DIE ANTWOORD ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM, RELEASE "BANANA BRAIN"
DIE ANTWOORD ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM
MOUNT NINJI AND DA NICE TIME KID
ALBUM TO BE RELEASED SEPTEMBER 16th FEAT. THE BLACK GOAT AND GOD

"When Ninji, ¥o-landi and God hooked up with The Black Goat and started recording Die Antwoord's 4th album around 2 years ago the mood of the tracks we started banging out was rough and tough and mischeivious and wild and hard and dark and at that point we were going to call this album RATS RULE, because in life you get the champions and the underdogs and in our minds we sometimes feel like 1 level below the underdogs in this fucked up pop world, but we also know our time is coming, and soon we gonna take over this whole bitch. So anyway, then we made some more tracks and the core of the album stayed all dark and ratty but a new layer oozed out around our dark core that was kinda mental and lunatic and random and juicy and 2 much fun and so we changed the name of our album to WE HAVE CANDY. Then recently while we was finishing up this album another layer exploded out of our dark wild juicy core like a giant supernatural mega aura and suddenly our album was so epic and sometimes vulnerable and sometimes sweet and romantic and so brave and full of mystery and win. Like when you going through hell, and the mission feels impossible, but you not allowed to fail, and all you can do is keep your chin up and keep going, then when you least expect it you emerge from this dark never-ending hole, and... you made it! And you can't believe it, and you've changed inside and you're better and stronger and calmer and more fun than you were before you journeyed merrily in2 hell. And as we stepped out into the light, a little bruised and battered, but still ok, we blinked and tried to focus then looked at each other and laughed out loud. Then ¥o-landi said, "Why don't we call the album MOUNT NINJI & DA NICE TIME KID?" And Ninji's shoulders relaxed and he slumped back into his chair and said, "You a fuckin genius! I love you!" - NINJA & YO-LANDI

Elephant Stone announces new album, shares track and tour dates

Montreal psych-rock trio Elephant Stone are excited to announce their fourth full-length Ship Of Fools , which will see a digital release on September 16 via Elephants on Parade and a physical release on November 25 via Burger Records. To ring in the release, the group has shared album opener " Manipulator ." The track is available to stream or embed HERE . The group has also shared a lyric video for the track with the simple statement "Pokémon GO = Mind Control." The lyric video is available to watch or embed HERE . Elephant Stone has also announced a short run of dates in the northeastern U.S., which are listed below. More dates will be announced soon.
Evolution, change, artistic growth, exploration -- these words are associated with all great rock and roll bands, but they're quickly becoming synonymous with Elephant Stone, the Montreal trio led by singer/bassist/songwriter/sitar player, Rishi Dhir. With Ship of Fools, Dhir and his bandmates --Miles Dupire (drummer/backing vox) and Gabriel Lambert (guitar/backing vox) -- have solidified Elephant Stone's place among the greats as innovators who are unafraid of challenging themselves and their audience.
As " Manipulator " attests, Ship of Fools presents a new Elephant Stone emphasizing catchy grooves and vocal melodies that smack of both infectious pop and dance. But Dhir's lyrics have lost none of their sophistication: his social commentary makes " Manipulator " music for the head and heart.
The rest of Ship of Fools follows suit. The creation of its eleven tracks, as Dhir says, allowed him to embrace his true identity as "pop songwriter" whose tunes are custom built for the dance floor. Elephant Stone's refined vision on Ship of Fools is the realization of the gifts of a great band. Add the talents of producer Marcus Paquin (Arcade Fire, The National) to the works, and the result is an album chock full of stylistically diverse cuts that could all stand on their own as hit singles. Indeed, " The Devil's Shelter (ft. Alex Maas of The Black Angels)," " Where I'm Going ," and " Andromeda " have already been released as singles to critical acclaim. They explore the deep reaches of space rock ("Andromeda"), aggressive dance music ("The Devil's Shelter"), and sophisticated pop songcraft ("Where I'm Going").
Formed in Montreal in 2009, Elephant Stone have toured extensively throughout North America and Europe and are prominent members of the burgeoning psych rock scene. Dhir has recorded, performed, and toured with indie rock icons (Beck), legendary cult bands (The Brian Jonestown Massacre), and contemporary psych titans (The Black Angels, The Horrors). Their first album, The Seven Seas , was nominated for the prestigious Polaris Music Prize in 2009.

