The Vacant Lots Announce 'Paint This City', Share Video

THE VACANT LOTS ANNOUNCE "PAINT THIS CITY"New Single Available September 22, 2014 on Sonic Cathedral Watch and Share "Paint This City" Here
European Tour Kicking off at Madrid's Psych Out Fest on September 12th
"The duo stand out from the psych hordes by virtue of their punk spirit" -  NME        The Vacant Lots release their new single, 'Paint This City', on September 22, 2014. It will be available on iTunes and all major download and streaming services.
Watch and share "Paint This City" here.
One of the more synth-based tracks on the Burlington, Vermont-based duo's acclaimed debut album 'Departure', it is sung by keyboardist/percussionist Brian MacFadyen and was inspired by his time living in Montreal. According to the band it actually started out as a misinterpretation of the chords to Galaxie 500's classic 'Tugboat', but has ended up somewhere in between Mink DeVille's 'Spanish Stroll' and New Order circa 'Power, Corruption & Lies'.
It comes backed with 'Departure', another late-night city song which adds Lou Reed-style street smarts to a punked up 13th Floor Elevators garage snarl. It also follows in the grand tradition of album title tracks that aren't on the album of the same name @ see also Spacemen 3's 'Sound Of Confusion', The Jesus And Mary Chain's 'Psychocandy', Primal Scream's 'Screamadelica' and Ride's 'Going Blank Again'.
Following their UK support tour with The Brian Jonestown Massacre earlier this year, The Vacant Lots will return in late September for a series of dates in the UK and Europe, including a London headline show at the Shacklwell Arms and a slot at the Liverpool International Festival Of Psychedelia.

The band is known for their engaging and uproarious packed out live show, converting newbies and captivating existing fans. Now, with the direction of legendary rock photographer and filmmaker Danny Clinch, the band's Sept. 5th show at Berkley's Greek Theatre will for the first time be available for fans to stream live via TourGigs.com. This will be the first concert film directed by Clinch in his new role as Creative Director for TourGigs.com.

WATCH THE LIVE STREAM HERE!

The Head and the Heart's 2011 self-titled debut album on Sub Pop remains one of the label's best-selling debut releases. In a few short months, The Head and The Heart went from playing open mic nights to selling out San Francisco's Fillmore, Seattle's Paramount Theatre, New York's Terminal 5 and more, building a loyal fan base across the country and becoming known for providing raucous and energetic live shows. To date, their debut album has sold over 315,000 copies. Since it's release of Let's Be Still in the fall of 2013, the band has headlined sold-out tours with stops at Red Rocks, the Hollywood Bowl and appearances at Bonnaroo, Coachella, Lollapalooza and major appearance on late night TV. Let's Be Still has sold more than 150,000 and is still climbing.

Danny Clinch is among the premier photographers of the modern era. His world-renowned music photography has been presented in numerous galleries and featured in major publications around the world.  Clinch is also a three-time GRAMMY® Award-nominated director, earning acclaim for helming full-length documentaries, concert films, and music videos by such luminaries as Bruce Springsteen, John Mayer, Pearl Jam, Tom Waits, Willie Nelson, Ben Harper, John Legend, Foo Fighters, Dave Matthews Band and The Avett Brothers.  Clinch's book, Still Moving, which chronicles his  illustrious career with more than 200 photographs of the most important musicians of all time, will be released on September 23, 2014.

TourGigs, a technology company which provides an entire suite of services to produce, film, market and distribute high-quality concert films, is thrilled to announce that Danny Clinch has joined the company as Creative Director. TourGigs empowers Clinch by giving him the ability to participate in more films - which is what he wants to do - than he could on his own, while retaining his signature unobtrusive style.  The first concert Clinch will direct is The Head and The Heart at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, CA, on September 5th, which TourGigs will stream live worldwide.

Black Angels Reveal New Video

THE BLACK ANGELS PREMIERE NEW VIDEO FOR"AN OCCURRENCE AT 4507 SOUTH THIRD STREET"VIA Q MAGAZINE   WATCH // EMBED "AN OCCURRENCE AT 4507 SOUTH THIRD STREET"
The Black Angels premiered a new video for " An Occurrence at 4507 South Third Street " today on Q Magazine 's website.  The gritty and powerful video, directed by Kelsey Rose Stark and produced by Ace & Son Moving Picture Co., examines the suspension of time. In the clip, a woman falls following a struggle; the result is an exploration of life and what can transpire within that final instant, as she sees the various ghouls of everyday life while spiraling down to her final breath. The directors took their inspiration from both the song's allusions to the Ambrose Bierce short story  An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge , which deals with similar themes, as well as iconic psychedelic imagery.
The track is taken from the band's new offering  Clear Lake Forest , out now via Blue Horizon.  The 7-track set was initially released as a limited edition vinyl release on Record Store Day, but it was recently re-released wider due to popular demand in a variety of formats, including 12" clear vinyl, CD and digitally.  NME  gave the release an 8/10, saying that "The Black Angels' psych scholarship pays dividends here." Clear Lake Forest cut " Diamond Eyes " premiered via  Consequence of Sound , who called it a "highly refined slice of blues-meets-psych-rock, with singer Alex Maas delivering his sun-baked croon over swirls of hazy feedback and guitars that zig-zag like rainbow-colored basilisks."
Guitarist Christian Bland invites listeners to accompany him on a sonic journey: "After roaming through the Indigo Meadow, the time has come to journey to the Clear Lake Forest, where 7 tales of diamonds, executioners, and other strange occurrences await underneath the crystal waves lapping in the lake."
Once again, The Black Angels (Christian Bland - guitar, drone machine/organ; Alex Maas - vocals, bass, organ, drone machine; Stephanie Bailey - drums, percussion; Kyle Hunt - keyboards, percussion, bass, guitar; Jake Garcia - guitar, bass) prove themselves the undisputed avatars of contemporary psychedelic rock, simultaneously exalting the genre's kaleidoscopic past as they thrust it ever further into the future. Clear Lake Forest on iTunesClear Lake Forest on AmazonThe Black Angels Webstore

