BLACK LIPS ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM PRODUCED BY SEAN LENNON

BLACK LIPS ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM SATAN'S GRAFITTI OR GOD'S ART?, EAST COAST TOUR THIS SPRING SEAN LENNON-PRODUCED FULL LENGTH TO DROP MAY 5 on VICE RECORDS, FIRST ALBUM SINGLE "CAN'T HOLD ON" AVAILABLE TODAY LISTEN TO "CAN'T HOLD ON" HEREhttps://play.spotify.com/album/6MNdAcXD6mncIpq8hvFzZe  credit Ben Rayner Atlanta flower punk pioneers Black Lips have announced that their first album in three years,  Satan's graffiti or God's art? , is set for release May 5 on Vice Records. Produced by Sean Lennon at his studio compound in upstate New York throughout 2016, the album is the group's most musically evolved to date, while still staying true to their original blistering take on fuzzy, dirty rock n' roll. During the recording the band isolated themselves from the outside world, infusing the album with a focused liveliness similar to the spirit that brought them together in the first place. On Satan's graffiti or God's art? founding members Cole Alexander and Jared Swilley teamed with former guitaristJack Hines (who played in the group from 2002-2004) and recent additions Oakley Munson on drums and Zumi Rosow on saxophone. The album also features contributions by Saul Adamczewski ofFat White Family and guest vocals by Yoko Ono. Black Lips were born of DIY ethic, working their way from sweaty basement shows in Georgia to huge crowds at international music festivals (including a performance at Fun Fun Fun Fest that appears inTerrence Malick's new film  Song to Song ) to tours in such far flung locales as IndiaJordan,CyprusEgyptLebanonIraqi Kurdistan, the United Arab Emirates, and many more. Satan's graffiti or God's art? vindicates Black Lips for sticking it out through many years of shifting trends and buzz bands; a sonically captivating document that is as creatively unhinged as it is precisely executed, one of the rawest and most expansive albums in the band's storied history.   PRE-ORDER THE ALBUM

!!! (Chk Chk Chk) Announce New Album, Share First Single + Tour Dates!

!!! (CHK CHK CHK) ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUMSHAKE THE SHUDDER OUT MAY 19TH ON WARP RECORDS
WATCH THE VIDEO FOR "THE ONE 2"
ANNOUNCE US TOUR!!! cover
!!! (Chk Chk Chk), the venerable New York City dance-punk band, have announced the release of their newest album, Shake The Shudder, out May 19th on Warp Records. Recorded at the band's home studio in Brooklyn,  produced by longtime collaborator Patrick Ford at Taaffe Palace, and mixed by dance luminaries Phil Moffa, Joakim and Matt Wiggins, the album features a cast of changing singers from Lea Lea, Meah Pace, Nicole Fayu, Cameron Mesirow and Molly Schnick.  Pre-order for the album at http://chkchkchk.net/.
The band have also shared the first single off the record, "The One 2," a boundary pushing wall of synths and 90's jungle featuring vocals from UK's Lea Lea. Watch the video for the song HERE.

!!! photo Photo Credit: Erez Avissar
The album title is a fancy way of saying "shake it off and dance your cares away." !!!'s post punk roots mean the band will always be pushing forward to new sounds but their tastes remain grounded in some form of funk and increasingly in various electronic dance styles. The idea for the new album was born from jamming in Barcelona, and spending months afterwards cutting those recordings into loops to form new songs. Back at home in Brooklyn, lead singer Nic Offer poured over his roommate's disco breaks. To push their boundaries, the band implemented the policy of more liberal sampling techniques as well as using whatever keyboard was available with the attitude of "there's no such thing as a bad synth," using sounds they wouldn't ordinarily use. This also includes having multi-instrumentalist Rafael Cohen's daughter featured on their song "What R U Up 2day" and the use of horn on "R Rated Pictures."
Thematically, Shake The Shudder reflects a band that has been together for twenty years. In the band's early days, they had the typical punk attitude, pointing fingers at everything that's going wrong in the world to cover up for their own inner turmoil. Now the band, older and wiser, are more comfortable with being more vulnerable, looking inwards instead of reacting outwards. To them you do this through friends, music, dancing, lovers... for Shake The Shudder, the sound of protest can be a march or it can be a sick groove paired with some short shorts.