Moderat Shares Âme Remix of "Running," + VR Video
MODERAT
(MODESELEKTOR + APPARAT)
REVEALS ÂME’S REMIX OF
“RUNNING”
“a must-hear for sensitive electronic-soul lovers” – Pitchfork
“one of the most forward thinking acts in electronic music today” – Popmatters
Moderat, the alliance of Berlin’s electronic heavy weights, Modeselektor and Apparat, released III , the final album of their trilogy, this year via Mute/Monkeytown. After performing to thousands each night across Europe and North America, the trio is back with a new remix of their pulsing track “Running.” This reworking comes from Berlin’s finest duo Âme. It’s a masterfully crafted piece, dropping Sascha Ring’s vocals boldly in the middle of the track between carefully constructed layers – euphoric brassy synths, melancholic pads and shuffling hi-hats all create the perfect balance between experimentation and control. Listen to the Âme remix of “Running” HERE .
Moderat’s “Running” blends wistful melodies with the collective excitement of a night at a summer festival. The song’s sonic palette spans intricate percussions, cascading, yet overtly recognizable synths, a driving kick drum and a wealth of feel-good vibes. This is music for the main stage: a highly emotive kind of pop, built for dancing, but never simple. As described by Sascha Ring (aka Apparat), “‘Running’ is about being part of a mass. A mass that constantly needs to move to function, but one that’s not deciding directions by itself.”
Moderat also recently released a virtual reality version of their “Reminder” video via the New York Times VR app, taking the dystopian sci-fi fantasy of the original video to new levels. Pfadfinderei, Moderat’s long-time creative partner, teamed up with SEHSUCHT Berlin to use Unreal Engine (a state-of-the-art game engine) coupled with motion capture sequences to create seamlessly integrated 3D scenes. Get the New York Times VR app to watch the VR version HERE . Watch the original video for “Reminder” HERE . Moderat Tour Dates (tix on sale via www.moderat.fm.):

REVEALS ÂME’S REMIX OF
“RUNNING”

Heidi Lynne Gluck Announces Debut LP Out August 26 + Releases First Single
Heidi Lynne Gluck Releases Single
“ Mercury Rising ”

Announces Debut LP Pony Show
Out August 26
Kansas City based singer-songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and producerHeidi Lynne Gluck has released single “ Mercury Rising ” today via Elmore Magazine .The track comes off of her debut full length Pony Show which is slated for releaseAugust 26 via Lotuspool Records. The album was produced, composed, and recorded by Gluck. Her sophisticated arrangements provide a strong foundation for melancholy lyrics sung with a delicate, self-assured and authentic voice.
Pony Show’s narrative touches on perseverance amid the captivity of love, loss, and limbo. Born in Manitoba, Canada, Gluck’s songwriting carries forward the tradition of her heroes and fellow Canadian exports, Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, and Neil Young. She weaves resilient and vulnerable lyrics over sophisticated, majestic arrangements. At the album’s catchiest, it calls directly back to the traditions of 70s piano-driven pop. At its most minimal, it leaves little to the imagination with nothing to distract from the monogamy-challenging detachment of the lyrics.
A veteran player and session musician, offering bass, guitar, piano, keys, background vocals, accordion, and lap steel on over 30 albums, Gluck has collaborated with Juliana Hatfield’s Some Girls, Margot & the Nuclear So and Sos, Lily & Madeline, Simrit, and many more. Heidi released her first solo EP, “The Only Girl In The Room” in 2015, featuring her understated vocal style, clever arrangements, and confessional lyrics.
Check out the first single “Mercury Rising” and keep an eye out for Pony Show available on August 26 in physical and digital formats.

