Having released their critically acclaimed new album  25 25  as well as selling out London's ICAthis year, Factory Floor are wrapping 2016 up with a new video for  Wave . Directed by Gabe Gurnsey, the video was shot over a three week period and observes a frenetic journey from the urban sprawl to the rural landscape of the English / Welsh borders. Speaking of the video, Gabe says:

“Much like the album contents and lyrics the idea was to leave the video to the viewers / listeners own interpretation, sitting somewhere between abstract and suggestive. People tend to apply Factory Floor's music to dance floor environments but for me, when we are writing and creating records and sounds, the idea of journey and escapism through nature is always prominent."

The visual cut, "full of mystery and intrigue", premiered on  Dummy  earlier today.
In addition to the video, Factory Floor have announced a new run of UK dates in January, February and March 2017. A full list of shows can be found below.

Earlier this autumn, Factory Floor shared a  remix for “Wave”  by Jlin, and revealed their involvement in a new Tate commission by French avant-garde artist Philippe Parreno. The exhibition runs until 2nd April 2017, more information can be found here.

25 25 is out now via DFA and can be purchased via iTunes.

(StarTime International/Columbia Records; New York, NY; November 16, 2016) - The Big Moon are pleased to announce details of their forthcoming debut album. Recorded in London throughout the summer, Love In The 4th Dimension will be released April 7, 2017 via StarTime International/Columbia Records. The 11 track LP was co-produced by Catherine Marks and Juliette Jackson and includes re-recorded versions of previous singles "Sucker" and "The Road." Full track listing below.
To coincide with the album's announcement, The Big Moon have shared new single "Formidable," listen here. The track premiered as Annie Mac's Hottest Record in The World and follows ongoing support for the band at Radio 1. "We've been playing these songs for two years now, and it's a dream come true to finally immortalize them on record. It's like having eleven tiny babies all at once, all with their own little faces and voices and personalities, and now we're ready to throw them out of our nest and into your ears."
Earlier this month, The Big Moon played a momentous sold out show at London's Scala, rounding out their biggest headline tour to date. The band kicks off their US tour with a headline show at NYC's Elvis Guesthouse on 11/17 before joining Japanese House on the road in select cities across North America. See full itinerary below.

Arrows Of Love share their cover of Leonard Cohen's 'Famous Blue Raincoat'

Arrows Of Love
Share their cover of Leonard Cohen’s ‘Famous Blue Raincoat’
New single ‘Beast’ out on December 9thvia Tape Records
[image error] London art-rockers Arrows Of Love have shared frontman Nima Teranchi’s poignant cover of ‘Famous Blue Raincoat’ by Leonard Cohen. Lifelong fans of the man’s work, the band takes a rare step out from their righteously chaotic sound to pay gentle homage to what they consider "the greatest poet of our lifetime".
Nima tells us “On the night of his death I got a message from a friend I hadn't seen for years, which simply said;"One of my strongest mental images of you is you on your bed on the floor reading a book of Leonard Cohen poetry… by the way..."What can one say about Leonard Cohen? How can one word say anything that isn't already described better by the wordless sensation in the hearts of the many who loved him? To say he was one of the greatest poets of our lifetime, which would be a great accolade for some, is not enough. As true as it is.To talk about how he could paint whole chapters with eight or nine words, and even take you to the point of experiencing years of someone else's life across a few sentences...feels trite. And I think that's because with Leonard Cohen's death, which comes at a time where we are surrounded by such depravity, it is hard to shift the sensation that this is not just the death of a great man, but the death of an Age; An age of beauty, of hope and humanity, which we will not see the like of again. When we mourn for Leonard Cohen we are, in part, mourning for ourselves. His words breached the gap between song and listener to transmit that humanity into us, and his bold truths held a mirror up, to the ugliness of the ones like us, in a way that helped us see, understand and accept our beauty. He has connected us, across ages, genders, and nations; in a way that no politician, army, or ideology ever could. And in his death, he has connected us one last time.As word spread of his passing, i noticed the sensation in my own heart, and, for a moment, could almost see the web of hearts across our globe, dripping with that same sensation. It is a fitting poetry, like the last great work of a man whose timing was always part of his power, that even in his death, which comes when we are so engulfed by fragmentation, fear, and anger, he has managed once again to remind us how to feel something pure, human.”
In almost direct contrast, the bands new single ‘Beast’, out on December 9th via Tape Records, is a full-throttle call-to-arms. You can listen here.
This powerful and confrontational anthem fuzzes and spits while frontman Nima approximates a swaggering demigod as if Geddy Lee was howling into a maelstrom kicked up by Sleep. At other moments the mix of mayhem and heaviness brings to mind the likes of Harry Pussy and Black Sabbath playing at the same time.
A precursor to their anticipated second LP, ‘PRODUCT’‘Beast’ was produced by Mikko Gordon (Thom Yorke, Gaz Combes), in the studio he built himself at Goldsmiths University, and mastered by Bob Weston of Shellac.
During the last few months Arrows of Love stepped away from their album recording process to fight a campaign against the ex-Olympic Authority LLDC. With their own warehouse community threatened with demolition as London continues to lose parts of its soul to corporate profiteers, Vittoria Wharf hit local and worldwide news when residents stood up to fight closure. The band and a slew of local artists spearheaded the defence of what i-D called “a thriving centre for cultural and artistic output” during the #savevittoriawharf campaign. Not only that but the band have continued the campaign, forming Save Hackney Wick and tackling wider issues across the city, proving that Arrows Of Love are one of a rare breed of bands that stand by what they preach when the moment calls.

