Someone (I can't remember who) had the idea that we re-visit, re-edit the entire album for posterity's sake. We got as far as the first track before we couldn't be arsed anymore and gave up....it does sound fucking mega though!" The Special Edition CD, Deluxe Download and Super Deluxe Box Set formats also include the mysterious 'Mustique demos' - 14 previously unreleased album demos recorded on the Caribbean Island in 1996. "They bring back memories of what turned out to be - if nothing else - a bloody awesome holiday!" says Noel of the demos. 'D'You Know What I Mean? (NG's 2016 Rethink)' is available to stream and download now and as an instant grat with album pre-orders. Pre-order 'Be Here Now' Chasing The Sun Edition here OASIS 'BE HERE NOW'Arguably the most anticipated British album release of all time, 'Be Here Now' was recorded with producer Owen Morris at Abbey Road Studios, Ridge Farm Studios, and Air Studios between October 1996 and May 1997. The previous summer, Oasis has played to over 250,000 people over two nights at Knebworth House, in what for many people were the defining gigs of the 1990s. Originally released at midnight in the UK on Thursday August 21st 1997, 'Be Here Now' sold 700,000 copies in just 3 days and remains to this day the fastest selling UK album on release. To date it has sold over 8 million copies worldwide. Oasis released three singles from the album, two of which - 'D'You Know What I Mean?' and 'All Around The World' - charted at No.1 in the UK, with 'Stand By Me' reaching No.2. The release date of the new Chasing The Sun edition, October 7th, is the 20thanniversary of the first day of the 'Be Here Now' recording sessions at Abbey Road Studios. Respected music journalist Hamish MacBain, who has written new sleeve notes for the album, recently commented, "20 years on from Knebworth, 'Be Here Now' still stands as the most unique album in the Oasis back catalogue, and a unique album in the history of rock'n'roll" HIGHLIGHTS OF THE BONUS CONTENT INCLUDE: Unreleased Mustique DemosRecorded in Mustique in early 1996 by Noel Gallagher and Owen Morris, these are the original demos for 'Be Here Now'. The tapes of the demos were mislaid shortly after the completion of recording, and remained effectively lost until recently unearthed in the depths of the label's archive. None of these original versions of the songs have ever been heard by anyone outside of the band before. D'You Know What I Mean? (NG's 2016 Rethink)'D'You Know What I Mean?' entered the UK chart at No.1 in July 1997 and is Oasis' third biggest selling single. Noel Gallagher has re-worked the track for this new edition of the album. The artwork for the single has also been re-imagined by sleeve designer Brian Cannon, using an outtake shot from the original cover session. Stand By Me (Live at Bonehead's Outtake)Unreleased intimate version of 'Stand By Me' recorded at Bonehead's home studio. Setting Sun (Radio Broadcast) A rare acoustic version of The Chemical Brothers' 1996 No.1 single which Noel Gallagher co-wrote and sang. My Big Mouth (Live at Knebworth Park)This track made its live debut at Knebworth, the first time fans heard material from the forthcoming 'Be Here Now' album. THE CULT Announce Dates with Guns 'N Roses, Additional Headlining Shows
THE CULT ANNOUNCE DATES WITH GUNS N' ROSES:ALIVE IN THE HIDDEN CITY: NORTH AMERICA 2016 NEW ALBUM HIDDEN CITY RELEASED EARLIER THIS YEARCOMPLETES ACCLAIMED TRILOGY

THE CULT have announced a wide array of summer tour dates including four upcoming stadium shows with Guns N' Roses, as well as festivals and their own headlining concerts. The iconic band--founding singer Ian Astbury and guitarist Billy Duffy along with bassist Grant Fitzpatrick, drummer John Tempesta and keyboardist/rhythm guitarist Damon Fox--is on the road now in support of this year's
Hidden City
album. Hidden City is their 10th studio album and the final chapter of the band's trilogy of releases which began with 2007's
Born Into This
then 2012's
Choice of Weapon
