Elephant Stone Announce Tour

Elephant Stone Announce Global TourShip of Fools LP Out Now via Elephants On Parade+ Burger Records. Buy Tickets for new tour!
"[Ship of Fools]... furthers the band's groovy, danceable psychedelic mission." - BrooklynVegan
"Elephant Stone are the crown jewels of Montreal psych rock." - Exclaim!
Links: Web // Facebook // Twitter // Instagram // YouTube // Press Photo
Montreal psych-rock trio Elephant Stone have announced an international tour to close out 2017. The string of dates follows the release of the band’s recent full length Ship of Fools - out now on Elephants On Parade/Burger Records. The band has toured extensively throughout North America and Europe and will be returning to stages across Canada, Europe, and the US with their “cosmos-searching live shows” (Clash) this August through December.
Elephant Stone have toured alongside prominent acts such as Beck, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, and The Horrors. They continue to solidify their place in the burgeoning psych rock scene with an impressive sequence of releases. Most recently, Ship of Fools presents a new Elephant Stone emphasizing catchy grooves and vocal melodies that smack of both infectious pop and dance. But frontman Rishi Dhir's lyrics have lost none of their sophistication or social commentary.
Evolution, change, artistic growth, and exploration are associated with all great rock and roll bands, but they're quickly becoming synonymous with Elephant Stone. Formed in 2009 by Dhir (singer/bassist/songwriter/sitar) accompanied by Miles Dupire (drummer/backing vox) and Gabriel Lambert (guitar/backing vox), the band has proven to be innovators who are unafraid of challenging themselves and their audience. Elephant Stone makes music for the head and the heart and will continue their psychedelic mission. New music coming soon. A full list of 2017 tour dates are below. Tour Dates:8/11 - Quebec City, QC at Le Cercle 8/12 - Gaspe, QC at Festival au Bout du Monde8/13 - Sainte-Anne-des-Monts, QC at Sea Shack9/1 - Rouyn Noranda, QC at Petit Theatre de Rouyn Noranda (w/ A Place to Bury Strangers)9/7 - Berlin, DE at Bassy (w/ Cosmonauts)9/8 - Cologne, DE at Gebäude 9 (w/ Cosmonauts)9/9 - Hamburg, DE at Molotow (w/ Cosmonauts)9/12 - Malmo, SWE at Plan B9/13 - Copenhagen, DK at Pumpehuset (w/ The Black Angels + A Place to Bury Strangers)9/16 - Angers, FR at Theatre le Quai9/18 - Le Havre, FR at McDaids Live9/19 - Leiden, NL at Gebroeders Nobel (w/ Holydrug Couple)9/20 - Amsterdam, NL at Paradiso (Indiestad Festival w/ The Black Angels + A Place to Bury Strangers)9/22 - London, UK at O2 Forum (w/ The Black Angels + A Place to Bury Strangers)9/23 - Liverpool, UK at Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia9/27 - Thessaloniki, GR at Rover Bar9/28 - Arta, GR at Miles Bar9/29 - Athens, GR at Death Disco12/3 - Columbus, OH at Ace of Cups (w/ The Dream Syndicate)12/4 - Chicago, IL at Thalia Hall (w/ The Dream Syndicate)12/5 - Minneapolis, MN at Fine Line (w/ The Dream Syndicate)12/6 - St. Louis, MO at Off Broadway (w/ The Dream Syndicate)12/7 - Nashville, TN at High Watt (w/ The Dream Syndicate)12/8 - Atlanta, GA at The Earl (w/ The Dream Syndicate)12/9 - Raleigh, NC at Stag’s Head Music Hall (w/ The Dream Syndicate)12/10 - Richmond, VA at Capital Ale House (w/ The Dream Syndicate)

Grunge/Glam Queens Sharkmuffin Turn Into Vampires and Announce US Tour Dates

SHARKMUFFIN

Become vampires, breaks out a new music video and takes on US tour starting August 11th!

“The duo called Sharkmuffin makes short songs that pack a punch.” - WNYC

“...the record veers through searing rock and roll tunes to more mellow tracks with an underlying darkness.” - Audiofemme

Brooklyn’s “opti-mystic glam-grunge” Sharkmuffin are hitting the road!
Due to demand - these four are taking their show down South, around the Northeast and even cruising over to Chicago. Sharkmuffin celebrates their release of the EP Split Cassettea split with psychedelic punk meets rock bandThe Off WhiteSplit Cassette just came out on July 21 via Little Dickman records.

To plug into their sound, check out the newest music video for “Factory” via TIDAL Featuring the musicians themselves in a fatal, fabled tale of “man meets woman”. In this track, vocalist Tarra Thiessen tells the story of a romantic relationship between a female factory worker and her curious chief. Created for the nostalgic state of mind, this video, from Eric Durkin, implements elements of old-school horror films and heavy romantic anticipation accompanied by the glam-grunge sounds of Sharkmuffin. To be recognized in the video for “Factory” is the transgression in time -as coming of age vampires who end up acquiring a factory and aim to protect it from a Donald Trump takeover. It’s the past, present and future in a punk-rock vampire-lovers’ dream.

