ABOUT POWERS:
POWERS is Mike Del Rio and Crista Ru. If you haven't heard their names, rest assured, you've heard their tunes. After Del Rio inked a publishing deal with Alex Da Kid (Rihanna, Imagine Dragons), his eclectic writing and productions started popping up on TVs, playlists and radios everywhere. Working with top artists such as The Chainsmokers and Kylie Minogue, Del Rio most recently made waves by producing the international hit "Lost on You" by LP, the anthemic "Jungle" for X Ambassadors[feat. Jamie N Commons & Jay-Z] and executive producing The Knocks’ So Classic EP (on which POWERS wrote and featured on the title track "Classic"). On the flip side of this creative powerhouse is songwriter and bassist Crista Ru. Aside from lending her distinct vocals and unique top lining to POWERS, her credits read like a “who's who” of the recent pop landscape . From penning the lead tune from Selena Gomez's Stars Dance album to working with Swedish duo Icona Pop, Ms. Ru has a poignant knack as an artistic muse and a searing-hot songstress, stirring the two together to push forward the sound of alternative pop. Previously, their infectious romper, “Beat of My Drum” shot up to the top of the Spotify Global Viral Chart and was featured as a lead song on campaigns for Garnier & Sprint. Following up with an equally impactful "Loved by You" and “Sunshine,” the band has reached over 60 million cumulative streams on Spotify, topped Hype Machine several times and received the coveted Emerging Artists Spotlight on iTunes.

Feist To Release New Album — Pleasure — On April 28th
FEIST TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM —
PLEASURE
— ON APRIL 28TH
PLEASURE
IS GRAMMY-NOMINATED SINGER-SONGWRITER’S FIRST ALBUM SINCE 2011’S
METALS

March 14, 2017 — (Santa Monica, CA) — Feist will release a new album, entitled Pleasure , on April 28th via Interscope Records.
Feist’s first album in six years reflects on secrets and shame, loneliness and tenderness, care and fatigue and is at its core a study on self-awareness . As the fourth full-length from the Canadian singer/songwriter born Leslie Feist, Pleasure builds off the warm naturalism of the Polaris Prize-winning Metals and emerges as her most formally defiant and expansive work so far. And while each album is a departure from the next, Pleasure finds the four-time Grammy Award nominee again showing the extraordinary depth of her artistry.
Recorded over the course of three months—in Stinson Beach, Upstate New York, and Paris — Pleasure was co-produced by Feist with longtime collaborators Renaud Letang and Mocky. In addition to reaffirming Feist as a cagily inventive guitar player, the album threads her shape-shifting and often haunting vocals into sparse and raw arrangements.
In 2004 Feist made her U.S. debut with Let It Die (featuring “Mushaboom”) which won the Juno Award for Best Alternative Rock Album, and garnered major critical acclaim. Her 2007 follow-up The Reminder debuted in the Top 20 in the U.S. and was hailed by The Village Voice as a “great batch of simple, precisely arranged love songs — expertly produced, delectably sung.” The single “1234” boosted the album’s sales to more than a million units internationally. Also including lead single “My Moon My Man,” The Reminder won Feist the 2007 Shortlist Music Prize (making her only the second woman to ever win the award).
After a several-year hiatus — during which she co-created Look At What The Light Did Now , a documentary about the making of The Reminder and her subsequent tour — Feist returned with Metals in 2011. Metals was her highest charting album, debuting at #9 onBillboard. It was named Album of the Year by the New York Times and won the Polaris Prize and four more Juno Awards. To date, Feist’s music has sold over three million units worldwide and amassed more than 500 million streams.

