drake Hotel + **SOLD OUT**9/9 Burlington, VT - Higher Ground + **SOLD OUT**9/10 Boston, MA - The Sinclair + **SOLD OUT**9/11 Brooklyn, NY - Rough Trade NYC **SOLD OUT** 9/12 New York, NY - Bowery Ballroom + **SOLD OUT** 9/13 Washington DC - The Howard Theatre + **SOLD OUT**9/17 Dresden, DE - Altes Wettburo 9/19 Hamburg, DE - Hamburg Introducing 9/18 Berlin, DE - Introducing Berlin @ Schwutz 9/20 Essen, DE - King Kong Kicks @ Hotel Shanghai 9/22 Cologne, DE - Studio 672 9/23 Luxembourg - Rockhal 9/25 Amsterdam, NL - Paradiso 9/26 Antwerp, BE - Trix Bar 9/27 Paris, FR - Badaboum 9/28 Zurich, CH - Stall 6 9/30 Brighton, UK - Green Door Store 10/1 Birmingham, UK - Hare and Hounds 10/2 London, UK - Oslo **SOLD OUT**10/3 Bristol, UK - Louisiana **SOLD OUT**10/4 Cardiff, UK - Buffalo Bar 10/6 Manchester, UK - Soup Kitchen 10/7 Dublin, IE - Workman's Club 10/8 Belfast, IE - Black Box 10/9 Glasgow, UK - Nice 'n' Sleazy 10/18 - Irving, TX - Cultivate Festival10/23 - Baltimore, MD - The 8x10 ^10/24 - Philadelphia, PA - Union Transfer10/30 & 10/31 Saxapahaw, NC - Haw River Ballroom ^ **SOLD OUT**11/8 Oakland, CA - Fox Theater #11/10 Sacramento, CA - Memorial Auditorium # 11/14 Los Angeles, CA - Shrine Auditorium # 11/15 Santa Barbara, CA - Santa Barbara Bowl #1/23 - New York, NY - Terminal 5 1/31-2/4 Riviera Maya, Mexico - Hard Rock Hotel (MMJ's One Big Holiday) &