Rita Ora Releases Deconstruction Pack In Collaboration with adidas Originals

RITA ORA RELEASES DECONSTRUCTION PACK IN COLLABORATION WITH ADIDAS ORIGINALS COLLECTION TO BE RELEASED NOVEMBER 24th
History is built on creativity and adaption. Two years into their collaborative relationship, adidas Originals and Rita Ora continue to innovate in their combined visions while developing a true synergy. We've continued to be inspired by Ora, our Original icon and the queen of color, chaos and attitude. The Deconstruction Pack, Rita Ora's newest collection, will be in stores on November 24th. Unique details and fits unite two ranges for Q3 & 4. Daring lines and camouflaged clues draw us into multi-colored arrangements of rigid naïveté and lean cuts in a pack quite literally painted by numbers while fearless block builders own winter in a deconstructed range of bold playfulness and clashing graphic color cues emblazoned across comfortable unisex tailoring. "Banned from Normal" is the doctrine, issued by Rita Ora herself. With the Deconstruction Pack, adidas Originals by Rita Ora deliver an innovative take on the mantra. Deconstruction sees Ora-inspired wording, graphics and colors take 'normal' and flip it sideways. Bold blocking and material mixes are combined to generate a collection with a unique identity and DIY spirit. Stars, stripes and trefoil shapes collide as platforms for contrast colors, animal prints, vibrant slogans and iconic branding emblazoned across playful silhouettes. Layering emphasizes the haphazard graphic clash and mix of jersey, leather and mesh in a key look: leggings under basketball shorts and a track top paired with the Tubular Defiant in red with white stars reflecting the street-style take on unisex. Continuing the mood, countercultural attitude is set against urban utility with irreverent elegance and contrast color usage on a hero all-in-one playsuit with full-body zip worn with pimped Superstars and multi-use wild-style teambag. http://www.adidas.com/us/rita_ora

