I finally read this after watching the show, and both were really good. I think they’re were parts I actually liked better in the show but that’s probably because I watched it first. This was really fun though, a bit of a skulduggery vibe in the writing. I really liked the world building of how a ghost pandemic would affect society.

Elvis and literally everyone he interacted with in this one, his stupid clients, the receptionist, the police. I just feel like Elvis was constantly ready to throw down in this one. This one also felt a bit dated in some of its attitudes in a way the others haven’t, not even the first one. Elvis took this one real hard.Joe coming through when Elvis was having a bad time was sweet though. Not my favourite I must say

I’ll give this 3 stars because I liked the first half but then I feel like it just went off the rails. The yakuza and a child cult thing was pretty weird but the incest was just awful and too far! Also I know that that was awful but I still fricking hated the daughter character she was just bonkers and made literally every situation so much worse! Also there seemed to be an unnecessary amount of animosity between

This one was a bit of a oj Simpson kind of case where the killer gets away with it because of shifty legal loopholes. Cole takes on dodgey lawyers to help an old cop friend of Joe’s. Elvis is a bit scarier in these earlier ones when he’s interrogating people. I want to like Lucy but she’s just always shitty to elvis and I don’t like it. The ending to this one was good, not what you expected but pretty good!

This was a good one. When it opened with conspiracy theories I was skeptical but it went in a different really good direction. More of a investigative one than a shoot ‘em up one. I like how elvis connects with people and that they reference old cases and connections he’s kept. His relationship with Ben is really sweet and I can live with Lucy I guess haha. Jon Stone coming back was cool too.

This was kinda weird, I feel like it had potential and the gothic vibe was cool but I feel like you were just left hanging. It never really explained why the two of them were so special and I’m honestly still unclear on what the baddies plan actually was. And I really thought world jumping was gonna be a bigger deal. Colton was kinda interesting but laney was just a bit meh, also they’re fairly toxic tbh.

This book was absolutely bonkers! The gradual entanglement of the two characters and two stories was crazy. I really liked how messy it all started to get and that you never actually learned who was the author and who was the character. Madeline’s life completely spiralling and either going crazy or being gaslit by her husband was nuts. And Edward’s case was intense. The ending was crazy and went so off the rails!

-is with her husband at this stage in comparison to the start of the book. At the start they seemed goofy and loving if not perhaps passionate, now though with edwards influence they are always fighting and Hugh is secretive and angry. When Edward said he didn’t trust him was that because maddies subconscious didn’t or because Maddie is a character in edwards book?

Very tricky. It’s gradually getting crazier and harder to untangle the two stories with how much the two characters are altering and effecting each others story. Maddie writes crime books so Edward is stuck in a murder mystery but Edward writes literature about the human condition so Maddies story is all about introspection and her relationship with her husband. It’s interesting how different her relationship-

This was a lovely gift from ma. I thought this was really sweet. You could really feel how much he loved his kids in the amount of effort he went to to give them a little magic. I love all the characters he made up at the North Pole and all their crazy antics. The illustrations were absolutely gorgeous! There was something a little sad though about reading about all his kids slowly getting too old for Santa.

The jump to the section about America and the mormons was really weird at first, but once I realised it was the backstory of the killer it made much more sense haha. The wrap up was cool and the breakdown of Sherlock’s deductions are always great!

I really enjoyed reading about these characters from the original work having only watched movies about them. I liked it, Sherlock was a bit more crazy and excitable than other versions and less arrogant than I expected. It being written from Watson’s POV was cool. It was also much easier to read than I expected, I had thought it’d be like Shakespeare but it wasn’t.

This book was alright, I liked it. The two leads were pretty cute and the city walks they went on with games was cool. The struggling artist hit a little to close to home at times haha. The writing was a little weird, like I don’t know that every single thing has to be a letter metaphor, and who the fuck knows what sans serif is?! The whistleblower end was kinda weird but the epilogue was pretty sweet.

We’ve met all the other tributes now. Gotta admit there are parts that I think I actually prefer in the movie, like katniss seeing Peetas painting of Rue. They’ve kinda just blended in my mind to be honest haha. Katniss is pretty fricking hot and cold with Peeta sometimes though. And the Avox storyline’s are just so horrible I’m glad they left them out of the movies.

I’m really enjoying rereading this series and watching the movies with Rhibutt! This was really good, I feel like the movie hits most of the highlights but I like reading the fleshed out scenes in the book. I like katniss more than I remembered and Peeta is just the best! I like the progression of the two of them becoming closer.
