Charlotte de Witte voted The World’s
No. 1 Techno DJ and No. 9 DJ
in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs poll 2025
Ahead of her 5 shows multi-venue London Takeover +
3 sold-out Los Angeles shows around album release
The final single before her eponymous debut album drops
November 7th on KNTXT - pre-save album HERE

Right after taking home the No.1 Techno DJ award for the sixth year in a row, and breaking into the DJ Mag poll’s top 10 for the first time to claim the No. 9 spot, the Belgian star reached the dance stratosphere and releases her new single “The Heads that Know” feat. Comma Dee. It’s the final LP single to keep excitement building before her self-titled debut album Charlotte de Witte drops on November 7th on KNTXT. Today’s single includes an exclusive “They Know Acid” version on vinyl.
“The Heads that Know” also marks the start of her 2nd-5th October London city takeover. Following the insane success of her NYC takeover, she plays 5 shows in 4 days in London, including The Shard, Fabric, The Cause, Magazine (tickets here) + one TBA. This mix of intimate cultural spaces and large uncompromising venues celebrates de Witte’s love of the city and its rave scene over her 10+ year career.
“I'm very excited to launch this single in London, Charlotte says. “The city has played a massive role in my growth as an artist, and I’ve had many memorable shows there, from the smaller and more intimate venues like Village Underground to Tobacco Dock, Printworks and Drumsheds and many summer festivals. The London crowd is special. I'm looking forward to playing different sets in different settings in your wonderful city to celebrate the launch of the third single of my upcoming album. This will be one for the books.”
This third release from the LP, is already a set highlight for de Witte, going back to May’s pop-up secret set on the Williamsburg Bridge. It features Welsh producer/DJ Comma Dee, D&B, Hip Hop, Rap, & Grime exponent. Says Charlotte, “it’s a poetic dispatch from the shadows. It's for the ones who move with quiet power. This track is a tribute to the underground. It's for the ones who move with certainty. It's for the heads that know.”
“The Heads that Know” feat. Comma Dee: Fast, rattling techno spiced with spacey sine wave sounds and an acid dose in the breakdown, supports a hypnotic high synth theme and Comma Dee’s rhyming rap double quatrain through a crescendo/diminuendo swoop. The vinyl includes an exclusive acid rework.
On top of everything, she just announced a second date for Ghent (Belgium) Flander’s Expo in 2026, after nearly selling out the 23k capacity venue for February 6th.

Penelope Trappes shares single ‘The Mercy of The Hagetisse’
‘A Requiem: Æternum’ companion EP out October 31st via One Little Independent
Single ‘The Mercy of The Hagetisse’ out now