. The album has already produced three singles: "Hinterland," "Dark Energy" and"Deeply Ordered Chaos." Of the album and its first single, ASTBURY told
Billboard.com
, "'Hinterland' is a place both real and imagined, a hidden city symbolic of a new Rome. Through the eyes of several witnesses we observe a young woman as she realizes her enlightened self in a dystopian dream world. 'Hinterland' is filled with symbolism, reflecting a new aeon in the shift of human consciousness as we realign with our planet's natural rhythms." THE CULT continue to evolve and do things in their own style. Not tethered to the latest hit single or trend. They are a way of life, an ethos. Adventurers more than careerists. As ASTBURY eloquently puts it, "Our post-modern roots have kept the creative process vibrant, and we continue to evolve." DUFFY says, "Like all Cult albums--since Ian and I began writing together--we try our best to honestly reflect what we are feeling, doing and listening to. Hidden City is no exception and I'm thrilled to have had a creative part in such a critically acclaimed--but, more importantly--Cult-fan-acclaimed album. The dialogue between us all continues..." Of the new album, Mojo said it's "Some of the fiercest, nastiest, most powerful - and also starkly beautiful - music of their career...The album's extraordinary howls of pain and anger, its dramatic apocalyptic visions and quiet interrogations of the meaning of life and death, align perfectly with the times." Third Man Records to reissue early Detroit Cobras records
THIRD MAN RECORDS TO REISSUE EARLY DETROIT COBRAS RECORDS
Continuing our commitment to shining a celebratory light on classic and influential music from Detroit, Third Man Records is honored to re-introduce the world to the undeniable importance of the Detroit Cobras. We will reissue the Detroit Cobras debut records - Mink, Rat or Rabbit and Life, Love and Leaving - on August 26th on glorious black vinyl at a record store near you, and available at thirdmanstore.com for pre-order today.
The band has experienced many roster revisions over the years, especially when it comes to their touring configuration, but the perfectly irreverent Rachel Nagy on vocals and Mary Ramirez, one of the greatest guitarists to ever come out of Detroit, have been near constants and the creative force behind these two records. The first of the two releases also include noted Detroit photographer Steve Shaw (The Fondas) on guitar, the prolific Jeff Meier (Rocket 455, Nathaniel Mayer) on bass, and the pure drum work by Damian Lang (Two Star Tabernacle) making for a line-up of pure perfection.
As one of the earliest salvos in the great Detroit garage explosion of the turn of the century, the Detroit Cobras'
Mink, Rat or Rabbit
(1998) is a landmark album. Comprised solely of covers songs (as has always been the band's MO) the Cobra's spirited takes on Motown classics ("I'll Keep Holding On" originally by the Marvellettes), garage punk laments ("Bad Girl" originally known as "Bad Man" by the Oblivians) girl group tear-jerkers ("Easier to Cry" originally by the Shangri-Las) and New Orleans soul standards ("Break-a-way" originally by Irma Thomas) and the end result is nothing short of a staple that any record collection is empty without.
Originally released in 2001, the Detroit Cobras' Life, Love and Leaving is the group's best-known effort, coming at a time when bands like the White Stripes and Dirtbombs were also releasing seminal albums that started picking up recognition outside of their collective hometown. Hitting hard with songs by soul heavyweights like Solomon Burke ("Stupidity"), Mary Wells ("Bye Bye Baby"), Otis Redding ("Shout Bamalama"), the inimitable vocals of Rachel Nagy would no-doubt be a template from which folks like Amy Winehouse would work from years later. A landmark collection of covers.
To wet your whistles, here is a previously unreleased song, which has been pressed as a bonus track on Life, Love and Leaving titled "This Old Heart."

