Automatic bring their singular modern touch, political prowess and a healthy dose of dark humor to their third album Is It Now? out this Friday, September 26 via Stones Throw. Izzy Glaudini (synths, vocals), Halle Saxon (bass, vocals), and Lola Dompé (drums, vocals) believe that the message of change is best served with a backbeat and a cheeky groove. The new collection cleverly uses their perky minimalist grooves and pop melodies as a Trojan horse to wheel in political commentary about the world’s oppressive structures: automated warfare, mindless consumerism, and the political influence of oil.
New single “Black Box” infuses this post-punk spirit with spacey trip-hop beats and an irresistible melodic refrain. Izzy says, “The title ‘Black Box’ refers to the black box in a crashed plane. The repetitive synth is supposed to suggest a plane gliding as it crashes/ an alarm distress call. I was listening to the Leonard Cohen album The Future a lot around the time the lyrics were written. It's a pretty straightforward critique of people that have sold out on a large scale, specifically within creative industries. Thierry Mugler said, “art used to tell money what to do, now money tells art what to do” and the world is a less interesting place because of it.”

Working with a producer for the first time, Loren Humphrey (Tame Impala, Arctic Monkeys, Nice As Fuck, Cameron Winter), and balancing solo lives and varying temperaments, Automatic recorded Is It Now? in New York and L.A. They cast their net of influences wider, too, nodding to longtime favourite Patrick Cowley as well as A Certain Ratio, Air, and the moment in late-1970s British music when dub collided with punk.
Since their last record, 2022’s Excess, Automatic toured with Tame Impala, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Marías and IDLES. The band is currently in the midst of an extensive co-headlining tour with Sextile this fall and just announced a headline run in the UK and Europe.
Is It Now? doesn’t pretend to have all the answers, but it might just inspire you to ask better questions — or at least dance yourself awake in the search.

Vijunns is the audio-visual project of LA-based music producer and art director Jeremy Raskin. Since 2018, Raskin has explored the terrain between ambient and techno, carving out a space beyond rave euphoria and the contemplative depths of electronica rich with lucid imagery and immersive storytelling.
This unity of sound and concept reveals new territory for Raskin on Collapse, a self-described 'soundtrack to the end of the world' that explores the tensions defining our current socio-political epoch.
Raskin continues to expand his post-IDM palette with modular and 90s-era digital synthesis, lacing the sonics of his prior works with an undertone of darkness, which lends a weighty grit to his trademark sound. Rather than indulge in IDM's solipsistic introspection, he instead applies its sharp edges and diffuse vapors to render a world in disarray.
Collapse unfurls cinematically, establishing an expansive, desolate space. On "Industry," sinuous chords shift and simmer while booming bass and insistent percussion apply the pressure. "Undone" introduces soft, tender bodies; delicate melodies and gentle timbres winding through the ruin. "Tessellation" brings us somewhere sacred and mythic, where supernatural sounds and abstract rhythms induce a sense of transcendental purpose.
Ultimately, Collapse arrives. Heart rending, gut-wrenching, potent, and final. As the credits roll, we are treated to Auragraph's remix of "Industry," where the prolific darkwave mainstay morphs the original into a slab of club-ready breaks which maintains every ounce of the atmosphere established over the course of the LP.
Raskin’s visual sensibility is a statement within itself. The artwork provokes meditations on mass surveillance, emergent technologies, and the infinite feedback loop of content that primes a world teetering between a liberated, high-tech future and an alienated, inhuman dystopia.

Charlotte de Witte releases single “The Heads that Know” feat. Comma Dee, out October 2nd on KNTXT on vinyl/digital. It’s the final LP single to keep excitement building before her self-titled debut album Charlotte de Witte drops on November 7th.
The single release marks the start of her 2nd-5th October London city takeover. Following the insane success of her NYC takeover, she plays 5 shows in 4 days in London, including The Shard, Fabric, The Cause, Magazine (tickets here) + one TBA. This mix of intimate cultural spaces and large uncompromising venues celebrates de Witte’s love of the city and its rave scene over her 10+ year career.
“I'm very excited to launch this single in London, Charlotte says. “The city has played a massive role in my growth as an artist, and I’ve had many memorable shows there, from the smaller and more intimate venues like Village Underground to Tobacco Dock, Printworks and Drumsheds and many summer festivals. The London crowd is special. I'm looking forward to playing different sets in different settings in your wonderful city to celebrate the launch of the third single of my upcoming album. This will be one for the books.”
The new single, the third release from the LP, is already a set highlight for de Witte, going back to May’s pop-up secret set on the Williamsburg Bridge. It features Welsh producer/DJ Comma Dee, D&B, Hip Hop, Rap, & Grime exponent. Says Charlotte, “it’s a poetic dispatch from the shadows. It's for the ones who move with quiet power. This track is a tribute to the underground. It's for the ones who move with certainty. It's for the heads that know.
“The Heads that Know” feat. Comma Dee: Fast, rattling techno spiced with spacey sine wave sounds and an acid dose in the breakdown, supports a hypnotic high synth theme and Comma Dee’s rhyming rap double quatrain through a crescendo/diminuendo swoop. The vinyl includes an exclusive acid rework.