My Brightest Diamond's "Pressure" music video

MY BRIGHTEST DIAMOND’S “PRESSURE” MUSIC VIDEO PREMIERES AT ROOKIE MAGAZINE
THIS IS MY HAND  OUT SEPTEMBER 16 ON ASTHMATIC KITTY RECORDS
WORLDWIDE TOUR CONFIRMED
“THIS IS MY HAND” VIDEO CONTEST LAUNCHED

“…sounds like a modern-day Nina Simone…”— ELLE Magazine

“…gorgeous new album…”— KCRW

“…there’s something so unique about Shara Worden’s music…has us hypnotized.”—Refinery29

“…has a feeling for both the grandeur and the grain, building every sweeping gesture in her music out of a swarm of small details.”— The New York Times
“…dazzling…”—Rookie Magazine

The official music video for My Brightest Diamond’s song “Pressure” premiered yesterday at  Rookie Magazine  and can now be viewed/shared here. Of the song and My Brightest Diamond (aka singer, songwriter and performer Shara Worden),  NPR Music  praises, “…a stirring song powered by an incredible drumline…one of the most powerful and dramatic voices of the past decade,” while  Stereogum  proclaims, “…‘Pressure’ is something to be reckoned with. Filled with an army of percussive sounds from big drums to twinkling bells along with shrieking brass and crushing synths…”
“Pressure” is from My Brightest Diamond’s new album,  This is My Hand , which will be released September 16 onAsthmatic Kitty Records (pre-order). In celebration of the release, Worden will embark on a worldwide tour this fall, including dates at New York’s Bowery Ballroom and L.A.’s The Roxy as well as an appearance at the 2014 Austin City Limits Music Festival. See below for details. Additionally, an Instagram crowd-sourced video contest for the album’s title track recently launched via Hitfix. The contest encourages fans to take a picture that matches a lyric from the song and submit it for a free track download and possible use in the upcoming video. Full details can be found atthisismyhand.com
This Is My Hand was recorded in Berlin, New York, L.A. and Worden’s re-adopted hometown of Detroit with producer Zac Rae. Of her inspiration behind the album, Worden comments, “The genesis of the new album was looking at the changes that have happened in music over my career, and trying to reevaluate what it meant to me in the first place: ‘what is the value of music’ is essentially the question. In the States, the marching band is something that is done in school, so it still represents something inclusive, something that anyone can learn. I loved the communal quality and the way that drums and horns travel in large three-dimensional spaces.”
Since debuting as My Brightest Diamond in 2006, Worden has released three full-length albums, including her most recent, 2011’s All Things Will Unwind. Of the album, The New York Times praises, “…she has a keen sense of the dramatic, and a sure understanding of dynamics,” while allmusic asserts, “All Things Will Unwind finds this musical auteur at the top of her game, maturing, pushing her already broad boundaries, and brimming with imagination.”
In addition to her work as My Brightest Diamond, Worden has collaborated and performed with various musicians, artists and filmmakers, including Matthew Barney, Sufjan Stevens, Bryce and Aaron Dressner (The National), The Decemberists, Bon Iver, David Byrne, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Laurie Anderson, Matthew Ritchie, Murat Eyuboglu, Brooklyn Rider and yMusic, among others.

What people are saying about Avi Buffalo:
“...Infuses a dreamy 1960s rock sound with youthful ambition, evoking the past with a touch of dread. Nimble guitar solos flower from the mix and forlorn piano lines tug heartstrings while Zahner-Isenberg’s tender, breathy voice describes a world of demure emotions and generational anxieties.” [Feature] -  Pitchfork

"An even more pop-centric prism of West Coast folky radiance" [Review, 4/5] -  Mojo

"Classic American pop-rock served with a glaze of summer-fried weirdness" [Review, 8/10] -  Uncut

"A happy return." [Review, 4/5]