Allah-Las premiere new video/single on Interview Magazine; new album out Sep. 9
ALLAH-LAS PREMIERE VIDEO “COULD BE YOU” ON INTERIVEW NEW ALBUM CALICO REVIEW OUT SEPTEMBER 9 VIA MEXICAN SUMMER
NORTH AMERICAN AND EUROPEAN TOUR DATES CONFIRMED[image error][image error] “The vintage sounds of Allah-Las combine the harmonies and hooks of the British
Invasion with the atmosphere of a West Coast psychedelic band.”—NPR’s “World Caf锓They consistently deliver impressive performances; their harmonies, guitars,
and percussion are all point-perfect.”—Pitchfork“Cramming as much guts and passion as possible into three and a half minutes or
less - while burning it’s own path, with brooding, lonesome songs, tightly restrained
surf inflected musings on girls and freedom”— The New Yorker “Los Angeles garage-rock gurus Allah-Las tap into an alternate reality where the world
is but a California dream. Their crunchy, loose-groovin’ tunes evoke desert trips, motorcycle
rides, surf safaris, and casual come-ons dished out by coiffed strangers.”—SPIN“Vintage West Coastism...[with] a distinct twinge of melancholy reminiscent of The Velvet Underground.”— Flood Magazine “slow-rolling and melancholic.”—Consequence of Sound“[Allah-Las has] turned the so-cal attitude into their own personal projection of freedom, girls, and glory days spent by the shore.”—Flaunt “Could Be You,” the new video from Allah-Las’ forthcoming album, Calico Review , premieres today via Interview Magazine , who says, “Allah-Las is a bona fide Los Angeles rock band...creating down-to-earth tracks that sound as though they emerged from a sultry garage in Southern California.” View post HERE and share HERE. Of the new track the band notes, “the purpose of ‘Could Be You’ is to look at the concept of letting go and not resisting change just because it compels you to change yourself, which many people find difficult.” The new record is outSeptember 9 on Mexican Summer and is now available for pre-order here:http://smarturl.it/CalicoxWebstore. The album was recorded in Los Angeles’ historic Valentine Recording Studio, which had lain dormant since 1979. For Calico Review, Allah-Las experiment with new instrumentation adding viola, harpsichord, Mellotron and theremin to their sound. The twelve tracks on Calico Review demonstrate how the group has pivoted from focusing on specific influences to crafting songs that reflect their own feelings of freedom, grit and melancholy. The result showcases their evolution as songwriters and arrangers. Allah-Las is composed of Pedrum Siadatian (vocals/lead guitar), Miles Michaud(vocals/rhythm guitar), Matthew Correia (vocals/drum), and Spencer Dunham(vocals/bass). The band was formed in 2008 while three of the members were working at the legendary Amoeba Music record store. “We were all music fans before we were musicians,” says Correia. “We’ve spent a lot of time listening to music, and understanding what works for us and what doesn’t.” Their 2011 self-titled debut was nominated for independent album of the year by the A2IM Libbys. Of the debut, Pitchfork said, “it sounds like an effortlessly wistful batch of starry-eyed, minor-key beauties that gently ruminate on the usual young-guy subjects: sex, freedom, the ways the former can interfere with the latter and vice versa.” In 2014, their sophomore LP Worship The Sun received critical acclaim from The Los Angeles Times who said the album “…lets the band’s trippy vintage rock absorb all sorts of new Southern California influences. Latin drumming, L.A.’s midcentury avant-garde beach culture and Laurel Canyon harmonies.” LA Weeklyhas noted, “their sound is steeped in the pop sensibilities of The Zombies and The Kinks, laced with Northern Soul, lo-fi funk and the ever-enduring influence of Arthur Lee and Love.” The band has toured extensively with sold out tours and high profile festival dates throughout North, Central, and South America, Europe, South Africa, Russia, Mexico and Israel. For the upcoming North American dates will have the group TOPSsupporting in September and October. See below for full tour dates.current dates. CALICO REVIEW TRACK LIST1. Strange Heat

Credit: Laura Crosta July 21st, 2016 - (Los Angeles, CA) - Acclaimed singer, songwriter, and musician Rachael Yamagata will release her fourth album, entitled
Tightrope Walker
, on September 23rd via Frankenfish Records/Thirty Tigers. The album will be available for pre-order tomorrow, July 22nd, from all major DSPs. Those who preorder the album will receive the album's lead single "
Nobody
" as an instant grat download. With its themes of perseverance, relentless, and owning your own power,
Tightrope Walker
(Yamagata's first album since 2011's
Chesapeake
