White Arrows Sophomore Album In Bardo Streaming At SPINSophomore Album Out September 16 On Votiv
Fall Tour Dates Announced
photo credit: Angel Ceballos "The Los Angeles fivesome indeed puree a slew of equatorial guitar sounds and rhythms and textures, which combined, bridge the gap between Animal Collective and Foreign Born." - SPIN "A well-balanced blend of electronic, rock, and global instrumentation, and easily digestible dance-friendly rhythms" - The AV Club "The quintet hits pop and calypso flavors along the way, finding itself slotted alongside Vampire Weekend and Animal Collective...Nicely done" - Under The Radar
Listen: In Bardo via SPIN MagazineSPIN is streaming White Arrows new album In Bardo a week before street date. Spin said, "The new album combines wire-y guitar ("Get By"), slinky electronics ("Scream"), sunny grooves ("We Can't Ever Die"), and powerful percussion ("I Want a Taste") to gauzy, entrancing effect." In Bardo is outSeptember 16 and can be pre-ordered now on CD and LP and digitally through iTunes now. Earlier this month, Pigeons and Planes premiered White Arrows' latest single "Nobody Cares" and said, "the track encapsulates their psychedelic pop tendencies perfectly, with the catchy chorus rising up from a swirling cacophony of electronic elements, bright guitar, and pitched down vocals...Although it's a carefully constructed song, a loose organic feel still prevails, with tinges of melancholy shot through the otherwise warm-weather vibes-perfect for the end of summer." "Nobody Cares" is also streaming and available to share on SoundCloud. Last month, White Arrows played MTV's VMA Artist to Watch Concert at The Avalon in the Los Angeles. The band performed alongside Bleachersand Charli XCX. Pervious bands that played at this event include The Neighbourhood, New Politics, and Wildcat! Wildcat!. White Arrows is Los Angeles' Alt 98.7 Artist In Residence for the month of September. All month long they will posting the latest news on the band and their upcoming release. White Arrows also just announced a fall headlining tour in support of In Bardo. The upcoming tour will include stops in major west coast cities including San Francisco, Portland, Seattle and more. All shows are listed below. Bardo is defined as a transitional state of being, the phase of existence between death and rebirth. It marks the end of one thing and the beginning of another. It represents an evolution, which is why the title of White Arrows' second album, In Bardo, is so appropriate. The Los Angeles indie rock band found themselves in a new plane of being after touring extensively since their inception, hitting the road with bands such as Cults, White Denim, The Naked and Famous, and performing at festivals like Coachella and Sasquatch. The band finally grounded themselves enough to create a cohesive work that reflected the musicians' present mindset. Songs like "Leave It Alone" represent the musicians' current mindset and inspirations. For White Arrows, In Bardo is the transition. It marks the end of one thing and the beginning of another.

Sacred Bones announces deluxe CD version of David Lynch's Eraserhead
SACRED BONES RECORDS PRESENTS
DAVID LYNCH & ALAN R. SPLET'S
ERASERHEAD: ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK RECORDING
AVAILABLE AS DELUXE CD 9/16/14
PRE-ORDER
David Lynch's Eraserhead rests firmly at the top of that canon of American underground culture for which there is no genre. A staple of the dark underbelly of popular cinema that was originally only viewable at arthouse screenings or on the Midnight Movie circuit, Eraserhead is a truly unadulterated offering; and much of its sensation lies beyond the purely visual realm. The stark, dusty black and white images put forth are caked with and submerged in a dense jungle of industrial hums, buzzes, screeches and screams.
Eraserhead is a narrative made up of two intertwined veins: one of bleak and beautiful pictures elegantly painted in gray and black; and one of blankets of sublime, enveloping noise and static, the tinkering of Fats Waller organ rolls echoing in the background.
To lay in the dark and listen to this dizzying succession of blissful noise is a different way to get “lost” in the vast space of then the visuals of the film itself. It’s no stretch to consider this soundtrack an experimental, early industrial masterpiece. Eraserhead ’s individual passion and personal tone shines through even in the thickest moments of fierce static, an audio undertaking that took Lynch and sound designer Alan Splet years to perfect. Though Eraserhead’s most famous piece of music is undoubtedly Peter Ivers’ unforgettable, oft-covered haunting ballad “In Heaven,” and the most exciting attribute of this edition of the soundtrack is no doubt its expansion; during the process of transferring the audio tapes, an unreleased recording from Ivers was discovered. It had not been heard since it was originally performed, over three decades ago. After working for years to expose and foster the dark, brooding sounds that exist in the current underground, nothing could make us more proud than to share with our audience this, a new look at one of our most cherished influences; the soundtrack to David Lynch’s Eraserhead.
Finally available as a deluxe CD from Sacred Bones Records after 2012's long sold out vinyl edition.
CD out 9/16. CD comes with 16 page booklet, double sided poster, in a gatefold CD sleeve.

