POND have just released "The Weather," the final track on their album of the same name which is due out May 5th via Marathon Artists. A soaring, cosmic odyssey "The Weather" concludes the Perth based band's most ambitious piece of work to date. Produced by Kevin Parker, "The Weather" sees the band hone their pop songcraft, if forever with a wryly-subversive twist.
Listen to "The Weather" Where themes of their music have previously been obscured, The Weather is very much based in the here and now. The album offers, amongst other things, the bands' barometric reading of the current geo-political situation and reflects, both lyrically and musically, some of the confusing moral dilemmas faced around the globe. POND have previously streamed their hysteric mediation on the nuclear threat "30000 Megatons" and "Sweep Me Off My Feet;" a slick, synth-laden ode to romantic escapism.

West Coast neo-punk provocateurs The Garden recently released ‘U Want the Scoop?’ via Epitaph Records, representing a youthful punk scene in California with their dirty, raw and immediate two-piece bass and drum attack. Produced by Rob Schnapf (Joyce Manor, Elliott Smith, Beck,) ‘U Want the Scoop?’ follows the band’s 2015 debut album proper ‘Haha,’ which amid the garage rock sat abstract spoken-word pieces, surrealist lyrics and a whole heap of perverse genre-jumping. Established in 2011, the duo - AKA Wyatt and Fletcher Shears - created the term "Vada Vada" to represent their music and other creations. The term represents total freedom of expression without boundaries or guidelines of any sort. “Why strive to be a part of a scene when you can create your own? Vada Vada is an alternative reality that we put ourselves into so we don’t have to fit in” explains Wyatt.
After making their way across Europe, The Garden play 2 UK at Manchester Soup Kitchen on 21st and London SCALA on 22nd.

Adia's debut album Beyond The Bloodhounds was released to world-wide critical acclaim in the Spring of 2016. Almost a year later the album and her live show continues to amass new fans. The album hit numerous "best of 2016" lists in December, including from the likes of Rolling Stone and NPR and her shows have been dubbed "riveting," "sultry" and "fierce." Adia most recently released the How It Feels EP which features four tracks - three covers and one original - all sung in French.

March 21, 2017 - Moogfest will dedicate its main stage on opening night to exploring how creative technology tools and protest music can be used as instruments for change. This Protest stage will be led by local and international artistsTalib Kweli, Omar Souleyman, Mykki Blanco, BEARCAT and Pie Face Girls, MIT Open Doc Lab, NEW INC, and app developers at Goldsmiths University. The diverse Protest stage program will include performances, talks, and participatory technology experiments. Moogfest invites all presenters and attendees to explore sonic resistance and emerging technology tools for counteraction while celebrating radical inclusivity and intersectionality. New technologies for educating, organizing, and art-making echo Moogfest’s rallying cry: Synthesize Love. Protest comes in many forms, and no single genre can contain the musicians participating in Thursday’s program.Talib Kweli is a renowned recording artist, entrepreneur, and social activist who uses hip hop to educate, inspire and agitate. He is well known for his work combating racial stereotypes, the prison-industrial complex, and police brutality. Syrian artist-activist Omar Souleyman represents culturally diverse musical traditions that include Kurdish, Ashuris, Arabic, Turkish and Iraqi communities. Fearless noise rap poet and performance artist Mykki Blanco was raised in Raleigh, N.C., but has traveled the globe from art-world stomping grounds in New York to his current home in Los Angeles, spitting subversive rhymes on race and LGBT issues. British DJ/Producer BEARCAT makes politically-charged bass-heavy mixes and represents Discwoman, an esteemed collective showcasing cis women, trans women and genderqueer talent in electronic music. Raleigh-based band Pie Face Girls uses defiant punk music to promote a DIY ethos and attack issues like North Carolina’s HB2. Music is one of the oldest forms of protest, but each of these artists makes their causes urgent anew with the music and community they build.
Intermixed with the musical performances, technologists participating in the Moogfest Protest stage program will present recent and developing projects that empower and facilitate social action. Gan Golan and Ron Morrison of NEW INC present their countersurveillance armor for citizens, The Argus Project, a head-to-toe mobile suit embedded with cameras that allows the wearer and its audience of remote viewers to monitor and record environmental behaviour.Taeyoon Choi, also of NEW INC, presents a protest sign-making workshop, exploring signs as a poetic medium for social engagement in an inclusive space that promotes learning from people with differing views and priorities. Halsey Burgund of MIT Open Doc Lab and Joe Zobkiw present the Land Marking app, which captures the sounds of social movements around the world. During the festival, attendees are invited to contribute their voices or listen to the location-based mix of music and voices contributed by previous participants. Vivan Thi Tang, a postgraduate in the Graduate Entrepreneur program at Goldsmiths University in London, created a customized beta of her irlbb app for Moogfest 2017, that presents a unique opportunity for participants to connect with potential collaborators.
Found Sound Nation and Moogfest co-present Democracy's Exquisite Corpse: a sonic collage of reflections on democracy and resistance created in real-time across the festival weekend and in collaboration with Moogfest artists, activists, innovators, festival attendees and the public--a 21st century take on the Surrealist parlor game.
These presentations and workshops are rooted in the principle that technology can foster innovative perspectives on protest and creativity as a whole. Moogfest attendees are invited to collaborate with these technologists in launching their projects at the festival.