), represents an artistic rebirth both lyrically and sonically for the Woodstock, NY-based artist. "When [French high-wire artist] Philippe Petit was asked why he walked the tightrope he responded, 'Why - there is no why.' This really f--d me up," Yamagata says. I was devoting an entire theme of the tightrope walker to my new record: defending the weary spirit and empowering the underdog while using the high wire artist as a symbol of how to get through, but it hadn't yet occurred to me to contemplate the why of getting through or the why of even my own art. Beyond that, why continue in an industry that I'd not yet conquered or pursue this when you have to give up so much to do so? Something propels our survival and search for happiness and it's this desire to overcome what threatens to break us that continues to fascinate me. If you're thinking of quitting - anything - this is your record," she says. The album began when Yamagata had what she describes as a "mystical vision" at home in Woodstock. "I'm not religious, but I am spiritual and I love the signs," she says. "Did I 'see' a sweat lodge where strangers experienced a cathartic healing after facing their own traumas? Yes I did. They weren't pains devoted solely to heartbreak in relationships, but also to the desperation of a youth getting pummeled by loss of a loved one, failure of a dream, betrayal by those you thought were your allies - human condition struggles. I started to write and 'Tightrope Walker' was born. My musical identity started to shift and the sweetheart of tragedy transformed into grit and hope. My lyrics have become both vicious and optimistic and my musical identity has gone off the map. A 16 year-old indie rocker recently described it as 'a new genre of music,' and that suits me just fine." For her second independent release, Yamagata launched a PledgeMusic campaign (ongoing since 2014) and became producer, den mother, and manager, turning her "hermit house in the woods" into a studio. In the process, she rounded up an illustrious array of guest performers, including such Grammy Award winners as Owen Biddle (The Roots), Matt Chamberlain, and Victor Indrizzo, as well as celebrated musicians Ben Perowsky (Rufus Wainwright), Zach Djanikian (Amos Lee),Kevin Salem (Dumptruck, Yo La Tengo), Russell Simins (Jon Spencer Blues Explosion) and others. Yamagata self-produced
Tightrope Walker
and brought her long-time producer, 3x-Grammy nominee John Alagia (John Mayer, Dave Matthews Band) onboard halfway through the process as co-producer. Yamagata also co-directed and co-edited the video for the album's first single "Nobody," which premieres today. Watch it
HERE
. The video uses dance to symbolize the transformative power of breaking through as we harness the energy of our guides/ muse/ inner potential and go after our dreams. To tackle the project, Yamagata called upon her Philadelphia friends Kate Carbone and Michele Romond. "Kate runs Hoopskirt Productions and Michele has been a longtime choreographer and dancer at Chez Dance Studios in New Jersey," Yamagata says. "The Chez Dance team had previously used my songs in performances and it has always been a dream of mine to find a way to collaborate."
Despite having the impressive resume of a major-label artist who turns independent, becomes a PledgeMusic legend, gets profiled in two Berklee College of Music marketing classes, performs for President Obama, earns praise from artists like Gregory Colbert and gurus like Deepak Chopra, and who has played Carnegie Hall and Madison Square Garden and shared stages with Patti Smith, Michael Stipe and Pete Townshend, what defines Yamagata most is this: "I have fully stepped into my role as healer, optimist, entrepreneur, writer, producer, and spirited badass. And that is my 'why,'" she says.
Yamagata will hit the road for an extensive North American tour this fall. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, July 22nd at 10:00am local time HERE . Please see below for all upcoming tour dates.

Kate Fagan's Best-Selling New Wave 7" Being Reissued August 8th On Manufactured Recordings
LONG OUT OF PRINT NEW WAVE CLASSIC
"I DON'T WANNA BE TOO COOL" BY KATE FAGAN
7" Reissue With Bonus Tracks Coming Out August 8th
Exclusive Premiere: "Too Cool" Performed Live In 1982 (Video)
Watch it at Flaunt Magazine
Before she was opening shows for The Clash and The English Beat as the founder/ front woman of long-running Chicago ska trailblazers Heavy Manners, Kate Fagan released the cult new wave single I Don’t Wanna Be Too Cool on the tiny local imprint Disturbing Records.

Upon its early-1980 release the pogo-ready “Too Cool” single was immediately embraced by local club DJs and radio stations and tastemaking record stores like Chicago’s legendary Wax Trax, where it became the best-selling release by a local artist ever. The flipside, “Waiting for the Crisis,” also gained notice for its raw musical style and politically charged Reagan-era lyrics, which still resonate today.Kate wrote the title track after moving to Chicago from New York in the late 70’s. “I pretty much came to visit Chicago and fell in love with the scene and never left,” remembers Fagan. “At the time I’d been working at New York magazine and was getting dismayed watching the CBGB scene give way to the whole Studio 54/velvet rope thing. So I spontaneously moved to Chicago, which was much more inclusive and everyone wasn’t standing around peering at each other from behind their shades. But eventually I saw that same kind of divisive hipster culture start to creep in. ‘Too Cool’ was my reaction to that.”
