There relationship was so great as well. I liked that there was never really any conflict between them, most problems they had were external and they faced them together. I liked that they became friends first too and that they helped each other grow. They were just so lovely together! The magic system was great and the side characters were all fleshed out too. I had goosebumps for the last 50pgs it was so good!

This book was excellent!I loved it pretty much from start to finish.I thought that Alessa was a really interesting character and I actually liked her a lot, which is rare for me.I liked that her power was to amplify others, thats not the classic hero ability which I thought was really cool.Dante was amazing! He was such a badass. He was so great and was the big badass man without ever being toxic which is refreshing

Very sweet quick little read. The two characters were fairly adorable and the art was lovely

The cast of characters were all fleshed out and intriguing, I liked that we learnt about them from Ern’s anecdotes. Lots and lots of twists and turns which was awesome. And I really loved Ernest as the lead. The final Poirot style wrap up was so good! Really enjoyed it! A very fun mystery. 4.5

This book was excellent! Its narrator was really fun and made me laugh. I liked that even though it was quirky and fun the mystery was still really good and tense and the sadder parts were handled really well. I liked how it acknowledged all the who done it cliches and turned them on their head a bit. And Ernest trying so hard to be reliable while still being an unreliable narrator was great.

I loved their journey though and how much they changed and healed throughout it. I also liked that there was an explanation for the loops and a solution but that we didn’t get bogged down with the why because ultimately it’s not that important. Really great read with some really lovable characters. A sweet, funny and heartwarming read about embracing all parts of life.

This was such a lovely book. It loved how you saw miles and Barrett go through all these different emotions in response to being stuck in a Groundhog Day situation. Confused, angry, fuck it embracing it, sad and tired. I liked how miles and Barrett made each other better, there love story was so beautiful and felt very natural and unforced. Seeing them try to make connections with others was heartbreaking at times.

In the end they were all just so dysfunctional and angry all the time which wasn’t fun to read. It was also a really slow story with so many pointless storyline’s that just took up space but changed nothing. A very disappointing story.

I didn’t care about Mox even remotely. The book had well and truly lost me by then. And the twist with the dark one wasn’t even shocking by that point you were just like sure that might as well happen. It was weird that she set up the 5 of them as a team and then was like nah Sloane needs no one and the others will hardly even be in this book. And the set up of the mystery of albies death was just abandoned I guess?

Which really sucks because Sloane dynamic with albie was the one I was most intrigued by. And just fuck ines I guess, for seemingly no reason she gets left behind in the dimension jump and only has a mention at the very end of the book. It becomes completely the Sloane show, where she just goes around doing whatever the fuck she wants despite what anyone else says usually specifically cos they said she can’t do it

Honestly so disappointed in this book. Part 1 was intriguing and set up some really interesting characters and then Veronica was like you know what scratch that let’s have a completely different vibe for part 2 with alternate dimensions?! What? That wasn’t even hinted at being a thing. And Albie just dies?! They made it seem real suspicious and then just abandoned that and hardly mention him ever again.

I lost pretty much any interest in this book at around part 2. I’m heavily skimming it to the end now. I thought at the start that Sloane was an interesting character but as it goes on she’s actually just a pain in the arse!! She gets shitty when people don’t agree with her because admittedly she comes off like a crazy person. Then just runs off to do it anyway which always makes the situation so much worse!

Honestly who even cares about this stupid alternate universe! I don’t care about any of this. Nothing is happening! There is just a bombardment of information about history and jewellery and architecture and stupid magic whistling in this world that is just boring! It’s like it’s just a world building exercise and oh by the way I guess the main characters are also here too but not in any way that matters.

I was really intrigued by this but it’s taken a weird turn in part two. Not really sure how I feel about it to be honest. Parallel universes seems like a very bizarre turn when I feel like there was already enough things happening in their own world to fill a book

These poor chosen ones. They’re just all so broken by the events with the dark one. It is kinda interesting how they’re all damaged in different ways though, they all responded to their lives in different ways.

Such a beautifully magical book. I can so clearly imagine the beautiful setting of this story and how wonderful the performances would be. I like how biased the story starts out with neither family actually speaking the truth. The romance between cluck and lace is beautiful, I love that they make each other wings in the end and leave their toxic families behind. They are both such great characters. 4.5 need to buy

I feel like every time they got close to a solution Peter would come in and cock it all up! Elvis going to meet with the godfather alone was pretty badass and I liked that the new head of the family respected cole at the end. The final shoot out was pretty badass too, elvis and joe were awesome. I loved the epilogue, the bbq and finding out joe has been seeing the lady from the 1st one was really sweet. 3.5

It wasn’t my favourite, I think because I didn’t like Peter or Karen it was hard for me to enjoy seeing elvis work his arse off on this case and them just being caught up in their own bullshit. And I don’t know I feel like this one was a bit grittier with how the mafia treated people and I didn’t love some of the roles elvis had to take on to deal with this case, and I feel like cole didn’t love it either

I enjoy elvis and joe trying to take on the mafia, and it’s interesting to see them off their home turf of LA and instead navigate New York. But I don’t really love either of their clients. Peter is a complete dumbass and is going to ruin everything and Karen is really hostile, understandably so, but still. I don’t know, I feel like maybe elvis hasn’t been able to really bond with them like he usually does.

I was just thinking about different characters approaches, I like that elvis is a badass but, he also uses his smarts a lot. Like how he’s trying to work out a deal with the mafia. Whereas Evan smoke for would be like oh you have a problem with the mafia? Not it I kill the whole mafia, problem solved. I love them both but I like that elvis’ solution is not always violent.

I forget how much I love these characters between reads but I do. This was a good one, I like Elvis and Joe’s interactions with the kids. There were a lot of players in this one which was interesting in the end when Elvis was trying to make a plan to sort everyone out. The ending was very good with plenty of badass moments. I love coles smartass persona but that he’s also very competent to back it up.