“There are passages of profound beauty and clarity amid the maelstrom” - Pitchfork
“Meditative moments of almost spiritual intensity shifting into caustic tumult” - The Wire
“This is a deeply personal record. But the magic of A Requiem is in the way Trappes carries us with her - out of the darkness and into the light” - Bandcamp Daily
Following the release of April’s critically acclaimed ‘A Requiem’, Brighton-based Australian artist Penelope Trappes returns with a selection of companion pieces that make up ‘Æternum’, out October 31st via One Little Independent Records. The accompanying material includes seven previously unreleased compositions, drawn from the prolific and emotionally raw recordings that birthed ‘A Requiem’.
New single ‘The Mercy of the Hagetisse’ invokes sacred pagan energies through a solitary drum. Penelope explains; “Agnes Haus and I tapped into the lyrics about the Hagetisse, aka hag, or witch. She takes mercy on a lost soul in the form of a symbolic mercy killing by summoning the spirits from beyond, leading them to an ego death.”
Agnes Haus continues; “We wanted to depict a hedge rider traversing the boundary between civilisation and the beyond, instigating the demise of a male protagonist. Penelope created the hagstone-face mask and we thought it could say so much by doing very little in its slow death.”
‘Æternum’ is available as a “black label” edition vinyl featuring a minimal all-black outer sleeve and black printed labels. Limited copies, now sold out, include a unique, signed and numbered Polaroid photo of Penelope taken by Agnes Haus affixed to the jacket.
The title, ‘Æternum’ (Latin for “eternal”) evokes the record’s enduring thematic gravity and conceptual link to grief, healing, and the passage of time. “I wrote about 35 pieces in the sessions for A Requiem,” Trappes explains, “some as minimal studies, some as mood trials, and some as full songs that just didn’t seem to completely fit on the album. I love all these songs so much, but I think they are of a time and a place that maybe I don’t want to linger in too long for future releases, hence letting them out in the world loosely forever tied to ‘A Requiem’.”
Written during an isolated period in the Scottish Highlands, Trappes composed these pieces across meditative, candle-lit sessions. Amidst deep introspection and a desire to cleanse long-buried trauma, she found herself drawn instinctively to the cello, despite no formal training. “The nerve-like strings of the cello became external chords of my vocal folds,” she reflects. “I scratched on them, leaned into them, and conjured all of the textures I could muster.”
The ‘Æternum’ tracks are rich with power and experimentation, extending the legacy of ‘A Requiem’ as a living, spiritual document. The new material spans sparse folk meditations, haunting choral drones, and lyrical exorcisms. These tracks reveal deeper layers of Penelope Trappes’ creative and emotional world, expanding the intimate universe of ‘A Requiem’. They feel like unearthed relics, ghostly and rhythmic invocations. There’s a sense of freedom in their unfinished edges and cathartic immediacy, as if Trappes is inviting the listener to peek behind the curtain. ‘Æternum’ captures the fragile beauty of an artist working in complete vulnerability and trust in her instinct.
‘A Requiem’ received support from the likes of Pitchfork, The Wire, MOJO, Uncut, Record Collector, Bandcamp Daily, NPR, PROG, Electronic Sound, The Line of Best Fit, Crack, Clash Magazine, Nowness, Stereogum, Gorilla vs Bear, Resident Advisor, Futurism Restated, BBC Radio 3’s Unclassified, 6 Music’s Forever Dark, New Music Fix Daily, Lauren Laverne, Deb Grant, Tom Ravenscroft, and many more. Penelope hosted a listening party and Q&A event with Cabaret Voltaire’s Stephen Mallinder. This summer, she embarked on her extensive EU and UK tour.
‘A Requiem’ is a musical service in honour of the dead, a sanctuary Trappes built for herself to explore familial chaos and history. “I was looking for an equilibrium between a ‘heaven' and a ‘hell’” she explained at the time, “screaming out to the wisdom of our foremothers - surfacing and leading me into true strength and beauty. I listened to the sorrow closely. Death is a part of our reality. Inevitable. Omnipresent. But nightmares can be beautiful”.
Despite formal vocal training in opera and jazz when she was younger, it wasn’t until after her daughter was born that Penelope began writing her own music. She says coming into music later has been eye opening, and she laments the fact that women past 30 are too often discarded by the music industry; “Creativity doesn’t go away when you get older, it flourishes, changes, grows like all of life,” she says, “it amazes me that this is still something for society to wrap their heads around.”
Penelope released her acclaimed trilogy, ‘Penelope One’, ‘Two’ and ‘Three’, on Fabric’s Houndstooth label. In between instalments of her ambitious trifecta, Penelope released a clutch of both experimental and more dreampop-oriented EPs. She demonstrated her versatility in the extended 25-minute deep-listening composition ‘Gnostic State’, and the arpeggiated electronics and minimalist songwriting on the ‘Eel Drip’ EP, which was accompanied by image and film inspired by Francesca Woodman’s 1970s series of nude self-portraits with eels. She also released an album of reworks, ‘Penelope Redeux’, with contributions by Cosey Fanni Tutti, Mogwai, and Nik Colk Void, and the cassette ‘Mother’s Blood’, a vocal-free meditative reinterpretation of ‘Penelope Three’ concluding with the live-scoring of a one-hour film at Sonica Festival.
Penelope’s fourth album, ‘Heavenly Spheres’, was released in 2023 on her own Nite Hive imprint, and was composed using just piano, voice and an old reel-to-reel tape deck during a two-week artist residency for Britten Pears Arts at the house where the composer, teacher and musicologist Imogen Holst lived in Aldeburgh, Suffolk. 2024’s ‘Hommelen’, the austere and beautifully severe result of her Halldorophone residency at EMS Stockholm, was released on Paralaxe Editions.
In the live realm, Penelope’s music expands into tidal waves and surges of tension with hypnotising gothic live visuals by Agnes Haus. Select shows are accompanied by a live band, and other times performing solo, she has shared the stage with the likes of William Basinski, Mary Lattimore, and HTRK, and she has extensively toured the UK, Australia, and Europe over the last five years, including a pivotal live performance with the London Contemporary Orchestra at Southbank Centre.

