Little Dragon Announce New Album 'Season High' - Released April 14th [Because Music]
LITTLE DRAGONANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM 'SEASON HIGH'RELEASED APRIL 14TH [BECAUSE MUSIC]WATCH NEW VIDEO FOR 'SWEET' HERE
BreakGrammy-nominated Little Dragon have announced their long-awaited new album 'Season High', out April 14th on CD & digitally via Because Music. In addition, standard vinyl & limited edition white vinyl (only available from independent record stores) will be available May 19th. This is the first new music from the band since their acclaimed 2014 album 'Nabuma Rubberband'. Having previously shared a first taste of the new material in the form of 'High', today the band have shared another track from 'Season High'; 'Sweet', a saccharine-induced dance floor number framed by lead singer Yukimi's lush vocals, can be viewed HERE.Discussing the process behind recording 'Season High', Yukimi muses, "We have grown through the years but the making of this album has been a struggle. As much as our band is based on a deep friendship, we are four strong wills who find it really frustrating to compromise. We have gotten better at that though, but it's still a real battle. It gets harder and harder for us to make records but we still love it. Sometimes it feels like we have 100% passion and life or death emotions yet there's a pointlessness with everything. We want to exist in our own bubble where we can stay curious about sounds. The magic feeling that sounds can sprinkle over any boring day is what got us all hooked, that feeling of escapism… Maybe because Gothenburg is a grey place for most of the year, our curse and blessing is that we never quite succeed."Season High tracklisting;CelebrateHighPop LifeSweetButterfliesShould IDon't CryStrobe LightPushGravityBreakThe band are set to embark on an extensive World tour in support of 'Season High', details of which can be found below, with more dates set to be announced in the coming months;

British Sea Power Drop Degenerate Art Exercise Video: "Keep On Trying" Watch/Share! LP Out 3/31

British Sea Power Drop Surrealist Exercise Video For
“Keep On Trying” (Sechs Freunde)

Second Single Off Upcoming LP
Let The Dancers Inherit The Party
Out March 31st on Golden Chariot (via Caroline International)
“Fittingly surreal – a breakneck montage of Dada-esque fever dream imagery, complete with a dancing bears and a nod to the European Union.” – NME
“‘Sechs Freunde’ [is] the German equivalent of six degrees of separation. There also happens to be six friends in the band and ‘Let The Dancers Inherit The Party’ is due to be their sixth album. See what they did there?” – DIY
British Sea Power have revealed the official video for “ Keep On Trying (Sechs Freunde) ” the second single off the band’s upcoming album Let The Dancers Inherit The Party out March 31st on the band’s own Golden Chariot imprint (via Caroline International).
The song - a paean to perseverance; a rocket-powered love letter to enduring friendship - is brought to life in this surrealist exercise video where a silver clad sextet jog alongside assorted representatives of the animal kingdom and a crew of military men who pull dancefloor moves against a solid gold backdrop. An average night out in Sea Power world, then.
“ Keep On Trying (Sechs Freunde) ” sees the iconic UK group continue to immerse itself in the German language, Polish animation, and particularly the work of the German Dadaist Degenerate Artist Kurt Schwitters – all cosmopolitan imperatives that underlie the internationalism and pan-European unity that has energized British Sea Power throughout its 15-year history.
The track’s Europhile chorus rings with a collective Deutscher cry of ‘Sechs Freunde’ - the German equivalent of the six degrees of separation concept; six friends being the constituency of British Sea Power.
It follows Let The Dancers Inherit The Party’s lead single “ Bad Bohemian ”. Both tracks are now available as immediate downloads via album pre-order.

British Sea Power is based in Brighton, UK; the band members live in Sussex, Kendal and on the Isle Of Skye. The band is Yan Wilkinson (vocals / guitars), Neil Hamilton Wilkinson (vocals / guitars), Martin Noble (guitars), Matthew Wood (drums), Abi Fry (viola), Phil Sumner (keyboards / cornet).
Recorded in Sussex, London and on the Isle of Skye, Let The Dancers Inherit The Party follows the band’s five studio albums for the great Rough Trade Records – a catalogue of releases that saw BSP become the longest continually-signed band in the label’s history. Rough Trade remain a vital part of the BSP story and will continue to do so, but the new album is being licensed from the band’s own Golden Chariot label to Caroline International. The entire recording of the album was funded by the band’s remarkably dedicated audience.