Take a bite of the upcoming US tour dates below.

ADULT. Release New Video For "Uncomfortable Positions"

ADULT.

RELEASE BRAND NEW VIDEO FOR "UNCOMFORTABLE POSITIONS"

NEW ALBUM DETROIT HOUSE GUESTS OUT NOW
[image error]Photo credit: N Kuperus "...a highly collaborative record that is richer and stranger than anything they've done before...electrifying." – PITCHFORK

"a vigorously unsettling collaborative album that plays to their strengths....suffused with a volatility and uneasiness that are ADULT. signatures." – ASSOCIATED PRESS

"Not many bands make their best album nearly 20 years into their career, but Adult. have done just that with  Detroit House Guests ." – THE STRANGER
ADULT. (Detroit’s Nicola Kuperus and Adam Lee Miller) have released a new video for “Uncomfortable Positions,” featuring Japanese-born, LA-based multidisciplinary artist Lun*na Menoh. Watch it here.

Lun*na Menoh, whose work deals with "fashion, clothing and exposing the invisible thread between performance and fabric,” and Nicola Kuperus recorded the video in one take – both blindfolded, manipulating a sewing machine hooked up to effects pedals.

Further information about a piece of Lun*na Menoh’s work owned by the V&A can be read here.

“Uncomfortable Positions” is taken from the band’s latest album,  Detroit House Guests , a project conceived by ADULT. based on the visual artist residency model. Each musician came to ADULT.’s studio for a three week period with the parameter that they all live, work and collaborate together. The result - a total anthropological sound experiment and a full length album.

The album features collaborations with a whole host of musicians and artists – Douglas J McCarthy from Nitzer Ebb, Michael Gira from Swans, Shannon Funchess from Light Asylum, Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe aka Lichens, Austrian thereminist Dorit Chrysler and Lun*na Menoh.

Kuperus and Miller also make sculpture, paintings, films, photographs, performances, videos and installations. They strive to intersect the lines between art and audio and have exhibited their work at institutions such as the Austrian Cultural Forum (NY), Mattress Factory (Pittsburgh), Detroit Institute of Arts (Detroit), MOMAS (Saitama, Japan), and Centre d'art Contemporain de Meymac (FR). They have shown their film The Three Grace(s) triptych at spaces such as Anthology Film Archives (NY), Distrital Film Festival (Mexico City), and Grey Area for Art and Technology (SF).

Introducing Circuit des Yeux's Reaching For Indigo, out 10/20!

CIRCUIT DES YEUX REACHES FOR INDIGO CHECK OUT "PAPER BAG" HERE Drag City is pleased to welcome Circuit des Yeux to our roster with theOctober 20th release of  Reaching For Indigo ! Vocalist, composer, and producer Haley Fohr has been Circuit des Yeux since she was eighteen years old. Born in the Year of the Dragon in Indiana's own "Star City" - that's Lafayette, IN! - she released records regularly over the past two decades, including four full-length albums, along with several mini-albums and singles. And all the while she has played shows everywhere, bringing her sounds to the far-(and near-)flung cities of Earth. She has been based in Chicago since 2012.

The records and shows have been done in primarily DIY fashion, as a means of navigating the world, genuflecting with Sagittarian energy. Circuit des Yeuxreflects from a singular angle, looking deeply, at times unblinkingly, at connections and collisions of the cerebral and the physical, with a sense of colloquial grit and an equally opaque transcendent spirit in both her words and her music.

Reaching for Indigo  is the 5th album from Circuit des Yeux and is co-produced by Haley Fohr and Cooper Crain. It references a moment that fell down in the life of Haley Fohr on January 22, 2016.  Reaching for Indigo adds to definition of Circuit des Yeux, as she realizes her goal of becoming one of the most distinctive voices of this time.

Tune in and drop out to the video for "Paper Bag", curated and edited Meg Remy, below and await Reaching for Indigo's release on October 20th!CIRCUIT DES YEUX TOUR

Rojas, brings the metaphoric ideas found in both the music and paintings to life. While still quite abstract, it focuses on the harmony found in people from South Central and East Los Angeles and shows the beauty in their differences. Harmony Of Difference  will be available on all digital services, as well as on 12” vinyl with a 14-page concertina booklet featuring original artwork by Amani Washington and still images from the film by A.G. Rojas on September 29. Uni Premiere Video For "What's The Problem"

INTRODUCING:UNIWATCH THE VIDEO FOR "WHAT'S THE PROBLEM"
PLAYING BABY'S ALL RIGHT MONDAY, AUGUST 7TH @ 7:00PM Photo Credit: Nathan West"What's the problem? Is it politics? Is it church? Is it McDonald's? Is it sex? Is it public school? Is it your mother? Is it global warming? Is it a secret shame, a private humiliation you try to forget but it follows you everywhere like a shadow self?
The squeakiest wheel gets the oil then the most powerful voice gets it's tongue cut out. They keep you in cul-de-sac coffins with bibles, pills and liquor cabinets and call them 'good homes'.
Poltergeists are said to be most common in homes with teenage girls... televisions exploding from the overcharged hormones... This video is a S+M suburban daydream, with domestic servitude and fetishizing of 50's household products. Yes, we treat objects like women.
Just keep smiling whatever you do. Your mascara might run...but you can't." Uni
Watch the video for "What's The Problem"