Maps, aka James Chapman, has opened the second chapter of his long-lost horror soundtrack, Welcome To The Tudor Gate, out on Mute on October 31, 2025.

The album was recorded back in 2014 and lost until now. He explains, “Inspired by a film that I was never able to trace, I set out to create a mysterious, strange and uneasy soundtrack, with a nod to the fantastical. I imagined a protagonist venturing into a foreboding land of immense forests, filled with mysterious beings - where magic is real and witchcraft is feared.”
Welcome To The Tudor Gate is James Chapman’s soundtrack to a half-remembered film, watched late into the night and forgotten for years until nebulous stills and scenes came back into his mind, so, to fill in the gaps, he decided to create its soundtrack.
The album is a 40-minute piece, separated into “chapters.” It flows together with no gaps, following the film’s hero throughout their journey. “Chapter Two” is an immersive voyage further into the world of the Tudor Gate. The tempo increases slowly throughout, eventually evolving into a triumphant cascade of music and magic.
He goes on to expand, “The 'Tudor Gate' of the title was originally envisaged to be a 'community' or 'cult', influenced by films like Blood On Satan's Claw and The Wicker Man. The music itself is influenced by ‘60s and ‘70s horror soundtracks to films by Dario Argento and John Carpenter but also to writers like H.P Lovecraft and the world of 'weird fiction’.”

In recent years, Danny Brown has solidified his status as one of rap’s most fearless innovators. In 2023, he released SCARING THE HOES, a critically acclaimed collaborative album with JPEGMAFIA, followed by his deeply personal sixth solo record, Quaranta, praised by Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, The New York Times, NPR, Stereogum, and more for its vulnerability and clarity. Since the release of Quaranta, Brown brought his headline tour, The Quaranta ‘24 Tour, across the United States and Europe for a sprawling 44 dates, bringing his singular energy to major cities around the world. With both projects earning widespread acclaim, he’s continued to push boundaries stylistically while opening a new chapter in his career marked by honesty, resilience, and reinvention.
Since trailblazing into the hip-hop scene with XXX, released on Fool’s Gold in 2011, Danny Brown has whipped ravers into frenzies across the world, appeared on late-night TV, worked with some of the biggest names in music, and donned multiple magazine covers. Stardust marks another groundbreaking chapter for Danny Brown, an artist who has continually redefined indie rap on his own terms. September 23, 2025: Today, Omnivore Recordings announced A Single Woman: The Complete Elektra Recordings, the definitive version of Nina Simone’s final studio album, out November 7 on CD and Double-LP. The release features 11 bonus tracks, 4 of which are previously unissued.
Nina Simone burst into the world with 1959’s Little Girl Blue, and music would never be the same. For over five decades, Nina entertained, enthralled, and educated listeners across her extraordinary recording and performance career.
After a triumphant concert at New York’s Carnegie Hall in 1992, Nina was approached by Elektra A&R executive Michael Alago (whose previous work at the label included Tracy Chapman and Metallica). When asked if Nina was ready to record again, she replied, “Get me the money… then we can talk!” Modeled around two of Simone’s favorites, Frank Sinatra’s A Man Alone (The Words And Music Of Rod McKuen) and Billie Holiday’s Lady In Satin—with the common element that both were recorded with full orchestral accompaniment, the sessions began.
Backed by a 50-piece orchestra, Simone recorded the material that would comprise A Single Woman with producer Andre Fischer (Natalie Cole’s then-husband and former drummer for the band Rufus.) The ten tracks chosen from the sessions were revelatory, weaving songs about love in the style only Nina Simone could conceive and deliver. Simone recorded more material during the sessions, including covers of Bob Dylan, Prince, The Beatles, and Bob Marley, pointing to a potential follow up, but—sadly, A Single Woman would be her final studio album before her passing in 2003.
A Single Woman was reissued in 2006, adding seven of those performances left behind. Now, four more previously unissued recordings from those sessions have been added to create A Single Woman: The Complete Elektra Recordings—21 tracks on CD and double-LP. Newly remastered, this collection also contains new liner notes from the British Ambassador of Soul, David Nathan, outlining both the recording of the album, but also recounting his nearly three-decade relationship with Dr. Simone—beginning when he formed the UK Nina Simone Appreciation Society in 1965.

