AT THE DRIVE IN NEW VIDEO FOR “CALL BROKEN ARROW” NOW LIVE

AT THE DRIVE INNEW VIDEO FOR “CALL BROKEN ARROW” NOW LIVE https://youtu.be/ljt4MFfgB7cin • ter a • li • a OUT NOW ON RISE RECORDS“Both math-y and explosive, a stadium-size version of a great band’s former glory.”—ROLLING STONE“Like two jets racing toward at each other full speed, narrowly missing each other at the last minute… ferocious, fast, loud and still fairly precise.”—NPR“[A] very, very loud triumph”—THE RINGER“Pure firepower”—ALTERNATIVE PRESSContinuing to build on the feverish momentum of their new album in • ter a • li • a, released May 5, 2017 on Rise Records, At The Drive In has proudly unveiled the new video for “Call Broken Arrow.”Directed by Rob Shaw, “Call Broken Arrow” acts as the prequel to the video for “Hostage Stamps,” as it unfolds a story of previously seen prisoner and faceless captors—with an eerie appearance by mechanized spiders. Using the same intricate mix of digital and stop-motion animation, the video for “Call Broken Arrow” gives viewers a closer look behind the man’s reason for imprisonment, as Rob Shaw explains:“In ‘Hostage Stamps,’ we have a prisoner being tortured and monitored by some sort of authoritarian organization. The guys wanted to show why he was imprisoned, as well as cast doubt over his innocence. It’s funny how in stories, especially film stories, you tend to sympathize with whoever you spend time with. When you watch someone being mistreated, the assumption is that person is the victim. ‘Call Broken Arrow’ is in part about illustrating the prisoner’s culpability, but even that is in doubt as we see the Watcher character who follows him around slipping something in his drink at the end.”The striking animation featured in “Call Broken Arrow” utilized what Shaw describes as an “old film technique approach”—the team used rotating buildings, sliding clouds and in-camera practical effects to create an immersive world for the viewer. Bootblacks Share New Track "Hold & Dissolve" Via BlackBook

BOOTBLACKS SHARE "HOLD & DISSOLVE" TRACK VIABLACKBOOK

'FRAGMENTS' OUT 9/14 VIA MANIC DEPRESSION RECORDSLISTEN & SHARE: Bootblacks - "Hold & Dissolve"
https://soundcloud.com/bootblacks/hold-dissolve/s-TWFrv?"could sit proudly amongst the trenchant, doomy psychedelia of Echo & The Bunnymen’s potent classic 'Heaven Up Here'" - BlackBook

“Direct sonic descendants of Xymox and Front Line Assembly” - BrooklynVegan“Sounds like a skittering love letter to Bauhaus, Joy Divison, Depeche Mode and all the other bands that ultimately bridged the gaps between punk, post-punk, and new wave” - Nerdist“Bootblacks, in other words, is this generation’s answer to Joy Divison, and likely the closest we’ll ever get to hearing another band play with the same intensity, emotion, and fearlessness as the iconic Manchester band.” - The RevueToday, Brooklyn-based Bootblacks have shared the debut single from their forthcoming album via BlackBook. You can listen to "Hold & Dissolve" here. The band's Panther MacDonald explains that the track is about "knowing you have to leave people behind, and how hard that is. And even though letting go is difficult, you can both find the time to remember someone while remembering that it’s not over yet.”  'Fragments'  is out 9/14 via Manic Depression Records.

Since the group's founding in 2010, Brooklyn-based Bootblacks have been enthralling audiences with their frenetic live shows from the U.S. to Europe. Their sounds has been described as a balance of contradictions: both pensive and buoyant, referential and modern. Fitting, as the Bootblacks name is derived from novelist William Burroughs' description of the dark underbelly of glitzy New York City.

Vocalist and frontman Panther MacDonald lists an eclectic set of influences: Depeche Mode, New Order, Simple Minds, Echo and the Bunnymen, Joy Division, Early U2, as well as The Beatles and David Bowie for lyrical inspiration.

Bootblacks released their first EP, Narrowed, in the fall of 2012. Recorded with Brian Scott Herman, after previously collaborating with Jim Sclavunos (Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds). MacDonald, guitarist Alli Gorman, and drummer Roger Humanbeing recount the collaboration with Sclavunos as a "life-changing" one that informs Bootblacks music to this day.

Panther describes Veins, Bootblacks album released in 2016, as a step in the band's evolution from punk to post-punk. With their influences always expanding, the band is never complacent in what makes up their sound.

