Crowded House using Facebook Live for sneak peak into private studio rehearsal next week

Crowded House are delighted to announce they will be streaming LIVE an upcoming rehearsal at their private studio in Auckland ahead of their Induction into the ARIA Hall of Fame and the bands four SOLD-OUT Encore shows at Sydney's Opera House via the band's Facebook page.
The Facebook Live stream facebook.com/crowdedhouse will commence at 10:30pm Pacific on November 15/1:30am Eastern on November 16 and will include the band's rehearsal plus a fan-led Q&A. Fans wanting to submit questions can call in phone numbers to be announced via the band's socials early next week.
Crowded House frontman Neil Finn said,"On the cusp of our special Encore performances on the steps of the Sydney Opera House, we're excited to have an opportunity to play and engage with our friends and supporters around the world live streaming for an hour from the heart of rehearsals, unscripted and intimate as hell. It will be a joyous occasion that can be shared by one and all."
Viewers of the stream will be able to catch a sneak peek into the band's imminent Sydney performances, which are set to occur nearly 20 years on from the band's Farewell to the World 1996 tour and the set-list which will be drawn from the bands six studio albums,  Crowded House, Temple Of Low Men, Woodface, Together Alone, Time on Earth ,  I ntriguer  which along with the 1999's rarities album Afterglow, have all recently been released with will be released as deluxe editions. 
All albums have been expanded to include previously unreleased studio recordings, home demos, live tracks, b-sides and other rarities. In physical format, each album will contain a 36-page book showcasing unseen photos, new interview transcripts with Neil Finn and Nick Seymour, liner notes from esteemed album producers and journalists, alongside insights from the creator of the benchmark setting cover art for each album; Nick Seymour. Today Lost Under Heaven (LUH) release a new video to accompany the track "Lament" that featured on their critically-acclaimed debut album released earlier this year,  Spiritual Songs For Lovers To Sing. 

The Patrick Blades-directed video sees the band pace through the desolate boarded up streets of Toxteth in Liverpool, a setting that perfectly reflects the highly politicized themes of the song: that of dissolution, hopelessness, (and rather poignantly after the events of this week) a defiant stance against world leaders.

The video marks the end of an incredibly successful year for Lost Under Heaven whose debut albumSpiritual Songs For Lovers To Sing (released in May on Mute) and incendiary live performances have garnered them praise from the world’s music press. To celebrate this, the pair – Ellery Roberts and Ebony Hoorn – have curated a one off UK show in Roberts’s home town of Manchester. Titled ‘ACongregation Of Young Dissent’, the show will take place at The White Hotel on December 1. Full itinerary below.

Spiritual Songs For Lovers To Sing  is available now on Mute. The album was produced by The Haxan Cloak (known for his own experimental compositions and work on Björk’s Vulnicura album) on the island of Osea.

Josh T. Pearson's cult band, Lift To Experience, announce full details of the much-anticipated definitive release of their seminal double concept album, The Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads.

Fresh from the triumph of Lift To Experience’s reunion at the Royal Festival Hall in London earlier this year, as part of Guy Garvey’s Meltdown festival, the band returned to the original Texas studio - The Echo Lab in Denton County - where their one and only album release was recorded.

There, the band set out to create a brand new mix of  The Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads  with engineer Matt Pence 15 years after its original release. Full circle, as God intended.

The album was originally recorded live to tape, and Matt Pence was able to mix from those original recordings and capture the energy of the three musicians playing together in the room. Listen closely; you can hear the whirl of Josh’s trademark Leslie amp.

Josh T. Pearson explains, “We went back to the studio, neck deep in the heart of Texas, where Lift recordedThe Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads - remixing the album the way it should have be mixed originally. It's good to have our balls back after years spent being castrated.”

Lift To Experience formed in Denton, Texas, at the end of the last millennium by Josh T. Pearson, Andy Reginald Young and Josh “Bear” Browning. Their rise was fast and their reign was short. Following the release of their long-form masterpiece, the band imploded at the peak of their career due to a series of cruel tragedies. In this short time, however, Lift To Experience achieved high critical acclaim and were so beloved by John Peel that he invited them to record three Peel sessions in just five months, and the band were included in the Best 125 Peel Sessions of all time.

The Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads will be released by Mute on February 3, 2017 with rejuvenated album artwork, an homage to the Texas-based graphics design studio Pen & Pixel famed for their 90’s Southern gangsta rap album covers.

The Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads will be available on vinyl, CD and as a deluxe vinyl box set, which will feature Lift To Experience’s classic 04/15/2001 Peel session as well as their demo EP from 1997.The full-tracklisting:

Lead by outspoken frontwoman, Lydia Night, and comprised of Genessa Gariano on guitar, Sage Chavis on bass and drummer Maxx Morando, the group have left the LA rock scene floored, managing to capture the hearts of jaded rock critics while opening for acts like Kate Nash, Jack Off Jill, Bleached, Pins, Deep Vally and more. With nothing but demos available online, the group are already beginning to generate hype, from outlets like NPR, and with NYLON already heralding them them as a “punk act you should be listening to”.
From the opening moments on a track by The Regrettes, we’re greeted with a wall of guitars, infectious melodies and a wistful nostalgia that continues right until the final notes. Taking cues from acts like Hinds and Hole, there’s a wistful sense of youth and vulnerability that lies at the heart of each song.
A song by The Regrettes is, essentially, a diary entry into Lydia’s life. “My music is a spectrum of every emotion that I have felt in the last year, and you can hear that when you hear the songs. Everything that is happening in my life influences me. It’s everything from boys, to friends, to being pissed off at people, to being really sad. Just everything.”
The most intoxicating draw of The Regrettes is their bashful, heart-on-your-sleeve temperament - writing urgent and fast-paced pop songs with a punk rock mentality. “The way that we write, it’s all based on honesty,” muses Lydia on the group’s punk aesthetic. “If I finish a song, I’ll just leave it - I won’t really go back to it. I like things to feel in the moment and I don’t want it to be perfect. Grammy winning Saharan band Tinariwen have announced the details of their 2017 North American headlining tour. Kicking off on March 30th in Solana Beach, CA, the tour will hit both coasts wrapping up in Pittsburgh on April 21st. The acclaimed band has also unveiled their new single "Sastanàqqàm" from the forthcoming album,  Elwan  which features appearances by Kurt Vile and Mark Lanegan.

"This song is an ode to the Sahara and its Nomads," explains Tinariwen's Abdallah Ag Alhousseyni. "It expresses the needs of the traveller as he crosses the desert on his mount. Essential needs: find water and a way to preserve it, find a good mode of transport. But also the love-hate relationship with the desert, the natural elements and the certainty that we will always go back to it."

In recent years, Tinariwen’s homeland, a Saharan mountain range between north-eastern Mali and southern Algeria, has been transformed into a conflict zone. While the songs on the new record evoke those cherished deserts of home, they were recorded far away in two distinctive creative bursts.

In 2014 Tinariwen stopped at Rancho de la Luna Studios in the desert of California’s Joshua Tree National Park. The location proved auspicious as notable musicians dropped by to add their own touch. Guitarist Matt Sweeny (Johnny Cash, Bonnie Prince Billy and Cat Power), Kurt Vile, musician Alan Johannes, who produced Queens of the Stone Age, a band with whom Mark Lanegan, the other guest has been a singer. All of it honed by engineer Andrew Schepps, who has worked with the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Johny Cash, and Jay Z.  Two years later in M’Hamid El Ghizlane, an oasis in southern Morocco, near the Algerian frontier, the band set up their tents to record, accompanied by the local musical youth and a Ganga outfit (a group of Berber ‘gnawa’ trance musicians).

Elwan  fits into that ‘road record’ category. In a road movie characters travel in search of some truth or revelation but end up reconnecting with their  past. It’s the same for this record, so musically powerful and yet poignant: every song evokes a land that can no longer be found, with all that this implies in terms of emotional range, from nostalgia for a joyous past to the tragic recent loss of a territory, and of the dream that it nourished.

Fall Tour Begins on Friday  (November 10th, 2016 – New York, NY) Tomorrow, punk supergroup Vanishing Life will release their debut full-length album, Surveillance, via Dine Alone Records, and in advance of that, the quartet will be hosting an AMA on Reddit today at 10am PST.

A message from the band:

Additionally, yesterday Vanishing Life partnered with CLRVYNT to premiere a track off of the album, “Outlier”, which you can listen to here; the song is accompanied by an in-depth interview with vocalist Walter Schriefels.

Formed in the muddy fields of Belgium during the Groezrock hardcore punk festival in 2014, Vanishing Life rapidly progressed from conversation to fully formed band.  With Autry Fulbright II (...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead) as the engine and ideas man, a lineup was soon culled including Walter Schreifels of Quicksand, Bad Religion drummer Jaime Miller, and as the 2014 festival circuit continued, the VL roster grew to include Zach Blair (Rise Against), who offered his services side stage during the Descendents’ set at Fun Fun Fun Fest.  The band steadily tap The Fall, Black Flag, Savages, Angel Olsen, The Damned, Grinderman, B'last, and early-Wire, with a modernity and focus, never nostalgia.  Surveillance was recorded with Suedehead's Davey Warsop and mixed by VL’s own Jaime Miller, with Glassjaw/Head Automatica frontman Daryl Palumbo taking a share of mastering duties.  MC5 informed by the nuance and beauty of mid-80s Dischord and paced like a novel, Surveillance finds resolution by asking the right questions.