Mark Stoermer, bassist of The Killers, will digitally release his second solo album Dark Arts on August 5th on his own record label St. August Records. PRESS HERE to watch the music video for lead single "Spare the Ones That Weep," which premiered today on NME. Dark Arts is available to preorder now along with a re-issue of Stoermer's first solo album, 2011's Another Life - PRESS HERE to pre-order. "Spare The Ones that Weep" tiptoes between a glitched-out shuffle with resounding organ and Stoermer's vulnerable vocals, carrying the titular line gleefully lifted right from Jean-Luc Godard's sci-fi noir classic Alphaville. "The lyrics take on multiple levels," Stoermer explains. "There's a fantasy element. It's a daydream from someone watching the film who wants to be inside of it."
Dark Arts' 13 songs comprise a mosaic of sixties-induced psychedelia, bluesy desert rock swagger, plaintive lyrical poetry, and lithe and lush cinematic orchestration. The album builds on the foundation of Another Life, while expanding the sound beyond that record's folk-tinged roots. Co-produced by David Hopkins of Bombay Heavy and recorded at The Killers' Las Vegas headquarters Battle Born Studios and Studio at The Palms, Dark Arts weaves together a twisting and turning trip through a myriad of styles.
Since the release of Another Life, Stoermer has not only released 2012's Battle Born with The Killers, but he performed alongside Dhani Harrison on Conan for "George Harrison Week" in 2014. He went on to handle bass duties for The Smashing Pumpkins and performed around the globe on their Monuments to an Elegy Tour. Dark Arts track list:1. Alchemical Formula2. Drifting Caterpillar3. Spare The Ones That Weep4. 39 Steps5. Avarice/What's Coming6. The Break In7. Take My Time8. Blood and Guts (The Anatomy Lesson)9. Tow The Line10. Are Your Stars Out?11. Fingerspitzengefühl12. SARA JACKSON-HOLMAN SHARES "RUN" VIA BROOKLYN VEGAN
ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM 'DIDN'T GO TO THE PARTY'
OUT 9.16 ON EXPUNGED RECORDS
Photo Cred: Myles KatherineLISTEN & SHARE: Sara Jackson-Holman - "Run"
"Gorgeous string arrangements... a lush, groovy track"
- Brooklyn VeganToday, Sara Jackson-Holman premiered "Run," the first single off her upcoming album, via Brooklyn Vegan. 'Didn't Go To The Party' comes out September 16th on Expunged Records.
A classically-trained pianist, as well as a pop singer-songwriter, Sara Jackson-Holman weaves together her varied musical loves (including Kate Bush, Carole King, Serge Gainsbourg and Erik Satie) into a rich and playful fabric.
"I was really inspired by Serge Gainsborg-esque strings for this song," she told Brooklyn Vegan ..."I wanted 'Run' to feel like it could be in a soundtrack to a warm-hued 70s movie, or just a great song to drive to."
In part, 'Didn’t Go To The Party' explores the arc of romantic relationships. One such relationship of inspiration was with her longtime collaborator in the studio. They worked on the album even after their relationship had ended, and, for certain, the twilight of that romance was entangled with the creative process.
There is a subtle yet important coda to this narrative of solitude and singleness, found on “Run.” At first blush, it may sound lyrically like a traditional pop song. In actuality, it’s a love song for Sara’s female friends, the ones who supported her and inspired her through rocky emotional terrain. When she sings: "if you want a partner in crime, I will be your girl," or more simply, "this love is different," it’s with a distinctly feminine energy in mind.
String arrangements from Jherek Bischoff (Xiu Xiu, Amanda Palmer) bolster the elegant and cinematic quality of Sara’s songwriting.
Pre-orders start this Friday, 7/22 on iTunes. Every pre-order includes a free instant download of the song "Run".