Fagan bought a cheap bass guitar and started writing songs intuitively, recording them at Chicago’s Acme Studios. There, she’d meet the fellow artists with whom she’d form the Disturbing Records label, which released the “I Don’t Wanna Be Too Cool” single as well as early singles by Heavy Manners.
Manufactured Recordings is excited to present this seminal U.S. new wave/post punk single, reissued here with two unreleased bonus tracks Kate recorded in the early 1980’s with members ofMy Life With The Thrill Kill Kult and Scarlet Architect. “I thought the reissue was a prank,” says Fagan. “I didn’t fully believe it until I flew to New York to meet them in person. It’s particularly gratifying because after the original single sold out in 1980 I did a second run of 1,000 copies out of my own pocket, and they were all lost in a house fire that destroyed literally everything that I owned at the time. So this is like unfinished business, and I think the songs are as relevant today as they were then.”

MYRKUR covers Bathory's "Song To Hall Up High" - new EP 'Mausoleum' out on Relapse Aug 19
MYRKUR: "Song To Hall Up High" (Bathory Cover)
Upcoming EP Recorded in Emanuel Vigeland Mausoleum
Out August 19 on Relapse

Listen: "Song To Hall Up High" on Soundcloud
Danish composer Amalie Bruun, better known as MYRKUR, has reimagined Bathory's "Song To Hall Up High". This version was recorded live in the historic Emanuel Vigeland Mausoleum in Oslo, Norway alongside eight other beautifully dramatic and stripped-down acoustic reinventions of songs from her critically-acclaimed, masterful debut full-length M.
Mausoleum was captured in a cold, dimly-lit tomb covered in morbid frescos that depict the circle of human life from conception til death all with the accompaniment of the storied Norwegian Girls Choir and Håvard (ex-Ulver) on guitar. Mausoleum is an incredible showcase of MYRKUR's sublime yet haunting voice in a truly chilling, unrivaled atmosphere.
More on MYRKUR:
From the darkness of Scandinavia emerges MYRKUR. Hailing from Denmark, the one-woman project signed to renowned independent label Relapse Records in 2014 off the strength of just one EP, its eponymous debut (released September 2014). Envisioned and realized by classically-trained multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Amalie Bruun,MYRKUR combined the rawness of second-wave black metal bands like Ulver and Darkthrone with a natural, ethereal sonic beauty. MYRKUR introduced a wholly unique perspective on the genre of black metal--one that immediately put her on the map and caught the attention of listeners and publications worldwide.
Though the word "myrkur" means "darkness" in Icelandic, Bruun's music is far from monochromatic. With its distinct sense of Nordic isolation, MYRKUR's compositions are at once brutal and delicate. Choral and folk elements abound, lending the music a mystical, legendary quality and an untouchable equilibrium between dark and light MYRKUR's influences range from nature to traditional Scandinavian folklore to Norse mythology and far beyond.
That power was more than evident on MYRKUR's debut EP, but fully came into its own on Bruun's first full-length, M , released by Relapse in August 2015. Featuring production and guest appearances from renowned metal legends such as Krystoffer "Garm" Rygg (Ulver), Teloch (Mayhem/Nidingr) and Christopher Amott (Arch Enemy), M showcases Bruun's learned and mature perspective on black metal alongside her prodigious compositional and vocal talents.
In its 8/10 review, Decibel Magazine characterized M as "a black metal record that respects tradition without drowning in it." Publications including NPR, Stereogum, Pitchfork, Spin and dozens of other outlets worldwide have shared this sentiment, hailing M and MYRKUR as the very thing they stand for - not a drastic reinvention, not an atavistic homage, but a unique, timeless, and true expression of black metal.
With two acclaimed releases, US and EU tours with Behemoth and Deafheaven, and a number of worldwide festival appearances under her belt, MYRKUR is ready to help her homeland reclaim its role as a global leader in extreme music.