James Chance & The Contortions - Vinyl Reissue, SXSW, & Tour!

A key figure in No Wave, Chance has been playing a combination of improvisational jazz-like music and punk in the New York music scene since the late 1970s, in such bands as Teenage Jesus and the Jerks, James Chance and the Contortions, James White and the Blacks, The Flaming Demonics, James Chance & the Sardonic Symphonics, James Chance and Terminal City, and James Chance and Les Contortions. His music can be described as combining the freeform playing of Ornette Coleman with the solid funk rhythm of James Brown, though filtered through a punk rock lens.

New York City’s Boss Hog have released the track “Ground Control.” The track appears on their first studio album in 17 years, Brood X , due for release this March 24th via In The Red Records. Listen and share “Ground Control” here.
Boss Hog has announced expanded US tour dates including Detroit, Pittsburgh and more. The NYC record release show is March 30 at Mercury Lounge. Watch + share the tour trailer here.
Led by Cristina Martinez (ably assisted by her faithful sideman/husband Jon Spencer, as ever playing Flavor Flav to Cristina’s Chuck D), Brood X feels less like the work of a group who’ve been on ice for so long, more a slithering and sludgy monster of an album, a boiling pot of hot funk keys, growling punk attack, searing blues breaks and the ground-shaking holler of Martinez.
On hiatus since they finished promoting 2000’s icy, wonderful ‘Whiteout’ album, Boss Hog began stirring again late in 2008 with the first of several short runs of shows. “We’d play a handful of shows, once a year,” Martinez remembers. “Festivals, the Amphetamine Reptile 25th Anniversary party, some benefit shows.” Things started getting serious a couple of years later, when the Boss Hog all-stars – Martinez, Spencer, bassist Jen Jurgensen, drummer Hollis Queens and keysman Mickey Finn – decided this reunion habit was worth committing to wax.
Cooked up in the same Lower East Side basement where Boss Hog brewed their first blistering noiseouts, and cut at Michigan’s Key Club Recording Company on the same Flickinger N32 Matrix console Sly Stone used for There’s A Riot Goin’ On, ‘Brood X’ is serious music for serious times, the perfect soundtrack for a necessary revolution.
The 17-year cicadas have re-awoken, and not a moment too soon. New York has changed beyond recognition and there’s a buffoonish villain entering the White House, but Martinez’s towering vocals and vicious, hilarious, emboldening lyrics have never sounded so sharp, nor Boss Hog so timely. Opener ‘Billy’, all brawny low-end and delirious funk organ, finds Cristina and Jon howling about “The brink of destruction!” over apocalyptic beats, while Ground Control, a prismatic vision of today’s Big Apple, includes the bitter observation, “This is the cost of privilege”.
“A lot of Cristina’s lyrics on this album resonate with me more deeply since the election,” nods Spencer. “They’re blues songs, protest songs.”
“The songs do feel oddly relevant now,” Cristina adds.

Tancred announces tour w/ PWR BTTM + SXSW Schedule
TANCRED ANNOUNCES SPRING/SUMMER TOUR WITH PWR BTTMFULL SXSW 2017 SCHEDULE + JENNY OWEN YOUNGS DATES
CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED NEW ALBUM OUT OF THE GARDENOUT NOW ON POLYVINYL RECORDS

Tancred (Jess Abbott) is excited to is excited to announce upcoming shows with Jenny Owen Youngs and a month long spring/summer tour with her new Polyvinyl label mates PWR BTTM. Tancred will also be performing at SXSW 2017 in support of the critically acclaimed new album Out of The Garden (Polyvinyl Records). Full SXSW schedule and all upcoming tour dates below.
Produced by That Dog’s Anna Waronker and Off!/Redd Kross member Steven McDonald, Out of the Garden has been hailed as a “phenomenal” new album by NPR Music, with lead single “Sell My Head” being praised by Stereogum for how it “simmers with a uniquely bold energy”. “Out Of The Garden,” wrote THE FADER “is a full-on blast of power pop with an angry shadow behind it. Lead singer and songwriter Jess Abbott's voice sounds like it came straight out of 1999; she's got those perfect, subtly nasal pipes that sound like the sweetest, chewiest, most long-lasting bubblegum.”