OCTOBER 2, 2025—To mark the 20th anniversary of his cult classic debut album We Have Sound, multi-instrumentalist and creative iconoclast Tom Vek releases We Have Sound Remixed today via StrataSonic Records — a 10-track remix album in its original order that reimagines the influential original for a new era.
Led by remix singles from Dave Glass Animals, Everything Everything, and IS TROPICAL, the project is complete with a stacked lineup whose own sonic identities trace back to Vek’s genre-hopping, DIY spirit — including Gus alt-J, Baths, Porij, and more.
We Have Sound is widely credited as one of the seminal albums that pioneered indie electronic music. Dave Bayley of Glass Animals calls the album “one of several responsible for us going on to make our music.” Gus Unger-Hamilton of alt-J called contributing to this project “a true privilege.”
We Have Sound Remixed is a rare kind of tribute, curated by Vek himself, with each artist handpicked and invited to reinterpret the record that helped shape their creative DNA. The result is a celebration of We Have Sound not only as a pivotal album of the 2000s, but as a blueprint for the fusion of guitar music, DIY electronica, and sharp-edged pop that now defines a generation of alternative acts. The project cements Tom Vek’s role as a cult figure whose music remains current — and deeply influential — two decades on.
We Have Sound Remixed Tracklist

2. I Ain’t Saying My Goodbyes (Is Tropical Remix)

(Oct 2nd 2025) - Today, Empress Of is back with a new single “Blasting Through The Speakers.” The new song, co-produced by Empress Of and Mike Sabath (Raye, Shawn Mendes), comes on the heels of a difficult year following the tumult of the Altadena fires and is a pop song full of satisfying release. “Every single sound / Is getting me through / I’ve been fucking down / For a while / I’m not gonna drown when I’m floating in you.”
Speaking about the single Empress Of shares, “I’m very excited to share this song with the world. This year I learned a lot about the things that matter. Music has always been one of those things. After the fires in Altadena, I couldn’t make music for some time. I was afraid to go there. When I made this song, it felt like music was a friend I hadn’t talked to in a while, but was always there to pick up the phone. Thank you for listening to me all these years. Thank you music for always being there.”
Empress Of is heading on tour with Lorde for a string of North America dates beginning next week in Atlanta with shows in Los Angeles, Berkeley, Portland, Seattle and more.
The new single opens up a new chapter for Empress Of and follows her celebrated album For Your Consideration via Giant Music, a bi-lingual album named Best New Music by Pitchfork who described the record as “dazzling.” The album embraced camp and fantasy and saw Empress Of taking on the role of executive producer. Empress Of has collaborated with Top 40 pop artists like Khalid, cultural icons like Blood Orange, Shygirl, Lewis OfMan, DJ legend Boyz Noise, and many more. She’s also opened for Rina Sawayama and Carly Rae Jepsen on their North American tours in addition to wowing audiences at festivals like Outside Lands, Austin City Limits, Portola and Corona Capital.

MAQUINA. drop new single "misfit", online now with 12" vinyl out Oct 31st on Fuzz Club. More live dates announced.
- Limited edition 12" vinyl out October 31st via Fuzz Club
- Playing live throughout the Autumn

Lisbon trio MAQUINA. return with new single "misfit", online today and to be released on October 31st via Fuzz Club on a limited 12”. The 12" comes with a fold-out film poster and backed by a club-ready remix courtesy of Parisian electronic duo Leroy se Meurt on the flipside.
Clocking in at nearly 9 minutes of raw, driving power, "misfit" is a menacing, slow-grinding clash between floor-shaking EBM and industrial krautrock repetition. It arrives following their 2023 ‘PRATA’ LP, the recent vinyl reissue of their debut ‘DIRTY TRACKS FOR CLUBBING’ LP and in the midst of relentless touring across Europe and the UK – including festival appearances at Primavera Porto, Eurosonic, Roadburn, Trans Musicales, Leffingeleuren, Into The Great Wide Open, Sonic Blast, Grauzone and lots more announced for this Autumn.
“This song was created with the idea of a soundtrack for a horror movie in mind”, MAQUINA. say: “We were invited to record a track right after finishing the recording of our second album PRATA. At the time, we didn’t have any song or idea ready, but we accepted the challenge. Around that period, Boy Harsher had released ‘The Runner’ and was putting out ‘My Animal’, which was very inspiring for us to start shaping our ideas. It was also a time when we were watching a lot of horror films, and I think all of that combined helped the idea develop naturally. The song tells a story of a hunt, an evil mind; perhaps a stalker, or simply paranoia. PLAY IT LOUD!”

Getting Killed
https://geese.lnk.to/GettingKilled
(October 2nd, 2025) – Last night, Geese made a special guest musical appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, performing standout lead single “Taxes” at BAM's Howard Gilman Opera House during the show’s annual return to Brooklyn. The band’s late-night performance follows a traffic-stopping pop-up show over the weekend that brought out a crowd of over 3,500 to Brooklyn to celebrate the release of their widely-celebrated third studio album Getting Killed. The album was named Pitchfork’s Best New Music in their review and received widespread praise from the likes of Billboard, NPR, The Atlantic, The FADER & many more.
Ripping up the expected blueprint the band set with their 2021 debut Projector and the cowboy rock follow-up of 2023’s 3D Country, Getting Killed puts the very idea of conventional rock structures in the band’s crosshairs. Working at a feverish clip with renowned producer Kenneth Blume over a month-long stretch, Geese emerged wielding a sharp, novel new vision for the genre, sporting wry smiles and a resolute confidence. The band spent several days with GQ to talk about the process of making the record and their rapid journey over the last few years from high school friends to formidable rock stars.
Next week, Geese will kick off their ‘The Getting Killed Tour’, the biggest headline tour run of their career, with sold-out headline shows across North America. Launching in Burlington, Vermont next Friday October 10th and concluding with back-to-back hometown shows at Brooklyn Paramount on November 20th and 21st, the majority of the tour is now sold out. The band will also be embarking on the European leg of their Getting Killed tour in March 2026. Next year, Geese will also make festival debuts at Coachella and Primavera respectively. Remaining tour tickets are available HERE.
The band’s 2023 sophomore album 3D Country has become a modern classic, with Rolling Stone calling it “one of the best New York rock albums of the past few years” and Paste calling it the “best rock record made by Zoomers ever.” Geese first started teasing music from the new album at festival sets earlier this year, corralling fans into an absolute frenzy as they speculated about new Geese music on the heels of frontman Cameron Winter’s widely-lauded and mildly befuddling solo debut Heavy Metal. Critically-acclaimed by The New York Times, Pitchfork, i-D, GQ & more, Winter’s idiosyncratic, soul-searching personal journey led him back to Geese, with newfangled ways to careen his voice into the chaotic comedy that is Getting Killed.
Watch Geese on Jimmy Kimmel Live! above and see below for the full run of Getting Killed tour dates and more album info.

FAOUZIA ANNOUNCES DEBUT ALBUM 'FILM NOIR' OUT NOVEMBER 7
FAOUZIA ANNOUNCES DEBUT ALBUM FILM NOIR OUT NOVEMBER 7
FOLLOWING SOLD-OUT PARIS EVENT
PRE-SAVE HERE

Official FILM NOIR Album Artwork
(October 2, 2025 – Los Angeles, CA) Today, Moroccan-born classically trained multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and vocalist, Faouzia, officially announces her highly-anticipated debut album, FILM NOIR, releasing November 7. Pre-save HERE.
Says Faouzia on FILM NOIR, “I have waited over 7 years for this moment - every obstacle, every defeat, every triumph all poured into one project. When I first started writing this album I approached it with one question: If this were the only project I left behind, what would it sound like? What would I eternally be proud of? I wrote this album as though my survival depended on it, because in many ways it did. When you’re on the brink of losing yourself, everything — your purpose, your identity — is at stake. FILM NOIR transcends lyrics and melody. It is a culmination of every thought and every story I so urgently needed to tell - my one and only testimony.”
Faouzia conjures a visual and cinematic world through her intricate and purposeful lyricism as well as her dramatic and melancholic melodies – with her unmistakable vocals taking center stage. The album features newly released singles “PEACE & VIOLENCE” and the critically-acclaimed “UNETHICAL,” which has garnered over 10M global streams and video plays combined and landed Faouzia on the cover of Spotify’s Pop All Day playlist, as well as Faouzia’s first independent single, “PORCELAIN.”
Faouzia first let fans in on the major news this past Monday during her sold-out event at Paris’ iconic Théâtre Les Étoiles. The intimate evening found Faouzia perform fan-favorites such as “Fur Elise,” “Tears Of Gold,” and “Minefields” as well as FILM NOIR standouts “PORCELAIN,” “UNETHICAL,” and “PEACE & VIOLENCE.”
Stay tuned for more music and announcements to come from Faouzia!