Today, Hanni El Khatib performed a new song on Facebook Live. "Till Your Rose Comes Home" is in memory of El Khatib's friend Chris Garcia who passed away earlier this year. The song, which is taken from El Khatib's forthcoming Savage Times Vol. 5, is streaming on Bandcamp now along with a performance of the song on Facebook Live until tomorrow morning.
Listen to "Till Your Rose Comes Home" or watch the performance while it is available above and stay tuned for Savage Times Vol. 5 coming on December 2nd.
About Hanni El Khatib:
You could call 2015 a breakthrough year for Hanni El Khatib, but it wasn't just an easy breakthrough all at once. Instead, it was step after unexpected step and chance after random circumstance, part of a zig-zag path that now has El Khatib working on the most unexpected project he's come up with yet-a project that doesn't even have a name or even an ending right now.
His album Moonlight, a Sandinista!-style festival of experimentation that hit in January 2015, was where everything started. A recording studio meet-up led to a GZA verse on "Moonlight," and that led to an El Khatib appearance on one of GZA's songs-the cover of Babe Ruth's "The Mexican"-and he followed that up by contributing the ghostly middle break to rapper Freddie Gibbs' bleaked-out "Satin Black." By summer he'd put out a picture disc single of his desolate take on D'Angelo and Premier's brooding "Devil's Pie" and teamed up with a bunch of elementary school kids from Staten Island's P.S. 22 Chorus for a rework of "Moonlight" and "Melt Me," and yes, it was as adorable as you'd think. He'd finish producing the debut album for Parisian psychedelic trio Wall of Death, and he'd make it all the way to Vladivostok, Russia, for a final set of festival appearances that the local U.S. consulate reported "brought artist and audience closer together." Then he'd play his last show of the year-last show to date, really-in September of 2015. And then everything suddenly changed.            El Khatib was booked to headline a Paris show with a special one-shot supergroup including drummer Alex Sowinski of BadBadNotGood, bassist Jonny Bell of Crystal Antlers and Dam-Funk collaborator and solo synthesizer wizard Computer Jay. But the Bataclan attacks canceled those plans, and so El Khatib was left with unexpected space in his schedule. He took the time to hole up with his guitar and generate hundreds of ideas-an uninterrupted flow that left dozens of voice-memo song snippets on his phone-and booked a session at Bell's Jazzcats studio in December to see what would happen. The very first day pretty much immediately resulted in "Gonna Die Alone" and "Baby's OK"-the first two new songs he's released so far, by the way-and instantly crystallized a simple new idea: write, record, repeat. Instead of a new album, he'd work on a new state of mind.            Although he'd already begun to work behind the mixing board with earlier signees to Innovative Leisure,Moonlight was El Khatib's first full-scale production credit-an experience of deep commitment to every level of making an album, from the first idea to the very last mix. He'd locked himself in an L.A. studio for thirty days, and after a long month of vintage gear, field recordings of funerals, so-crazy-it-might-work sample editing and more than a little whiskey, he walked out on April Fool's Day with his most daring and distinctive album ever. That meant that when he finally finished touring for Moonlight and started at Jazzcats that winter, he truly knew what he could do in a studio.            So El Khatib teamed up with Bell and submerged himself completely into recording, this time decamping to Jazzcats for week after week of lockdown improvisation. (And night after night of recovery-or discovery-at some of Long Beach's oldest and least-revitalized bars.) This was a new project, based on turning limitations-limited time, limited instruments, limited knowledge of how exactly to play strange new instruments-into inspiration, and of working non-stop with Bell to chase every idea until it either took flight or cracked into pieces. Although only two songs have materialized so far, there are more coming. In fact, there are more being made right now.            Moonlight was when Hanni tested every rule there is about making an album, but now he's not making an album at all. Instead, this is process as public performance: an artist releasing music to the world almost in real time, with nothing to interfere with the purity or intimacy. (If you were in L.A. on Record Store Day, you could've even got a special one-of-a-kind 7" of one of the songs, made especially for you by Bell and his record-cutting lathe.) Normally, at this point in a band bio, you'd get to find out what's coming next. But no one really knows what's coming next-not even El Khatib. All anyone can do for now is just listen.

Adia Victoria Shares Music Video for "Horrible Weather" via NYLON + 2017 Live Dates

ADIA VICTORIA PREMIERES MUSIC VIDEO FOR "HORRIBLE WEATHER" via NYLON
SHARES SERIES OF ANIMATED SHORTS ENTITLEDhowdoyoudo
FINAL 2016 PERFORMANCE IN NASHVILLE + 2017 LIVE DATES
TOUR TO SUPPORT THE ORGANIZATION OPEN TABLE NASHVILLE
"'Dead Eyes' conjures a bar-room brawl from sparking guitar and choogling organ. Meanwhile, Victoria delights in lording her power with a spirited, almost comic performance, veering between seriousness and faux-incensed yelps. Whoever's telling her she looks dead behind the eyes underestimates the force of the fire raging there." - Pitchfork
"Adia Victoria's powerful 2016 B-side "Howlin' Shame" lurches through foggy, spellbinding guitar and violin like the withered woman described in its lyrics." - The New Yorker
"Adia Victoria's voice is powerful and direct, with no artifice... It's a brilliant debut, though I highly recommend seeing her perform live for the full experience." -  NPR Music

In support of her critically acclaimed debut album  Beyond The Bloodhounds  (Canvasback), Adia Victoria has revealed the music video for her track "Horrible Weather." The video was directed by Alex Bittan, who also directed Adia's music video for "Dead Eyes," with illustrations by Ruff Mercy. "Horrible Weather" premiered today via  NYLON  who describe the video as, "A hint of dreariness hangs in the air while she sings her bittersweet tune about the beauty of coming together." Watch the Music Video for "Horrible Weather" HERE