With the addition of Barrett Hiatt (The Harrow I Automelodi) in early 2017, fans can expect an even more synth heavy, atmospheric and "bigger-sounding" Bootblacks than before, with the followup to Veins set for release in early fall 2017 on Manic Depression Records, followed by a European tour.Fragments - TRACKLISTING

Death From Above Unveil New Album Outrage! Is Now Available September 8, 2017

DEATH FROM ABOVE UNVEIL NEW ALBUM  OUTRAGE! IS NOWAVAILABLE SEPTEMBER 8, 2017 Pre-Order Available  Here
Extensive North American Tour ConfirmedTickets On Sale August 18 At 10:00AM Local time
August 15, 2017 (Burbank, CA) - Death From Above have announced that their third full-length album Outrage! Is Now will be released September 8, 2017 via Warner Bros. Records/Last Gang Records. The album is available to pre-order as of today here. Listen and share the new album track "Never Swim Alone" here and watch the lo-fi video directed by singer/drummer Sebastien Grainger here. An extensive North American tour has also been announced, kicking off September 15 at Riot Fest Chicago and picking up again October 20 in Montreal, and includes an appearance at Phoenix Concert Theatre in their hometown of Toronto on December 1. Tickets go on sale Friday, August 18 at 10:00a.m. local time. For ticket information visit:  deathfromabove.com.  The tour comes on the heels of major festival plays this summer including Festival d'Été, Ottawa Bluesfest, Wayhome, and Osheaga.
The merry merchants of muscular death dance discord - Sebastien Grainger (vocals, drums) and Jesse F. Keeler (bass, keys, synths) - made a collective decision to embrace their own penchant for perpetual motion while gleefully maintaining the car-wreck intensity of their punkified disco rock. Ultimately, Outrage! Is Now confidently kicks off a new chapter for Death From Above.
"We are committed to evolution. This record is the sound of the two us pushing at the walls. We want there to be space, surprises and action!," says Sebastien. "We both wanted to see how far we could take our sound as Death From Above. In a way, that has always been our objective," adds Jesse.
The two began pondering what became Outrage! Is Now while in the midst of finishing their 2014 record, The Physical World. Marking a sweaty and triumphant return after a near 10-year studio hiatus, their sophomore outing would be met with critical acclaim from Rolling StoneLos Angeles Times,Monster ChildrenUncutAlternative Press, and KERRANG! who awarded it a rare perfect score. The Physical World spawned fan favourites such as "Trainwreck 1979," which generated an impressive 12 million Spotify streams to date and "Virgins" was another to crack the 5-million mark. As they retreated to Jesse's farm two hours east of Toronto to write in 2016, the musicians re-examined the way they've written in the past. They found new ways to start ideas, and tried to exorcise their old demons. With a host of demos, Death From Above headed back to Los Angeles to work with producer and engineer Eric Valentine (Queens of the Stone Age, etc.). Making for what Jesse describes as the "fastest recording process," the vision quickly took shape.

"The myth of what we should be didn't exist anymore," Sebastien agrees. "There was never a moment where we took a conventional path-either writing or recording. Eric has been making records for decades and we managed to make him say: 'Well, that's a first' during every song! There was always some strange element thrown in. In a way it's a very serious record, but dressed in a really fun outfit."
The first single, "Freeze Me," is currently impacting the air waves and attracting headlines: "The new, piano-sample-driven track is a typical, serrated piece of Death From Above-branded dance-rock, with a fierce noise breakdown toward the end." - Spin
"It's a mixture of DFA's familiar clatter - Sebastien Grainger's battering ram drums, Jesse F Keeler's frantic, distorted bass guitar - mixed in with some 1990s house pianos." - Noisey / ViceThe track was featured on this season of HBO's Silicon Valley. The song's music video was directed by Canadian filmmaker Corey Adams in Los Angeles and premiered in June. Click here to watch and share "Freeze Me."

"There's an absolute chaos and confusion in the world, and people who would otherwise agree on most things seem to be disagreeing on everything," sighs Sebastien. "There's a lot more space between the poles of opinion and views on the world. It seems like there's a barrier of disgust as we dehumanize one another based on a few slight differences of opinion. The title is an observation of this hyper-sensitivity, which we're all a part of."
"I hope fans hear the progression," Jesse leaves off. "This record is very much the result of the environment and experiences of the last five years. If we didn't have struggle, life would be really fucking boring. These songs are an anti-boredom manifesto."

"Outrage! Is Now is meant to be felt on both a visceral and emotional level," concludes Sebastien. "We tried to make something that excites and surprises. Our journey is that of enlightenment and seeking truth. There's enough fiction and meaningless distractions in the world to make you totally shut off. We hope this record turns you on."