Blending her multilingual roots with a boundary-shattering vision, Faouzia has been spotlighted by Variety and Entertainment Weekly as an ‘Artist to Watch,’ with Variety further declaring her “an international artist in the truest sense.” Just last year, Faouzia captivated millions on China’s hit competition series, Singer, ultimately being one of the finalists. She is now the second most streamed international artist in China behind Taylor Swift.
After introducing herself in 2019 with “Tears of Gold,” Faouzia has captivated audiences with breakout singles like “RIP, Love” — surpassing 150 million global streams and video plays combined — along with fan favorites “Don’t Call Me” and “Plastic Therapy.” Her genre-defying collaborations span from John Legend (“Minefields”) and Kelly Clarkson (“I Dare You”) to David Guetta (“Battle”), Galantis (“I Fly”), Alan Walker (“Last Song”), and most recently Illenium & G.E.M. on “Still Breathing,” further cementing her status as a true crossover artist.
Now fully independent with her debut album FILM NOIR releasing on November 7, Faouzia conjures a visual and cinematic world through her intricate and purposeful lyricism as well as her dramatic and melancholic melodies – with her unmistakable vocals taking center stage. Offering a peek behind the curtain of this new era, her latest singles “PEACE & VIOLENCE,” “PORCELAIN” and “UNETHICAL” set the stage for what’s to come. “UNETHICAL” has already garnered over 10M global streams and video plays combined and landed Faouzia on the cover of Spotify’s Pop All Day playlist.
Faouzia has worked with fashion brands such as Chanel, Versace, Valentino, Prada, Max Mara, and more. She performed alongside John Legend at the Chanel Cruise 2021/2022 Runway Show in Dubai.
STRANGE LOT recruits Die Spitz for a Bonnie & Clyde moment
PSYCH-SHOEGAZERS STRANGE LOT SHARE "HATIN' YOU" VIDEO
STARRING KATE FROM DIE SPITZ AS THE BONNIE TO HIS CLYDE
FROM NEW 7" VIA
GREENWAY RECORDS (FRANKIE AND THE WITCH FINGERS, ACID DAD, GIFT) AVAILABLE NOW

STRANGE LOT — the Austin-based band whose “Western-sun-scorched take on psych-rock” (KUTX) has garnered a local cult following — share a new video today for "Hatin' You," the A Side to their brand new 7" vinyl on Greenway Records (Frankie and the Witch Fingers, L.A. Witch, Acid Dad, GIFT). They'll also head out on tour this November, more info below. Listen to / watch “Hatin' You” here.
"Hatin' You," produced by Alex Maas (The Black Angels) and mixed by Jim Eno (Spoon), showcases STRANGE LOT’s signature, droning psychedelic sound with swirling shoegaze guitar, heavy garage percussion, and reverb that’s as dream-like as the lyrics singing through it.
It also features an acting cameo from Die Spitz’s Kate Halter. Of the collaboration, STRANGE LOT's Dominic Mena says, "I had this idea in my head for the video where it played out like a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde story. It tied in naturally with what “Hatin’ You” makes me feel - where you’re in love with someone, or you care about them, but you also know it’s not good for you in the end, it just doesn’t work in reality. For the female lead, it needed to be someone badass, strong, cool, and genuine."
He continues, "Kate from Die Spitz came to mind immediately. Strange Lot and Die Spitz have shared the stage many times here in Austin, and Kate has always come across as super down to earth and chill in conversations. It felt like she was the natural fit for the role & I knew she’d nail it... Kate was just a natural in front of the camera - she locked into that modern Bonnie energy, confident and cool, and really carried the feeling that in the end she’s going to succeed and get what she wants, even if it means leaving love behind. It came together as a really fun collaboration between friends, all of us working off the spirit of the story and the song."

This 7" is released in anticipation of a debut album that boasts some big-time collaborators: Maas, Eno; mixing by Dave Fridmann (Tame Impala, Flaming Lips, MGMT), and mastering from GRAMMY-winner Howie Weinberg who’s worked with Smashing Pumpkins, Prince, and Nirvana.
STRANGE LOT has shared stages not with acts from The Black Angels to The Boogarins, and is a staple in the Austin music scene. They've played stages from Leveiation Fest to SXSW. Earlier this year, STRANGE LOT released a live session with more tracks from the album — watch it over at FLOOD here.
STRANGE LOT began as the bedroom project of singer/guitarist Dominic Mena in Phoenix before moving to Austin in 2019. The band has grown into the present lineup of Dominic Mena, Tim Lormor, bass guitarist Nate Hahn, and Jordan Fitzpatrick on synthesizer and guitar. They’ve opened for The Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Jesus and Mary Chain, A Place to Bury Strangers, and Kikagaku Moyo — a tidy collection of acts that triangulates their sound.