Written over a two-year period during a break from touring, Out of the Garden’s emphasis on re-defining feminine expectations was shaped by primary songwriter Jess Abbott’s experiences living in Minneapolis and working at a liquor store in a rough part of town. “I learned how to speak up when I needed to and how to truly be myself without reservation,” Abbott recalls. “I felt afraid walking home at night, and after a couple of months I just got sick of it and started getting into self-defense and self-empowerment as a means of coping. Finding my own strength changed everything.”
After writing and tracking every song in her apartment, Abbott enlisted Kevin Medina and Terrence Vitali to add drums and bass to her demos. The band then traveled to LA to record with McDonald and Waronker. As a result, Out of the Garden showcases Tancred shedding its former skin in favor of a bolder and infinitely more confident sound. Says Abbott, “Out of the Garden represents doing what you want, what you need, without letting anything or anyone stop you - and smiling while you do it.”

AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER NOW
NEW TRACK “LIABILITY” AVAILABLE INSTANTLY WITH ALBUM PRE-ORDER
LORDE TO PERFORM “GREEN LIGHT” ON SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE MARCH 11

NEW YORK, NY (March 9, 2017) – Following LORDE’s highly-anticipated return with new single “Green Light,” the singer sets the release of her second full-length album Melodrama for June 16 via LAVA/Republic Records.
Melodrama is available for pre-order now across all digital service providers. Each pre-order will include an instant download of brand new track “Liability,” produced by Lorde and Jack Antonoff, and current single “Green Light,” produced by Lorde, Jack Antonoff, and Frank Dukes.
“Green Light,” immediately launched the GRAMMY® Award-winning singer to the top worldwide trending topic on Facebook and Twitter, amassing an incredible 2 billion impressions on Twitter alone within its first 24 hours. Making its debut at No.1 on the Billboard and Twitter 140 chart, “Green Light” is this week’s most-added song at radio across four formats: Top 40, Hot AC, Alternative and Triple A. The track also clinched the top spot on Spotify’s Viral Songs charts both in the US as well as globally.
Rolling Stone praised her return single as, “a reflection of her own emerging adulthood” and The FADER declared the track, “a true pop anthem – made for both earbud strutting and the club”. Pitchfork names “Green Light” best new track, concluding, “the euphoria of ‘Green Light’ is a new look for this 20-year-old who first appeared as a shadowy teenaged mystic. She doles it out carefully, true to her inability to find closure. But when it hits, she’s radiant.”

LITTLE DRAGON ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM SEASON HIGHOUT APRIL 14TH ON LOMA VISTA RECORDINGS
NORTH AMERICAN TOUR ANNOUNCED
WATCH THE MUSIC VIDEO FOR "SWEET"

Grammy-nominated Little Dragon have announced their long-awaited new album Season High, out April 14th digitally on Loma Vista Records (CD + LP in stores May 5th). This is the first new music from the electro-pop band since they released their acclaimed 2014 album, Nabuma Rubberband. Season High was produced by Little Dragon, with co-production and mixing by James Ford, in their hometown of Gothenburg, Sweden. Pre-order for the album can be found at little-dragon.net, iTunes and Amazon.
Discussing the process behind recording Season High, lead singer Yukimi muses, "We have grown through the years but the making of this album has been a struggle. As much as our band is based on a deep friendship we are four strong wills who find it really frustrating to compromise. We have gotten better at that though, but it's still a real battle. It gets harder and harder for us to make records but we still love it. Sometimes it feels like we have 100% passion and life or death emotions yet there's a pointlessness with everything. We want to exist in our own bubble where we can stay curious about sounds. The magic feeling that sounds can sprinkle over any boring day is what got us all hooked. That feeling of escapism ...maybe because Gothenburg is a grey place for most of the year, our curse and blessing is that we never quite succeed."
Little Dragon had previously shared a song off the new album, titled "High." And today, the band has shared the another new song from the new record, "Sweet," a saccharine-induced dance floor number framed by Yukimi's lush vocals. Stream/Buy "Sweet": Amazon, Apple, iTunes, Google Play, and Spotify.
