Marcus really doesn't mess around. So far I'm under the impression that dedicate themselves to something in order to make life meaningful, and to disregard all praise or criticisms while in the process. While its values can be a little outdated, the message he conveys holds up so well. It is so brilliantly written (translated?) with his brash, authoritative tone that it is such an interesting read.

Listening to this audiobook to pass the time with my brother (who is a BIG fan of the show Sherlock and was sorely disappointed by the finale). It is fairly predictable and even though the idea of listening to Sherlock fan fiction is a bit laughable, Cumberbatch NAILS delivering the story that I don't mind. I will definitely visit the OG stories once I'm finished.

I read this since I was in a really noisy environment, and since I have gotten into comics recently I decided to learn the essentials of the craft. So far this book overexplains things and puts them in a quirky way that makes it even more boring to learn about. Even though my enjoyment of this is questionable, it's mercifully short - therefore I'll probably finish this anyways.

Started reading for the thematic book club I'm reading (this month is essays (join if you want to!)), and skipped the introduction and biography to get straight to the essays like a heretic (though I intend to return to the biography to see if I get any relevant context).

Reading through it real slow because real life is getting in the way of things (and was reading another book simultaneously), so this may take a lot longer than I anticipated. But this book still continues to morbidly entice me, how it engenders sympathy for these cruel people, humanizing them but always putting us at a distance from being too close to them. I am so impressed with how this is being handled.

This book is actually a lot more interesting than I expected it to be wow. The way that Capote takes his time to develop his characters before the tragedy, describing their daily routine and their place in the town. The book is the best kind of a slow burn.