HEADING TO AMERICANAFEST & EUROPE
RODNEY CROWELL PRODUCED ALBUM, BLACK IRISH OUT NOW
“There is something for every roots-loving, singer-songwriting fan in these dozen tracks. With any luck and the right promotion, it ought to move Shannon McNally to the forefront of
Americana artists, where she clearly belongs.”
American Songwriter

"Black Irish shows McNally’s range as an artist – her ability to be soulful, sultry,
introspective and tough in her songwriting and singing."
No Depression
“McNally is back. Enjoy her wondrous voice and the effervescent spirit of this album. She proves to be, not surprising to those who are familiar with her catalog, a terrific interpreter in the vein of Emmylou and Linda Ronstadt.”
Elmore Magazine New York, NY (August 15, 2017) – Shannon McNally recently released her Rodney Crowell produced album, Black Irish; a turning point in the singer/guitarist's career and the result of recent years of hardship and finding hope through a musical counterpart.

Shannon's music has received praise from critics and colleagues alike as Shannon performed with Willie Nelsonand The Avett Brothers at the Ray Benson Birthday Bash appeared on Good Day NY and WFUV, gigged regularly with her cohort Charlie Sexton, toured w/ Stephen Stills and Kenny Wayne Shepherd and has been praised byAmerican Songwriter, No DepressionElmore and more. This week she heads back out on the road in support of the album for a run of dates on the East Coast that heads to AmericanaFest in Nashville and extends to Europe in the fall. A full list of tour dates can be found below and you can catch a glimps of Shannon's live show with the performance of "I Went To The Well" recorded live at Ground Zero Blues Club, Clarksdale, MS courtesy of our friends at Pass The Pick Productions. The primary colors of American music are black and white, and Black Irish displays that hybrid in many shades, mixing country, blues, soul, rock, folk balladry and classic pop.
Shannon co-wrote three of the album’s 12 songs – one with producer Crowell, who also penned two more for her; the rest include personal favorites by Stevie Wonder (“I Ain’t Gonna Stand For It”), Robbie Robertson (“It Makes No Difference”), J.J. Cale (“Low Rider”), Muddy Waters (“The Stuff You Got to Watch"), The Staple Singers (“Let’s Go Home") and more. The result is an album that stands with the best of classic vocal interpreters like Linda Ronstadt, Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris and Maria Muldaur.

Happy Hollows Debut "Meteors" w/ Buzzbands.LA, Announce LA Show 9/29, 'Concordia' Out 9/8

Happy Hollows

Buzzbands.LA Debuts New Album Cut  “Meteors”
Announces LA Show 9/29

Third Studio Album Concordia  Released  September 8

" ...distinct echoes of The Cure, the Banshees and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, while Sarah Negahdari’s theatrical vocals are a mix of Siouxsie Sioux anxiety/sexuality and Bat for Lashes enchantment." –  Blackbook

"while still sounding nostalgic for ‘80s acts like Blondie and Siouxsie and the Banshees ... it's obvious that with this record, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Metric had more of an impact on [the band]" –  Interview Magazine

"Sarah Negahdari [is] a powerful but economical guitarist, jutting in and out of the tracks like a jagged saw." –  Pitchfork

“Instantly catchy shimmering pop hooks are just what you need to get the weekend rolling.”– Nylon

“A killer hybrid of Kim Deal, PJ Harvey and Emily Haines, Negahdari has guitar chops, explosive energy and a winning sense of humor.” –  Wired

LA art-punk outfit, Happy Hollows, were founded by two polar opposites — bohemian California native Sarah Negahdari, and Washington, DC Ph.D. student and bassist Charlie Mahoney. The duo debuted new dance-y album cut “Meteors” today via Buzzbands.la. A playful track about harboring emotions to the point of explosion, the track’s bass, drums, guitar, and electrifying vocals were recorded in one live take at Sunset Sound. The duo previously debuted album track “Silent Partner” with  TIDAL , and premiered the music  video for album cut, “Feel The Moon”  with  Blackbook .

Stream “Meteors” HERE

Happy Hollows’ magnetic stage presence and striking musical chops put them on the map when they released their critically acclaimed debut album,  Spells  in 2009. The twosome met at a strip mall where Sarah was working as a tarot reader just after Mahoney had relocated to LA. The band would go on to spend the next couple of years transforming into a staple of LA’s underground music scene, touring across the country with indie-favorites like Lucius,JapandroidsSilversun Pickups, Deerhoof, and Wavves. Two albums later, Happy Hollows are back with a brand new album, Concordia due out September 8th. If you’re in LA, you can catch the band playing at The Satellite on 9/29.

Concordia celebrates Happy Hollows’ evolved sonic aesthetic, showcasing analog synth melodies, polyrhythmic drumming, and angular guitars. The duo enlisted the help of Los Angeles producer Lewis Pesacov (Best Coast) and London producer and mixing engineer Gareth Jones (Grizzly Bear, Depeche Mode, Interpol, Liars). The collection represents the peak of Happy Hollows’ artistic progression, combining the live dynamism and energy of their early releases with the creative sonic palette and layered synth arrangements of their recent work.