WIRE Announce DRILL : LA, A Unique Festival To Mark “40 Years Of Not Looking Back”

Musical pioneers WIRE will release their 15th studio album Silver/Lead on March 31, the eve of their 40th anniversary. However this is an album with its sights firmly set on the future. On April 1, 2017, the anniversary of the band’s first gig as the “classic 4 piece” at the Roxy Club. London, WIRE will be giving a headline performance at the Los Angeles edition of the band’s boutique city festival DRILL : LA, a unique festival to mark “40 years of not looking back.”

Grammy-nominated Little Dragon have announced their long-awaited new album Season High, out April 14th digitally on Loma Vista Records (CD + LP in stores May 5th). This is the first new music from the electro-pop band since they released their acclaimed 2014 album, Nabuma Rubberband. Season High was produced by Little Dragon, with co-production and mixing by James Ford, in their hometown of Gothenburg, Sweden. Discussing the process behind recording Season High, lead singer Yukimi muses, "We have grown through the years but the making of this album has been a struggle. As much as our band is based on a deep friendship we are four strong wills who find it really frustrating to compromise. We have gotten better at that though, but it's still a real battle. It gets harder and harder for us to make records but we still love it. Sometimes it feels like we have 100% passion and life or death emotions yet there's a pointlessness with everything. We want to exist in our own bubble where we can stay curious about sounds. The magic feeling that sounds can sprinkle over any boring day is what got us all hooked. That feeling of escapism ...maybe because Gothenburg is a grey place for most of the year, our curse and blessing is that we never quite succeed."

NEW ALBUM SEASON HIGHOUT APRIL 14TH ON LOMA VISTA RECORDINGS
NORTH AMERICAN TOUR ANNOUNCED
Grammy-nominated Little Dragon have announced their long-awaited new album Season High, out April 14th digitally on Loma Vista Records (CD + LP in stores May 5th). This is the first new music from the electro-pop band since they released their acclaimed 2014 album, Nabuma Rubberband. Season High was produced by Little Dragon, with co-production and mixing by James Ford, in their hometown of Gothenburg, Sweden. Discussing the process behind recording Season High, lead singer Yukimi muses, "We have grown through the years but the making of this album has been a struggle. As much as our band is based on a deep friendship we are four strong wills who find it really frustrating to compromise. We have gotten better at that though, but it's still a real battle. It gets harder and harder for us to make records but we still love it. Sometimes it feels like we have 100% passion and life or death emotions yet there's a pointlessness with everything. We want to exist in our own bubble where we can stay curious about sounds. The magic feeling that sounds can sprinkle over any boring day is what got us all hooked. That feeling of escapism ...maybe because Gothenburg is a grey place for most of the year, our curse and blessing is that we never quite succeed."
Little Dragon had previously shared a song off the new album, titled "High." And today, the band has shared the another new song from the new record, "Sweet," a saccharine-induced dance floor number framed by Yukimi's lush vocals. Stream/Buy "Sweet": Amazon, Apple, iTunes, Google Play, and Spotify.

Gabriella Cohen tours with Foxygen
Gabriella Cohen is the former frontwoman for rock n roll band The Furrs and Captured Tracks' newest signee. The renowned indie label recently reissued her debut solo full-length Full Closure and No Details. She'll be playing a slew of showcases at SXSW before embarking upon a massive tour with Foxygen.

Starring a heavily-pregnant Natalie Portman, 'My Willing Heart' was directed by Anna Rose Holmer and filmed in Los Angeles. Centring around Portman in and out of water, the visuals shift the emphasis of the track’s lyrics from lovelorn romanticism to maternal anticipation with subtle monochrome images, blended together with soft-focus textures.
Released with little to no prior warning, The Colour In Anything featured diverse contributions from Bon Iver, Frank Ocean, Rick Rubin and Quentin Blake (whose illustrations formed the album's instantly-iconic artwork). In support of the record, James headlined London's Field Day, Green Man Festival, Glastonbury's West Holts stage and played a succession of instantly sold-out shows on both sides of the Atlantic (including London's Village Underground, Brixton Academy and Hammersmith Apollo). His vocal and production presence is unmistakable across 2016's other seminal records, from Beyonce's Grammy-winning Lemonade to Frank Ocean'sEndless and Blond LPs.

The new U.S. and Canadian dates include shows in Oakland, San Francisco, Edmonton, Calgary, and Honolulu. Tickets go on sale beginning March 24 at www.duranduran.com. Members of the Duran Duran Fan Community will have access to pre-sale tickets and exclusive VIP packages beginning Tuesday, March 21 at 10am local venue time through www.duranduranmusic.com.The new summer dates are in addition to the current spring tour run, which kicked off this past weekend with two nights in Palm Springs and includes stops in Dallas, Houston, Fort Lauderdale, Wilmington and Atlanta.