Wolf Eyes shares new track & interview + "In The Studio" video

WOLF EYES SHARES NEW TRACK "II" FROM UNDERTOW BONUS CD

UNDERTOW LP OUT MARCH 24 LOWER FLOOR MUSIC

Times of chaos ring the bells for the newest sea-bottom R&B sound lurch from radical sonic artists WOLF EYES. The U$A’s longest-running homemade primitive electronic poetry & vibes trio launch another scotched taped nuclear audio front on humanity. The 2017 release  Undertow  finds the trio diving into new depths of the electronic and free jazz infected world. A world they created themselves from scratch, running over the course of two decades.
The vinyl edition comes with a double-sided foldout A2 poster featuring album artwork on one side and a compilation of gig flyers and imagery documenting twenty years of noise and troubled chaos on the reverse. A full download card is also included.
Formed in 1996 in Detroit, Michigan, WOLF EYES have recorded for Sub PopTroubleman UnlimitedDe Stijland most recently Third Man, as well as their countless self-released documents of audio destruction and micro-run slabs of noise. The band has an inzane history of collaborations, side projects and solo outputs. While staying consistently road-hardened they’ve shared stages with everyone from Sonic Youth to Anthony Braxton to Andrew W.K. to Aphex Twin to Morton Subotnick. The Wolf boys also continue to play gigs with all like-minded outsider stoner/loner freaks in the world’s basements, from whence this beast originally emerged.
LOWER FLOOR MUSIC is a brand new imprint dedicated to the group’s cultural vision. The Lower Floor Music label will be curated by Wolf Eyes and feature both new and archival visions from the band as well as work by like-minded artists. Lower Floor Music will benefit from a world-wild distribution deal providing fans of electronic music across the globe access to Wolf Eyes’ sound-vision and like-minded community spirits. The idea of a home-basement for Wolf Eyes is not new. Since 1998 the band has generated a massive tidal wave of releases nearly adding up to over 500 titles; mostly limited from 2-100 copies. Released on American Tapes, Hanson, AA, Warzone, and countless other independent/homemade labels, these documents often vanished forever into the arcane crypts of collectors. WOLF EYES has the unending thirst to explore every shadowy sonic corner of the homespun audio universe. The band has just launched a BLEEP store which is live right now, check it out here.
"UNDERTOW" and "LOWER FLOOR MUSIC": direct expression from the rotten rat explorers to sink into the seams of your soul.

Listen to a track from a limited bonus CD that comes with initial copies of  Undertow  below, as well as a live in the studio video from their M.U.G. warehouse below!

The album was recorded in Los Angeles, produced by Blake Mills, mixed by Shawn Everett. The video for the first single, "Slip Away," was directed by longtime Bjork collaboratorAndrew Thomas Huang and is co-presented by The Fader, whose current Perfume Genius cover story is a peek into his mindset upon completing the album in January.
Watch "Slip Away" here
Perfume Genius's 2014 breakout album Too Bright--called "awe-inspiring, magnificent" by NPR--marked a musical and performative leap that sounds unlike anything before or since. With his new songs, he goes even further, merging church music, makeout music, R&B, art pop, krautrock, and queer soul into his take on stadium anthems. Of the album, Hadreas says: "I pay my rent. I'm approaching health. The things that are bothering me personally now are less clear, more confusing. I don't think I really figured them out with these songs. There's something freeing about how I don't have it figured out. Unpacking little morsels, magnifying my discomfort, wading through buried harm, laughing at or digging in to the embarrassing drama of it all. I may never come out the other side but it's invigorating to try and hopefully, ultimately helpful. I think a lot of them are about trying to be happy in the face of whatever bullshit I created for myself or how horrible everything and everyone is." In a bio for the album, writer Choire Sicha says, "God is all around actually and some of these songs are about being equal and some are about the witchcraft of believing. This is church music the same way Prince's Black Album is--too dirty. It's femme art pop the way Kate Bush's The Dreaming is--too scary."  Track Listing: OthersideSlip AwayJust Like LoveGo AheadValleyWreathEvery NightChoirDie 4 YouSides (feat.