Legendary Kinks guitarist Dave Davies & son Russ Davies collaborate on new album 'Open Road' and stream new track
Dave Davies & son Russ Davies collaborate on new album 'Open Road'and stream new track Slow Down
Listen to Slow Down here
Dave Davies & Russ Davies Open Road 31st Marchvia Red River Entertainment
Legendary guitarist and songwriter Dave Davies has announced the upcoming release of Open Road, a new full-length album written and produced in collaboration with his son, Russ Davies. A sonic testament of two musicians coming from different eras and backgrounds in music and fusing their mutual experience into a deeply honest and inspiring LP, Open Road will be released on 31st March, via Red River Entertainment.
Dave Davies is a musician who needs little introduction, as a founder member of legendary rock group The Kinks; his guitar sound, unique style and songwriting has shaped the landscape of rock and pop music across generations. The pioneering rock guitarist singlehandedly changed rock-n-roll when he sliced his little green Elpico amp speaker with a razor blade, creating the first heavy metal guitar tone and riff. This revolutionary guitar sound propelled the Kinks into stardom with the global smash hits You Really Got Me and All Day and All of the Night, followed by numerous other classics over the next decades. Davies’ music is as relevant today as it was in the 60s, having released in recent years several critical acclaimed albums on Sony’s Red River Entertainment.
"As lead guitarist and co-founder of the Kinks, Dave Davies is one of the most unpredictable and original forces in rock,” enthuses writer Bill Crowley, “His distinctive guitar style went on to have major impact on several key guitar-rock styles, including heavy metal and punk. A Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Dave's massive guitar sounds have inspired bands from Van Halen to Green Day."
Russ Davies is well known in the global electronic dance music scene, having produced over 15 albums and toured the world over with his alter-egos Abakus and Cinnamon Chasers, gaining significant notoriety with the track and music video for Luv Deluxe which won the SXSW Award for Best Music Video and subsequently became a viral hit.
On working with his son on Open Road, Dave Davies observes that "Working with my son was a delight and he made me realize a lot about myself. I feel an almost strange magnetic loving energy pervading through the whole work. I found it very demanding emotionally and I wanted it to have integrity. Even though Russ is my son we happened to both gel with the ideals, stories and motives of the work; the honesty, the purity of it, and its deceptive simplicity and wonder of it."
Russ Davies concurs, "Working with Dave is a fluid process and we both seem to share some kind of psychic connection and understanding of how the song is forming and where we want it to go. With this album I really had the desire to produce this record in the most organic way I could, and try to capture some of the old rock spirit whilst bringing some new energy to the table. I feel we've created an honest and natural sound, un-perfectionist and rough at the edges, but with plenty of character and vibe - we are both proud of how the record turned out."
UK tour dates to be announced.

Downtown Boys new track “Somos Chulas (No Somos Pendejas)” + 2017 SXSW / Spring tour dates underway
Listen to Downtown Boys infectious new track “Somos Chulas (No Somos Pendejas)”

Spring tour underway, SXSW shows start today
Downtown Boys are thrilled to share “Somos Chulas (No Somos Pendejas)” [link here], an infectious new punk track released in celebration of their current 2017 spring tour and their new union with Sub Pop. “Somos Chulas” is sung entirely in Spanish. The chorus – “Somos chulas, no somos pendejas!” or, in English, “I’m elegant/intelligent, I’m not dumb!” – is a declaration of one’s ability to decolonize one’s mind, and the importance of fearlessly unlearning the ways white supremacy conditions people to think and exist. “Somos Chulas” was recorded during their recent sessions with Guy Picciotto and Greg Norman at Electrical Audio in Chicago.
SOMOS CHULAS (NO SOMOS PENDEJAS)
Yo vuelo con mi head
Yo vuelo con mis veins
Yo vuelo con mi tongue
x2
Yo vuelo con mis fingers
Soy la misma
Soy la misma
Pero llevo otra corona
Soy la misma
Soy la misma
Y yo no soy tu madona
Dame la opcion
Somos chulas
No somos pendejas
Tengo la instruccion
Cuando encontro, me enojo
Dame la opcion
Somos chulas
No somos pendejas
Cuando lo saben, cuando
Tienen comodo?
No tiene, no comodo
Y cuando lo saben, cuando
se Sacan?
No, no saca no
Yo no seguro money
Yo no seguro land
Yo no seguro ticket
x2
Yo no seguro ticket

I'm the same
I'm the same
But I wear a different crown
I'm the same
I'm the same
But I'm not your virgin madonna
So give me an option
Because I'm elegant / intelligent, I'm
Not dumb!
I have the instructions
When I find out why, I'll get angry
Give me an option
Because I'm elegant/intelligent, I'm
Not dumb!
When they find it, when are they comfortable?
Let's not be comfortable.
And when they take it all for themselves
They take themselves
Don't take me no
I don't got no money
I don't got no land
I don't got no ticket
I don't got no ticket

Leopold and His Fiction Announce Spring Tour + SXSW Performances
Leopold and His Fiction Announce Spring Tour