Adia Victoria recently revealed series of animated spoken word shorts set to her poetry.  Entitled  howdoyoudo  the clips were animated by artist Andrew Ralph and the first, "Riding Lessons," premiered via  NOWNESS Ralph told them, "Since this poem is about Adia's insecurities when she was a young girl, I wanted to create an animation that felt childish, almost nostalgic to the viewer. The digital 2D animation is inspired by old episodes of Sesame Street and cartoons that I grew up watching in the '90s." NPR explains, "They're like peering into her unspoken mind and seeing a cartoon." The entire  howdoyoudo  series is now available to watch HERE
The Nashville based singer kept her year busy with numerous live performances across the United States, Europe and the UK in support of the album release. Adia Victoria will host a special end of the year event and performance in Nashville on November 18th at The East Room, which will also feature performances from RashadThaPoet, Mother Nature and more. Adia Victoria has also added several live dates in early 2017 including stops in AustinLos Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle and more. All dates below.
Adia will be selling new merchandise at her February 2017 shows to help raise money for Open Table Nashville - a non-profit, interfaith community that disrupts cycles of poverty, journeys with the marginalized and provides education about issues of homelessness.Through their Micro Home Villages project they are working to provide a dignified, loving and hospitable transitional housing community for Nashville's homeless in an effort to meet each individual's most basic needs so that he or she is empowered to focus on rehabilitation and addressing the reason(s) he or she became homeless. Adia adds, "Open Table's commitment to housing as a human right is second to none in Nashville. They strive to provide shelter and safe space to those in time of need, and work beyond the narrow confines our society uses to marginalize those in time of need."

Julie Byrne shares "Natural Blue," announces new album 'Not Even Happiness' out 1/27

JULIE BYRNE SHARES "NATURAL BLUE"
NEW ALBUM, NOT EVEN HAPPINESS, OUT 1/27
VIA BA DA BING RECORDS

LISTEN TO "NATURAL BLUE"
Nomadic singer-songwriter, Julie Byrne, has shared "Natural Blue," the lead single from her new album, Not Even Happiness NPR , who premiered the track today are saying "with her softly echoing guitar and slight strings, Byrne channels some ancient wavelength, then suddenly sticks a pin in the universal."
A more confident beast than her debut, Not Even Happiness adds atmospheric instrumentation and electronic flourishes to Byrne's unusual guitar tunings and fingerpicked melodies, moving the songs from the front-porch into subtle anthemia. Not Even Happiness is available for pre-order now and due out January 27th via Ba Da Bing Records in North America and Basin Rock in Europe.
ABOUT JULIE BYRNE:Sometimes it can take years to find your calling. Not for Julie Byrne; whose power of lyrical expression and musical nous seems inborn.  Often what comes naturally cannot be driven by speed and time. Julie's second album, Not Even Happiness, has evolved at its own pace. It spans recollections of bustling roadside diners, the stars over the high desert, the aching weariness of change, the wildflowers of the California coast, and the irresolvable mysteries of love. Her new album vividly archives what would have otherwise been lost to the road, and in doing so, Byrne exhibits her extraordinarily innate musicality.
Some of the songs on Not Even Happiness took years of fine tuning to reach their fruition. If you asked her why the follow up to 2014's Rooms With Walls and Windows has taken so long, you'd be greeted with a bewildered expression melted into a smile - as though the strangest question had just been asked. "Writing comes from a natural process of change and growth. It took me up to this point to have the capacity to express my experience of the time in my life that these songs came from."
Julie Byrne has counted Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Seattle, New Orleans and Northampton, Massachusetts as her transient homes in recent years.  For now, she's settled in New York City, moonlighting as a seasonal urban park ranger in Central Park. Whether witnessing the Pacific Northwest for the first time ('Melting Grid'), the morning sky in the mountains of Boulder ('Natural Blue'), or a journey fragrant with rose water; reading Frank O'Hara aloud from the passengers seat during a drive through the Utah desert into the rainforest of Washington State ('The Sea As It Glides'),Not Even Happiness is Julie's beguilingly ode to the fringes of life.
"The title of the album comes from a letter I wrote to a friend after a trip to Riis Park's 'The People's Beach', it was the first warm afternoon of the year. I walked alongside the Atlantic as the Earth came alive for the sun. There was a palpable sense of emergence to everything. I felt it in myself too, and remember thinking I would trade that feeling for nothing...not even happiness."

Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls is a non-profit music and mentoring program that empowers girls and women through music education, volunteerism, and activities that foster self-respect, leadership skills, creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.

Launched in 2005, the organization is entering its second decade of uniting girls across greater New York City in a shared mission to ROCK* with a special event and fundraising benefit December 2nd at Roulette in Brooklyn.

Featuring live music and dancing, DJ’s, and additional surprise guests. Food will be provided by Olivia Cooks for You plus beer, wine, and signature cocktails, including a special concoction made with Tito’s Homemade Vodka. Guests will also have the chance to win awesome raffle prizes, including a wine tasting class for 4 at Some Good Wine. More fabulous raffle prizes will be announced soon.

All proceeds from the event will be used to give girls, young women, and trans youth from low- and moderate-income households in NYC the opportunity to attend our Girls Rock! Camp and other music and mentoring programs.

The Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls (WMRC) Fairness Fund allows WMRC to provide scholarships and sliding scale tuition to more than half of their campers annually, and offer all community- and school-based programs free-of charge to participants.