"An album that skirts close to perfection." [Review, 9/10] -  NME "So What," the first release off Avi Buffalo's sophomore album At Best Cuckold, soars with low fidelity guitar riffs through cycles of a singsongy chorus. Its well-crafted lyricism elevates the song's downplayed charisma to an admirable and unique stature against this year's alt-pop rockers" ["So What"] -  FILTER "It can't help but seduce." ["So What"]-  CLASH "The album’s first reveal, “So What”, lends some satisfying maturity to their sound. While Avi Zahner’s pen as playful and imaginative as their self-titled debut, the band’s easygoing rock and roll tones have been mystified in dreamy reverb similar to Capture Tracks leaders like DIIV and Wild Nothing. This change of pace keeps them far away from “waking up feeling normal"" ["So What"] -  Consequence of Sound "Off-kilter pop glory." ["Memories of You"] -  DIY “It’s a warm and vibrant track full of Avi’s youthful vocals over some jangly guitar lines that are just plane delightful. “So What” just moves and grooves in all the right ways. It’s perfect for the warm summer weather that has finally arrived and will be promptly put on repeat all week.”["So What"] -   We All Want Someone To Shout For At Best Cuckold

Catfish and the Bottlemen play LA Oct 14

U.K. BAND CATFISH AND THE BOTTLEMEN ADD U.S. FALL TOUR DATES
EP KATHLEEN AND THE OTHER THREE OUT NOW ON COMMUNION RECORDSFollowing an extensive summer tour that included over 30 major festival appearances, Welsh breakout band Catfish and The Bottlemen will return stateside to tour this fall. BBC hails their live performances, noting “the quartet’s articulate, urgent indie rock is an expression of their transition out of their hometown into bigger venues through gig after gig after gig.” Tickets will be available for pre-sale beginning Wednesday, August 6 and general on sale Friday, August 8.

The band continues to celebrate the release of their critically lauded U.S. debut EP  Kathleen and the Other Three , out now via Communion Records. The recording received immediate attention upon release and acts as a preview to their debut full-length album, expected 2015 (further details to come).

Recent critical praise for Catfish and the Bottlemen
“Some of the Strokes’ tautness and new-wave underpinnings in crisply told tales of romantic friction.” —The New York Times

“Combining the garage-pop-disco sensibilities of bands like The Strokes and Phoenix with narrative hip-hop-esque lyrics inspired by The Streets.” —Nylon

“Stick splintering, British Rock and Roll…” —Baeble
Additionally, the band released a video for their latest single “Kathleen” http://bit.ly/1mweWUt , available now on iTunes:  http://bit.ly/1qb26wA . The single recently reached number one on Sirius XM’s Alt Nation.

Kathleen and the Other Three was produced by Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys, Adele) and Ian Grimble (Travis, Manic Street Preachers) and recorded in London and Wales. Of the new music, front man Van McCan explains, “We’re so excited to finally release something in the U.S. With this EP we’ve tried to put songs on it that grip instantly… short but explosive, with relatable lyrics. It feels like we're starting from scratch again. No one knows us and that really excites me.”

Catfish and the Bottlemen are Van McCann (vocals, guitar), Billy Bibby(lead guitar), Benji Blakeway (bass) and Bob Hall (drums). The band signed to Communion records in 2013 and made a splash onto the London music scene with their song “Pacifier,” watch the official video here:  bit.ly/1gsLYT2

Faith No More Prepping New Album

FAITH NO MORE PREPPING 2015 ALBUM
LIMITED EDITION 7-INCH SINGLE AVAILABLE VIA RECORD STORE DAY’S BLACK FRIDAY EVENT
BILL GOULD SPEAKS WITH ROLLING STONE   Photo credit: Margaret BandaLeft to right: Mike Bordin,Bill Gould, Mike Patton, Jon Hudson, Roddy Bottum    SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 2, 2014 – Faith No More, who reunited in 2009 for a series of sold out performances and international festivals, is currently recording their first full-length album since 1997’s Album of the Year
A limited edition (5000 copies) 7-inch single of the song “Motherfucker” will precede the April 2015 release, available via Record Store Day’s Black Friday event (Nov. 28).  The single will be released digitally on Dec. 9.
"We’ve always shared a chemistry between ourselves that’s unique to this band, but these past few years of touring together have made us aware that we not only play better as a unit, but we like the new stuff we’re coming up with,” explained Faith No More founder and bass player, Bill Gould, who also spoke with Rolling Stone in more detail (http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/faith-no-more-to-release-first-album-in-18-years-plot-u-s-tour-20140902). “So we’ve decided: we’re going to get busy in 2015…make an album we’re proud of, kick things up a notch, get out there and perform it and maybe even dedicate a little more focus to our fans in the States this time."
The as-of-yet untitled album is being recorded in an Oakland, Calif. studio with Gould handling production.  The release will be the first from Faith No More’s newly formed imprint, Reclamation Recordings, which will be distributed by Ipecac Recordings.
Prior to the new album’s release, Faith No More will headline Australia’s Soundwave Festival in February 2015.  Worldwide tour dates will be announced soon.
Faith No More is Mike Bordin (drums), Roddy Bottum (keyboards), Bill Gould (bass), Jon Hudson (guitar) and Mike Patton (vocals).
