There's a great story here. But Noon's prose is... more complex. It's like he's an author for authors, not for readers.

Nope. I'm returning this for a refund. The main character is obviously then written by someone who's a fox news additlct. It's so goofy. The things Fox makes their followers fear is just s hilarious as it is depressing.

Like. Grow a brain, people. Please.

Uh oh. Is this a book by a Fox News fear monger person?

It really sounds like it. Gonna return it to audible if this author is one of those fake news addicts that is dearly afraid of a vaccine that saves lives.

Yes, I'm noticing from seen to scene. Characters change attitudes. And they conveniently forget things, and their motivations that were just discussed several chapters before.... This is very obviously done by the author for dramatic purposes. But just smacks of pour proof reading to me.

And looked there's a lot of inconsistent right in some of the characterization. And places... lacy writing

Why so many parts devoted to periods and tampons? This is a fantasy novel on a weird madeup world based on a game... lord. Fast forward.

Far far far too many unnecessary scenes.

Crap. Are all good characters in this book female and all bad are male? Lame writing.

Ugh. And now he's, of course, the absolute best chess player in the whole university.

Finally get into a park that is revealing. Hey, deeper mystery. It's kind of interesting.

A little too YA to be great. But still some very enjoyable parts.

Shaping up to be a slightly better written Suneater... I have hope this book will love up to the hype.

Ok I'm good with the start. I'm hopeful. Easy enough to follow so far.

Usually, I dislike action scenes in books. Just because I zone out, not because I don't like them.

But Larson writes them really well. He keeps it interesting.

Standard for ye series. Enjoyable.

Thinking about the narrator. He's perfect for the characters in this book.

This author is a storyteller... Such a cool skill. She really knows how to write characters. And their voices and and them all sound very unique and quite compelling in their own ways.

Very much falling apart. Meh. Boring now.

Well, it's too bad. It doesn't stay very good. There are portions that dip almost into fever dream territory. Perhaps when burrows is famously known for dipping into drugs. Really surprised at the amount of gay sex in this book.

Cute story. Very well narrated.