The Acid Drops Lovers Anonymous Remix, New LA Show

PREMIERED BY THUMP
NEW LA SHOW ANNOUNCED
TOUR DATES ON SALE NOW
WATCH THE TOUR TRAILER HERE
DEBUT ALBUM LIMINAL OUT NOW

“a stunning debut album.” – Beatport
“Serendipity brought the three together, and each has brought different expertise and experiences to the table. The result is gorgeous” – NPR
“A wonderful melding of the three artist’s talents.” Pigeons and Planes
“super chilled-out neo R&B” – Brooklyn VeganThe Acid have dropped a deep yet euphoric rework of “Fame,” this time from Lovers Anonymous. Not much is revealed about Lovers Anonymous other than it’s a newly formed collaboration between an established artist and his/her lover. The Acid have spent the summer touring Europe and Australia to snowballing applause and are gearing up to bring their live four-piece home to the US. Following a series of dates with Alt-J, the band have just announced a headline show in Los Angeles at Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever on October 22nd, 2014. The Acid say, "Signing with Mute for America and now coming to play alongside Alt-J in these amazing venues couldn't be a more perfect beginning for our debut on home soil."
The Acid’s debut full length Liminal is out now via Mute in the US and Infectious for the rest of the world. Download and share Lovers Anonymous remix of “Fame” here . Watch the tour trailer here .
The Acid came together from three separate worlds, joining together through a profound synchronicity. They are globe trotting, Grammy nominated DJ & Producer Adam Freeland, creator of subversive crossover hit 'We Want Your Soul', spearhead of a scene and label boss of Brighton's Marine Parade Records; Californian Polymath Steve Nalepa, whose time is split as a producer, composer, professor of music technology; and Australian, LA based artist and producer Ry X, whose ‘Berlin EP’ was released in late 2013 to softly bubbling acclaim, and who, with his other alter ego as one half of Howling, created an eponymous club smash and toured heavily through 2013’s festival circuit.
The sound they’ve created together is truly genre-less, a term used with increasing frequency but never quite so well suited as to them. The guitar, at times three or four of them layered together, seamlessly blends in amongst bass shudders, beat pulses and elongated drones as Ry’s vocals beatify then rage amidst delicate synth lines and pitched down field recordings of street noise, birds, the clacking of bicycle spokes and the creaking of a leather jacket. The Acid weren’t even sure what they were composing at first, as Ry describes, “It’s like painting before you know what you are painting. You’re stuck in the process before you’ve got an idea of what you’re making. The beauty of that is complete freedom.” US TOUR DATES:
10/10: Brooklyn, NY – Rough Trade
10/14: Vancouver, BC – Orpheum Theater (w/ Alt-J)

Johnny recently premiered the video for "Easy Money" on Pitchfork and Rolling Stone describes the track as having, "...throbbing bass, funky guitar and a catchy melody to mask lyrics about the downfalls of greed."
'Playland' is Marr's second solo effort and the follow up to last year's critically acclaimed (included the honor of being named as NME's Godlike Genius) Top 10 debut album 'The Messenger.'Work on the album commenced in London in spring 2014 as soon as the year of touring in support of 'The Messenger' came to a close. It finds Marr continuing the creative connection that was forged on 'The Messenger' with collaborator and co-producer Doviak, as well as the other musicians who performed on the album and accompanying tour.
Fender has also revealed details of Johnny's new special edition signature green Jaguar guitar, which is on sale now. Further details, as well as a link to purchase the guitar, can be found HERE.