(Sept 22, 2025) - Following a summer that’s seen them ignite festival stages across Europe, Soulwax announces a string of UK and European headline shows. Launching at the tailend of 2025, Soulwax will bring their acclaimed three-drummer live show to some of the continent’s most iconic venues. The news arrives alongside their double single “Gimme a Reason,” a propulsive track that builds relentlessly towards a huge, euphoric finale, and “Meanwhile on the Continent,” a percussive cut defined by fast, sharp drumming and razor-edged precision. Both tracks showcase the band’s fearless ability to fuse live performance with electronic production, creating something visceral, loud and uncompromisingly forward-looking, defining characteristics of their new album All Systems Are Lying due October 17th via DEEWEE / Because Music.
Launching December 17th, their EU/UK run includes a special three-night residency (and approaching full sell-out) at Brussels’ Halles de Schaerbeek this December, before continuing in January with shows at Manchester’s O2 Victoria Warehouse, London’s O2 Brixton Academy, Paris’ Salle Pleyel and Amsterdam’s AFAS. For early ticket access, fans can sign up to the Soulwax mailer before September 23rd, at 6pm UK time via LINK. The artist pre-sale will start on Wednesday, September 24th, at 10 am UK time for 48 hours. General sale will commence at 10am UK time on Friday, September 26th.
Formed by brothers David and Stephen Dewaele, Soulwax have spent more than two decades quietly building a creative universe: a band (Soulwax), DJs (2manydjs), a record label (DEEWEE), and a sound system (Despacio, alongside James Murphy). They’re widely regarded as one of the most forward-thinking remix and production teams of the 21st century — known for meticulous studio craft, boundary-breaking live shows, and projects that challenge what a band can be.
Their forthcoming album, All Systems Are Lying, was built entirely from modular synths, live drums, tape machines and processed vocals. Across its 14 tracks, it captures the electricity of a band playing electronic instruments live, loud and loose, while holding a fractured mirror up to a world where truth is bent by filters, algorithms and noise.

The Daft Punk Experience is a new immersive tribute coming to Fortnite to celebrate the Grammy-winning duo’s iconic sound, vision, and legacy. It is a fully interactive playground that includes multiple rooms with different ways to experience Daft Punk’s music. Spanning 31 songs from across the group’s discography, this marks the biggest musical experience in Fortnight’s history. The experience grand opening is on September 27 at 2:00 PM ET, with doors opening to the pre-event lobby at 1:30pm ET.
Players get transported into a galactic portal through a monolith in Battle Royale, or can dive in at any time by choosing the “Daft Punk Experience” tile directly from Discover. Centered around a dance floor destination hub, the festivities kick off with a supercut from Daft Punk’s legendary Alive tour and Alive 2007 album.
The Daft Punk Experience gives fans and players a chance to enter into this retro-futuristic realm celebrating the band’s legacy, reimagined for the virtual world. Remix Daft Punk’s previously released music and create mashups of Daft Punk’s songs within Fortnite at Dream Chamber Studios, blast hordes of robots with a soundwave laser in the Robot Rock Arena, make a LEGO® music video at Around the World, or hit the Daft Club to dance ‘til dawn. You’ll also find furniture from longtime Daft Punk collaborators Hervet Manufacturier throughout the experience.
A new Daft Punk Bundle will also be available in the Fortnite Shop starting September 25 at 8 PM ET. Accessories include the signature GM08 helmet, outfit, and accessories (both in Fortnite and LEGO styles); TB3 helmet, outfit, and accessories (both in Fortnite and LEGO styles); along with instruments and a “Get Lucky (feat. Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers)” Jam Track.

Miki Berenyi Trio released their debut album Tripla earlier this year to widespread international acclaim spanning Pitchfork, Stereogum, Vulture, Under The Radar, SPIN, BrooklynVegan, FLOOD, Hearing Things, Talkhouse, NPR “Into Music”, KEXP, The Guardian, Uncut, MOJO and more. The band is thrilled to return to the states and kick off their North American tour with the Raincoats’ Gina Birch and the Unreasonables on October 10 in DC.
Miki says: “Moose is breaking his no-fly embargo so gig-goers will get to enjoy the full and proper Trio. I’m sad to say that the costs involved in touring Stateside have become crippling for smaller bands like us, so this will be our last ever outing in North America. I wish we could have covered more cities, but I’m incredibly grateful to the many fans who have messaged on my socials to say they will make the journey to see us play. We’ll be sure to include a bunch of Lush tracks in the set as a last hurrah and a thank you to long-time fans.” Tickets on sale now.
In celebration, the band has unveiled new single “Doldrum Days”. “The lyric is about the spaces between places where interesting things can happen,” says Ollie. “The scenario is borrowed from Erskine Childers’ novel The Riddle of the Sands, but really it’s about being lost, stranded, unmotivated and bored, and what a potentially fertile or dangerous place that can be”.
Miki Berenyi Trio, or MB3 for short, is named after its lead singer – a direct way to convey the presence of the former singer/co-guitarist of Lush, and one of the most instantly recognisable faces of the ‘90s. However, the songwriting is entirely a three-way collaboration by Miki Berenyi, KJ ‘Moose’ McKillop and Oliver Cherer, as the album title highlights, while acknowledging the mother tongue of Miki’s father: Tripla is Hungarian for ‘triple’.
Tripla’s richly layered, imaginative and uniquely slanted strain of dream pop is an often euphoric and sometimes melancholic mix of guitars and electronica, fronted by Miki’s instantly recognisable vocal, overlaid with an often profound and sometimes abrasive view of our age. But whether fearing the effects of macho aggression, the solipsism of social media and the race to environmental destruction, particularly for our children, or mourning lost loved-ones and middle-of-the-night anxiety, the shoegaze pioneers continue to imbue their politically charged legacy with upbeat optimism and a sense of humour.