Lucy Rose: Unveils new video, Fall North American tour with Paul Weller

CONFIRMS NORTH AMERICAN DATES WITH PAUL WELLER
Photo credit: Laura Lewis Photography“…she is at her best at her most intimate, albeit with a new gust of openness
from her far-flung adventures.” ★★★★—Q Magazine“Something’s Changing is a culmination of much-welcomed growth for Rose. She has the ability to make listeners feel: when she’s struggling to find comfort in her own skin,
finding joy in life and questioning her path. Her most recent body of work shows Rose finding her sense of self, but makes it relatable to listeners. It’s that connection that solidifies Rose’s career on the folk world.”—Paste Magazine“With songcraft and performances on point here, Something's Changing is Rose’s most exquisite album to date and her most moving.”—All Music Guide Lucy Rose unveils the video for her new single “Second Chance” from her third album Something’s Changing  (out now on Arts & Crafts.) The video stars British Olympic Gold Medal winning cyclist Elinor Barker and is directed by Joe Conner (Coldplay, Elbow, The Maccabees). Watch and share the video HERE.
Rose will tour North America this fall with Paul Weller performing special solo acoustic or trio sets. She’ll be postponing her headlining tour until early 2018. Please see dates with Weller below. Rose explains “Second Chance was inspired by a conversation I had with my husband’s great aunt on New Year’s Eve. She was looking at an old photo of herself and said ‘Look how lovely I was! It's funny that I could only think that now of myself as an old lady. Looking back, but at the time, I would never have thought that’.”She further explains “It really struck a chord with me as I can definitely relate to that. So, I decided from that point onwards that I wanted to use her hindsight and learn from it and see myself differently. Love myself for who I am and not wish to be anything different.” Something’s Changing is accompanied by a “fly-on-the-wall” short film documenting her first tour of Latin America last year, a trip that was independently organized by Rose with the help of her fans. The tour was the inspiration for the record and the film serves as an intimate account of this process. View HERE.Rose embarked on the making of Something’s Changing following her tour for her second, critically acclaimed album Work It Out. Over time, she noticed a steady stream of tweets reaching her from Latin America, and the unlikely statistic that geographically her music was most popular on Spotify in Mexico City. It gave birth to the seed of an idea that became a real labor of love over the next six months. Lucy offered her fans in Latin America a deal: “If you book me a gig, I’ll come and stay.” For two months Lucy, with her guitar, a camera and her backpack, toured Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Brazil and Mexico, playing free shows, staying with fans and “falling back in love with making music.” The documentary of her experience there was inspired by “the kindness and faith in music of those she met including fans blocking the street outside a gig above a launderette, trying to sleep on endless inter-city bus rides and living with families in out-of-the-way towns.” Rose’s husband Will Morris filmed as much as the experience as possible along the way.Rose says, “The documentary is a big part of this record. I think it explains why that trip was important and why it lead to me making the album that I’ve made. The trip gave me confidence to do things like record in just one take and the songs came more easily.”With the insight gained during her travels, Lucy set out to make the third album on her own. Through friends she began a collaboration with Brighton producer Tim Bidwell, and in his home studio found the ideal place to explore songs for a new album. Every week Lucy would take the train to Brighton and created the new album in a mere 17 days. The record also contains contributions  from Bidwell, in-house bassist Ben Daniels and drummer Chris Boot as well as guest appearances by Daughters’ Elena Tonra, Marcus Hamblett and Matthew and The Atlas’ Emma Gatrill. On two tracks vocal harmonies are provided by The Staves (“Floral Dresses” and “Is This Called Home”).“The songs just came more naturally after that trip, from feeling good and from learning so much about myself,” adds Rose. “I feel more comfortable in my own skin than I’ve ever felt in my life. So there is a lot of searching as well as a lot of discovery on this record.”LUCY ROSE TOUR DATES*all dates with Paul Weller October 1—Huntington, NY—The ParamountOctober 2—New York, NY— Irving PlazaOctober 3—New York, NY—Irving PlazaOctober 4—Philadelphia, PA—Theatre of Living ArtsOctober 6—Boston, MA—House of BluesOctober 7—Washington, DC—Lincoln TheatreOctober 8—Cleveland, OH—House of BluesOctober 10—Toronto, ON—The Danforth Music HallOctober 11—Detroit, MI—St. Andrews HallOctober 12—Chicago, IL—House of BluesOctober 13—Minneapolis, MN—Pantages TheatreOctober 16—Vancouver, BC—Commodore BallroomOctober 17—Vancouver, BC—Commodore BallroomOctober 18—Seattle, WA—The NeptuneOctober 20—Sacramento, CA—Ace of SpadesOctober 21—Berkeley, CA—The UC TheatreOctober 22—San Francisco, CA—The FillmoreOctober 24—Anaheim, CA—House of BluesOctober 25—San Diego, CA–House of BluesOctober 27—Los Angeles, CA‑ The Wiltern