The National - "The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness" single is #1 on

THE NATIONAL'S LEAD SINGLE"THE SYSTEM ONLY DREAMS IN TOTAL DARKNESS" HITS #1 ON TRIPLE-A CHART
SINGLE OFF FORTHCOMING NEW ALBUMSLEEP WELL BEAST OUT SEPTEMBER 8 VIA 4AD

Congratulations to The National whose single, " The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness" has claimed the #1 spot on the BDS Triple-A radio chart.  This marks the band's first #1 at commercial radio.  "The System Only Dreams In Total Darkness" is off The National's forthcoming album Sleep Well Beast which is set to be released on September 8 via 4AD.   As with the entire album, the single was produced by member Aaron Dessner with co-production by Bryce Dessner and Matt Berninger.  Sleep Well Beast was mixed by Peter Katis and recorded at Aaron Dessner's Hudson Valley, New York studio, Long Pond.  Sleep Well Beast is available for pre-order and will be available in CD, digital and double LP formats.
Watch "The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness," in this Casey Reas directedvideo.
"'The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness' blends elements of the National's signature indie rock anthems with a shot of disco funk. A shuffling drum beat and a grimy guitar loop mix with a slow-burning blend of piano, synths and horns that rise at the end..." - Rolling Stone
"the National re-emerges upbeat, verging on danceable, with 'The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness,' a plaint about lost intimacy delivered with a kicking drumbeat, an insistent distorted guitar lick and a strobing video clip. The band hasn't set aside its fondness for Minimalism; there's lots of repetition in the underlying arrangement. But this time the National is willing to swing."   -The New York Times
"Produced by Aaron Dessner 'System' has a sound that's sharper than on The National's past two albums - more propulsive than dense - and it gleams and shudders with nervous bravado." - NPR
"Here, they all sound more energized, jutting forward with a slick confidence." -Pitchfork (Best New Track)
"No matter what Matt's singing about here it sounds good, and "The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness" is a pleasant omen for whatever other uncommon amalgamations might come next on Sleep Well Beast." - Spin
The National have confirmed a world-tour in support of  Sleep Well Beast.  Dates kick off  in Cork, Ireland on September 16.  Highlights include Forest Hills Stadium in New York on October 6, The Hollywood Bowl on October 11 and multiple night residencies in more than 10 cities across Europe and North America.  In advance of the tour The National have played Glastonbury ("Could The National Be Glastonbury's Next Headliners?" said the NME review) and the upcoming Haven Festival in Copenhagen. YELLE - ANNOUNCES NORTH-AMERICAN CLUB SHOWS: YELLE CLUB PARTY TOUR + MORE NEW MUSIC

YELLE ANNOUNCES NORTH-AMERICAN CLUB SHOWS:
YELLE CLUB PARTY TOUR

ICI & MAINTENANT (HERE & NOW)” AND “INTERPASSION” OUT NOW, MORE NEW MUSIC TO COME SOON             Photo credit: Alexandra Kingo About Today, the French dance-pop group Yelle, which is Julie Budet and Jean-François Perrier (aka GrandMarnier), are announcing they’ll take over small clubs across North America with a show specifically designed for the club environment: YELLE CLUB PARTY TOUR. Yelle recently returned with a couple of new singles – Ici & Maintenant (Here & Now) and Interpassion, which, as often is the case with Yelle’s art; glow on the surface while addressing more serious concerns underneath. It is hard to think of another current artist who has managed to go global the way Yelle has. Having released three albums in the last decade and performed countless live shows around the world, all the while singing in her native French language.  Yelle's beautifully melodic compositions translate regardless if fans have any idea what she is actually singing about. Their first single, "Short Dick Cuizi”, a rather obvious slam of French rapper Cuizinier, was posted on MySpace in 2005 and became a minor sensation. After some lyrical adjustments and a title change to"Je Veux Te Voir", the song became the duo's first official single in 2006 and became an indie sensation song internationally. Yelle’s debut album  Pop Up  was released in 2007 and spent nearly three years touring the world over in support of it before work on their second album began. Album number two,  Safari Disco Club  was released in the spring of 2011 and was followed by extensive international touring again. On their third album, Yelle worked with Dr. Luke and his team of producers. Though it was a little more focused than previous efforts, 2014's  Complètement Fou  was still imbued with a fun-loving, anything-goes left-field pop outlook. Now Yelle is coming back to the live circuit, with their music nurtured by club culture since their inception and they love nothing more than tearing up dancefloors! Yelle are taking over clubs across the US and Canada next fall with the YELLE CLUB PARTY TOUR designed for four-to-the-floor kind of nights! YELLE CLUB PARTY TOUR:
