Apple Music | iTunes | SpotifyMulti-talented, award-winning British artist, actress and activist Kate Nash has released a brand new track and official video titled “My Little Alien.”Shot in the Californian desert and staring her very own pet pooch Stella, “My Little Alien” is a loving tribute to her rescued “fur-baby” and as the holiday season approaches, comes with a friendly reminder to “adopt not shop” when it comes to rescuing a four legged friend.“’My Little Alien’ was written after a trip to Rachel, Nevada, where I saw a UFO for the first time.” Explains Nash. “I took my rescue pup on the trip and I realized she is my best friend and although I have never met an alien she is like my little alien in a way. When I rescued her from a man in a coffee shop who wanted 20 bucks to get off drugs, she saved me at a time when I needed it most. Sometimes it feels like we're both from another planet. This song is about loving the strange.”On the video, directed by Tyler Monsein, Nash continues. “We wanted to recreate the feeling of being the nomads that we are. Neither of us quite fit into the boxes we should but when we are together it makes sense. So we got back on the road in a vintage Chinook and drove to Area 51!'” Watch the official video for “My Little Alien”  here  and listen to the track on  iTunes Apple Music  and  Spotify  from today. In other news, Kate Nash has been confirmed to play Rhonda is the upcoming Netflix Original series “G.L.O.W.” Produced by award winning Jenji Kohan (Weeds, Orange is the new Black), “G.L.O.W” (aka Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling) was created by Liz Flahive (Homeland) and Carly Mensch (Orange Is The New Black) and is a 10-episode comedy inspired by the real story of the 1980s female wrestling league.Amongst filming her Netflix Original debut in Los Angeles Kate Nash is also busy working on new music, set for release in 2017.

Allah-Las add new spring tour dates; debut new documentary "De Vida Voz"

ALLAH-LAS ADD SPRING HEADLINE DATES DEBUTS TOUR DOCUMENTARY DE VIDA VOZ CALICO REVIEW OUT TO CRITICAL ACCLAIM ON MEXICAN SUMMER [image error][image error]photo credit: Laura-Lynn Petrick     “They consistently deliver impressive performances; their harmonies, guitars,
and percussion are all point-perfect.”—Pitchfork “Cramming as much guts and passion as possible into three and a half minutes or
less - while burning it’s own path, with brooding, lonesome songs, tightly restrained
surf inflected musings on girls and freedom”—The New Yorker   “Allah-Las is a bona fide Los Angeles rock band...creating down-to-earth tracks that sound as though they emerged from a sultry garage in Southern California.”—Interview Magazine “Los Angeles garage-rock gurus Allah-Las tap into an alternate reality where the world
is but a California dream.”—SPIN  “slow-rolling and melancholic.”—Consequence of Sound “[Allah-Las has] turned the so-cal attitude into their own personal projection of freedom, girls, and glory days spent by the shore.”—Flaunt Following their international fall tour, Allah-Las is adding new headlining dates in March and April in support of their latest, critically acclaimed album,  Calico Review , out now onMexican Summer. The band will be playing in New York, Boston, Chicago, Atlanta and more with support from The Babe Rainbow. See below for a full tour itinerary.   In addition, the band debuts the new documentary, De Vida Vozfeaturing concert and behind-the-scenes footage from their most recent tour in North America and Europe. Watch the full filmHERE. An exclusive tour photo diary is now available on Baeble, who say, “[Allah-Las] continue to deliver their identifiable warmth we hear in their music through these gorgeous photos, as they’re bathed in film grain and west coast heat.”  Calico Review was recorded in Los Angeles’ historic Valentine Recording Studio. For the album, Allah-Las experiment with new instrumentation adding violin, harpsichord and Mellotron to their sound. The twelve tracks on Calico Review demonstrate how the group has pivoted from focusing on specific influences to crafting songs that reflect their own feelings of freedom, grit and melancholy. The result showcases their evolution as songwriters and arrangers. Allah-Las is composed of Pedrum Siadatian (vocals/lead guitar), Miles Michaud(vocals/rhythm guitar), Matthew Correia (vocals/drum), and Spencer Dunham (vocals/bass). The band was formed in 2008 while three of the members were working at the legendary Amoeba Music record store. “We were all music fans before we were musicians,” says Correia. “We’ve spent a lot of time listening to music, and understanding what works for us and what doesn’t.” Their 2011 self-titled debut was nominated for independent album of the year by the A2IM Libbys. Of the debut, Pitchfork said, “it sounds like an effortlessly wistful batch of starry-eyed, minor-key beauties that gently ruminate on the usual young-guy subjects: sex, freedom, the ways the former can interfere with the latter and vice versa.” In 2014, their sophomore LP  Worship The Sun  received critical acclaim from The Los Angeles Times who said the album “…lets the band’s trippy vintage rock absorb all sorts of new Southern California influences. Latin drumming, L.A.’s midcentury avant-garde beach culture and Laurel Canyon harmonies.” On the road the band, has built a dedicated following with extensive, sold-out tours and high profile festival dates throughout North, Central, and South America, Europe, South Africa, Russia, Mexico and Israel. ALLAH-LAS NORTH AMERICAN TOUR DATES

Talkhouse music contributors remember Leonard Cohen

THE TALKHOUSE MUSIC CONTRIBUTORS REMEMBER LEONARD COHEN
ROBYN HITCHCOCK, TOM MAXWELL, DAVID J HASKINS, AMANDA SHIRES & MORE REFLECT ON A LEGEND

This year has already seen so many legends leave us, and now we must say goodbye to the iconic songwriter's songwriter: Leonard Cohen. The news came that the 82-year-old had passed away via Cohen's  Facebook page Thursday (November 10) night. Although the prolific musician boasted a career that spanned decades, according to his son and producer, Adam Cohen, his father considered his latest album, You Want It Darker, "one of his greatest records." The Talkhouse would have to agree.
The Talkhouse Music reached out to its contributors for their thoughts on Cohen's passing. We will update this post as more remembrances come in.
You can check out all of the post HERE.
