Nothing like following up Anne of Green Gables with a book like this. I'm still not entirely onboard with his writing style, but it doesn't get in the way of the story at all. Its terse writing does make everything seem so immediate.

Looking forward to actually completing this in a reasonable time frame.

Yeah it took me way longer than it should have to an embarrassing amount. Between online class, a really intense video game, and me being unable to concentrate because of the horrific news out there, it took me a while. I loved the hell out of this book nonetheless, though my enjoyment was marred by the time I took

Planning on binging this book soon on account of lost time and it being a children's book.

But this book is SO good. My heart hurt really hurt when it came to her and the possibility of missing her school's picnic.

Have not felt this much joy reading through a book since I read the first Harry Potter book. This book is so whimsical despite being realistic. Anne is such an adorable human being. Man this book is great.

(yes I'm reading slow, summer classes that are accelerated assign a LOT of work and I just got sidetracked and am PAYING the price)

This is the last book I expected to voluntarily read for the summer, but it's also perhaps the biggest surprise of reading so far.

This book about a young girl, living on a prairie, in the middle of nowhere, may be creeping up to be one of my favorite books I've read in a while from the charming opening alone.

It took me a year to finish this short book, but finally I did it and it was worth it. My only complaints are that it misses Daedalus' myth (one of my personal faves) and King Minos and the Minotaur. Can't have every myth I guess.

Also he really messed up Eros and Psyche's ending. I will always thank for kindling my fascinating with Greco-Roman myths.

The last required reading for this class. Thought it would be crazy long to read, but it's actually really quick. Can read this under an hour if I wasn't taking notes.

Also this author goes to UT Austin. So that's cool.

Oh boy did I rush to finish this.

It was a good book. It is well researched, but it does get repetitive to read.

Book is a lot more interesting than I anticipated, but still a little on the dry side.

So many people have committed legal crimes against humanity and it just makes me sad. Reading about North Korea just makes me depressed.

Reading this for class; the only things I've been reading are for class. Procrastination and lack of motivation have really sucked away my free time.

I have a little bit more, but nowhere as easy as I expected it to be. Shame.

And yes, I'm aware of the controversy surrounding this book.

This book has literally taken me 2 years to read because it's an anthology; I have no desire to read this outside of the times where I really want to drift off into sleep with light reading.

However this is cementing my love for Greek mythology. Highly recommend

I always manage to tear up at every HP finale so far. While this book is a little more flawed than the previous entry, it is the step in the right direction that the series should go. Still a fantastic entry and I am anticipating reading the next. entry... whenever that may be.

Got to the finale, slightly disappointed it got resolved with a near deus ex machina - but it was still a great battle. It's just odd because of all the things that were set up and paid off, this was the weakest of them.

I am impressed with Rowling's ability to meticulously plot everything with great payoff. Maybe a slight fumbling here, but I have no doubt later entries improve upon this.

All these Chekhov's guns firing off and all these hidden details being significant - great plotting. Sucks that I have to balance this with college work.

Not sure if I enjoy this much as the first on account of the first half, but that second half of the book really makes up for it and is a worthy contender for being better than the first.

This book really does pick up in the second half. It's great for completely different reasons from the first: the first was great for introducing the world and just having a sense of fun throughout without there being a plot until the end, while the second is almost an entirely well crafted plot.

Only if I could read the rest of the series without being bogged down by work :(

Oh so that's what they meant when they said the last act is great because DAMN. I audibly gasped when that line of chapter 13 hit.

The ending is about to get me HYPED

(I unfortunately have an idea who Tom Riddle is...bummer)

Was on track on finishing it today (four days left of break, 25% each day) but got sidetracked. Really hope school doesn't come in the way of me enjoying this book (but online classes shouldn't be too hard).

Will try to power through and get to that last act that supposedly brings this book up to another level.

Not as close to the greatness of the first but still really good (which I assume is not a very popular opinion).

No complaints so far except when comparing it to the first.

The quality SHOOTS up once they get to Hogwarts. Not sure if it's my expectations or just Rowling rushing to get to the good parts, but whatever, I'm enjoying reading the book now almost as much as before.

IT'S HAPPENING.

Honestly, liking it a lot less than the first (because the opening chapters of the first book were amazing so maybe not a fair comparison). Feels like just a bunch of plot getting out of the way but once the first act finishes up everything should pick up in quality.

Still I am very much hyped for what's next

IT ENDS ON A CLIFFHANGER :(

Still greatly enjoyed my time with the book and eagerly binged every page. However, most of it did feel like set-up with a LOT of exposition for the second installment. It's still fun but there was barely a plot up until the end. It's a lot less self-contained than I would like, but it was a good book.

All in one day.

It lacks the emotional punch the first book had, but still just remains as informative. However, I'm really really shocked that people acted like that. I got hella depressed when I read about the children marching.

It was good, but it felt more like a retelling of events rather than an emotional story.

I feel like I learned more than I felt.

Still a solid book, but I expected more emotion to come out from it.

Officially a Health Science Major now :)

Bless this book for keeping me sane in-between breaks. Will continue to read because it is able to tell the Greek mythos I enjoy without dumbing it down too much (with the exception of Eros and Psyche, it didn't tell half the stuff in the story)

I don't recall a time in my life where I have ever been this busy - have barely had any time to sleep let alone read a book.

However, picked this up again in-between breaks, after a year, after putting it down in favor of other things. I love Greek mythology still and this tells it in a way that is digestible and fun.

Solid read and a lot of the information was digestible, if a little dry as a result. But the ideas he says here are great - even if I disagree with them, he backs them up with so much evidence that you at least understand where he comes from.

Last section boys and girls and I have officially cleaned all the books off my palette. I finally found time to read a book, but unfortunately it's only between a class and a 2.5 hour lab.

And pray for my boy Andrew Yang because the DNC screwed him over in Iowa :(

I finally finished a book!

And yeah, it loves up to its criticisms. I don't feel like I got much out of this book - it was interesting to read, but the tangents this author goes on really makes it feel like I was missing out.

Not a bad book, but it fails to impress me on an even scholarly level.