Supporting New Album Darling Destroyer, Out Now
Performing at SXSW at Hotel Vegas Annex + More
"A thrilling listen, Leopold and company unleash the fury of arena rock from the sensibilities of a basement outfit that even exits on a furious Bob Dylan cover."
New Noise Magazine
"Songs like, “Saturday” and “I’m Caving In” are perfect examples of Daniel Leopold’s ability to be the coolest rocker you have ever seen by also being the most vulnerable."
Diandra Reviews It All
Austin’s Leopold and His Fiction have announced new spring tour dates, co-headlining with Wild Adriatic. The band is supporting their latest album Darling Destroyer , out now on ILA.
Leopold and his Fiction will be performing at SXSW this year as part of the Hotel Vegas Annex showcase and more. See below for full SXSW schedule.
The fourth full-length from Leopold and His Fiction, Darling Destroyer echoes that urgency with a savage yet soulful sound testifying to Daniel’s Detroit heritage. “I hear my upbringing in this album more than anything I’ve ever done in my life,” Daniel says. “The songs were telling me, ‘This is what you’re made of, so trust it.’” Equally rooted in dingy garage punk and Motown’s pop-minded R&B, Darling Destroyer burns with a frenzied intensity true to its emotional origins. “Looking back, these songs came from a place of fear and vulnerability,” says Daniel, who wrote much of the album while awaiting the birth of his now-five-year-old daughter. “It was my first time ever dealing face-to-face with the severity of that type of emotion and translating it into words. Harnessing its power in the studio pushed me in a way I’ve never been pushed before.”
Throughout Darling Destroyer, Leopold and His Fiction reveal their gritty ingenuity by merging delicately crafted lyrics with blistering guitar work. Co-produced by Daniel, Vance Powell and Chris “Frenchie” Smith (...And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead, Ringo Deathstarr, Jet), Darling Destroyer proves Daniel’s easy prowess as a frontman, his vocals endlessly shifting from brutal wail to tender serenade.

Mary Lattimore Announces Collected Pieces, Shares "Wawa By The Ocean" Single

Shares "Wawa By The Ocean", a love letter to her favorite seaside convenience store

Last year, Mary Lattimore’s At The Dam marked a watershed moment for the classically trained harpist. While over the past decade she had recorded and performed with notable talents like Kurt Vile, Sharon Van Etten, Steve Gunn, Jarvis Cocker, Meg Baird, and Thurston Moore, Mary’s acclaimed third solo full-length (her first long-player for Ghostly International) saw her own music deservedly embraced by a wider audience. It was certainly no small feat coming from a beguiling album of improvised, processed harp pieces that had been recorded during stops along a road trip across America – all funded by an esteemed fellowship that she received from the Pew Center for Arts & Heritage.
Out April 14 on cassette and digital, Collected Pieces is a gorgeous counterpart to At The Dam, featuring six tracks previously available only as a download and/or streaming off Mary’s Bandcamp and SoundCloud pages. Recorded at her old home in Philadelphia between 2011 and 2016 and mixed by longtime collaborator Jeff Zeigler, Mary is reflective when describing this album-length compilation. “It’s me opening a box filled with 12 years worth of memories made while living there, with lots of beauty and sorrow, as well as total sunshine, blurriness, and some darkness all housed within.”
Throughout Collected Pieces, she conjures a mesmerizing range of colors and emotions from her 47-string Lyon & Healy harp along with subtle augmentations of effects and processed electronics. Dedicated to Mary’s favorite beach town, Ship Bottom, NJ, 10-and-a-half-minute opener “Wawa by the Ocean” gently unfolds like a daydream, with the song’s delicate refrain slowly dissolving into a light wash of delayed plucks and sun-kissed countermelodies. “We Just Found Out She Died,” however, takes a more celestial turn as her airy vocal harmonies shimmer underneath the meditative flutter of her harp. (The chimeric atmosphere is befitting of the song’s inspiration: Twin Peaks actress Margaret Lanterman, a/k/a the Log Lady, who sadly passed away shortly after Mary had seen her speak at a library in Philadelphia.) From the sweet yearn of “The Warm Shoulder” to the flickering drift of “Your Glossy Camry,” Mary’s music is all at once intimate and inviting as she effortlessly balances her exquisite sense of melodicism with an inventive ear for experimentation.
“It’s only in looking back that you realize how impermanent stuff always was, even though 12 years felt really long,” Mary explains. “The songs here have always been really special to me, and more so after bringing together these scraps and odes to memories of a burning motel, people from high school who are old now, or that Wawa convenience store on the Jersey shoreline which will probably always be there but is now so far away.”
A new transplant from Philadelphia to Los Angeles, Mary hasn’t had much time to settle into her new hometown. Following a recent tour with Waxahatchee and Kevin Morby, the coming months ahead will find her on the road again with Real Estate, playing synth in the New Rain Duets with Mac McCaughan, taking on a two-month residency at the Headlands in Sausalito, CA (May through July), and recording a duo record with Meg Baird for Three Lobed Recordings.
