This is my first foray into a robin hobb book, and I have to say that this is total crap.What's the big deal?She's supposed to be some kind of great author and this is just a whole bunch of exposition that harkens back to other exposition.In our super passive narrative voice.

Blecccchhh. dnf.

In my first reread of this book, and it's probably been like ten years, luckily, I don't remember all the details, and this book is just as incredible as it was the first time, if not more.
I was just reflecting on the fact that this series has changed the way I read books. I no longer have tolerance for books that aren't written well and I dnf easier.

Whew! The descriptions of violence in this book are quite effective and making me inwardly cringe.

Abandoned pretty early. It was clearly super cheesy and yeah, a cartoonish level of believability.

I don't have the words to describe this particular it's the type of story that drones on in a certain tone... wear no detail, it's elevated above any other detail.. i'm the names just lose any relevance. I can only say I don't like it.

Just a perfect amount of magic. Some intrigue. This 2nd book from this author is making me a fan of his.

If I had to complain. The plot keeps Hanging on a premise where ppl dont speak to each other about secrets or theyre cagey about stupid things. It is a weak trope that is way overused. But thay complaint is nowhere near bad enough to affect my enjoyment of the story.

Definitely improves a lot. Gets interesting.

This is one of those books that adds intriguing, beginning, and it intriguing mending, but the middle is super boring... i really hope some aspect of it picks up a little bit

Oh boy, we've veered up into magic, black man trope.

Okay now I'm impatient for the payoff. No idea what the deal is.

In my mind, this is officially now a page turner. So happy I decided to buy this blindly. Can't wait to proceed with this series.

This is enjoyable. Respect to the author for making it mysterious enough But also interesting on every page!

And another thing that this author is exceeding it in my own personal opinion is Keeping the characters their very own unique and distinct voices. Every character does not seem like just aspect of the author like some writers do. You can tell that this author's good at characterization.

Many paragraphs spent on modern day political correctness, and how to speak about racism.

And then I'm so tired of books overanalyzing this especially fiction books. These are my escapes from the everyday monotony and drudgery of stupid shit.

I'm always so surprised when authors. Write a book and choose to focus the plot on some of the most mundane uninteresting aspects of their premise. That seems to be what's what's happening? Let's here.I hope i'm wrong.It's still kind of early

Okay. So it had a really promising start and a great premise, but so far, that's what we are right. We're relegated to some very uninteresting. Updates from these time travelers, not a whole lot to really spark any interest and also including the stupid.White people don't like seasoned food meme. The author is enjoying the smell of hwr farts a little bit too much

This author desperately needs to work on her storytelling talents. She's good all these little vignettes of cool different things, but jesus, they're also disconnected and confused.

So the author is doing a great job of writing some wonderful scenes. Better intriguing and funny, gripping and make me want to turn the pa. But I'm sitting here wondering if I missed some key plot points, or if it really is, yeah, it's a vague why? All this is happening to the main character. What's his motivation?And also, why are all these divine events happening around him with royalty and gods? Because right now

I really enjoy the tone of the prolog and the opening chapter.I have the feeling that if this keeps up it's going to be a good book fingers crossed

Yeah, this is gonna hit my limit for a romance/smutty book for the year.

But it is what it is nothing more. Nothing less. It's a fantasy, it's fun, it's weird, it's depressing.It's entertaining et cetera.

Its so wild and simply sexual compared to the books I always read. Quite enjoyable in a different way. The narrators are do8ng a great job

Oh, apparently.I have abandoned this but before and I may have no recollection of that... so I started it again, and I'm noticing now that this narrator is getting on my nerves for him. A ton of mispronunciations. We'll see where it goes.

I can tell this is gonna be a book that I really don't give a shit about. So i'm going to abandon it early before.I feel like i've wasted more time.

I don't know.The first chapter is neat, but it's starting to seem like this is gonna be a boring story.

Yeah, it's nice to be back in this universe. Reading this series again. The prose is it's quite simple and straightforward. We're not doing anything flowery, purple pros here which it really kind of works to its benefit. The story is an interesting one picking up with a familiar character called hamitch.

A lot of positioning in this book so far.

Very easy to understand prose.

I'm still in M's early life. And this is my least favorite part of her life. I just like the music! Let's get to the stories behind the music.

I will say this narrator is a little amateurish. She's mispronouncing multiple words. And the words aren't even that difficult. Like, take the time to look up words you don't know! Jeez.

The narrator is kinda talented but he mispronounced way too many words.

Very interesting premise! Seems well written too.

I gotta tell you.The first few chapters are pretty exciting and i'm really liking this.... i'm really hoping this author doesn't make it boring or get too far into little personal relationships... he should keep it focused on the fun action and the suspense and the 3 thriller aspect. Here's to hoping.
