All the different relationships between the 4 main characters were great, it covered all the different kinds of love which was cool. Elogast was probably my favourite but the others were still great too. They fit a lot in considering it’s not a huge book. The ending was wild! Definitely keen to read the next one and see where they all go from here.

This was so good! A solid 4.5. I really really liked the world building, all the history of how the gods being physical beings would affect city’s and people was awesome. I liked that it was complicated as to whether the gods were good or bad. The characters were all great too. I’m a sucker for a good found family. They were all really interesting individually and I liked seeing how they grew close to each other

I liked the relationship between Mer and Fane, I liked that they became friends first before any kind of romance. Renfrew was an interesting character too, and his and Mers interactions were cool. I feel like it could have been fleshed out a bit more, we didn’t learn heaps about the rest of the crew but I still liked it. I didn’t love the thief but Mer and Fane were great. Lots of twists and turns at the end.

This was pretty good, it reminded me a little of this vicious grace. The magic and world building was really cool, their abilities were awesome, especially mer she had all the best bits of water bending, and the welsh mythology elements were really interesting too. I really liked Fanes character, I thought it was really interesting how he’d lived with the far so long he didn’t fit with the humans any more.

This one’s about dirty cops and gangbangers. The first half was a little slow but the second half was much more actiony with jail breaks and gun fights. The client was a bit annoyingly naive and the race stuff felt a little heavy handed but elvis is always great so I still enjoyed this. It was a reread but I definitely didn’t remember it haha.

Cal was definitely the best part. He was a very cool character who had the smarts and the badassery. I liked that he was also kind thought too, not just a brooding hero.

And cal and Lena. I liked how solid cal and Lena where, there wasn’t a lot of drama between them, mostly because they were too busy with the assassin mystery. I will say there was zero reason for them to be ‘18’ nothing about their characters was the behaviour of an 18 year old. I feel like this really could have been high fantasy rather than ya. The ending was a little rushed but overall I really enjoyed it.

I finished reading this on MegaN’s wedding weekend. I thought it was really good, I really liked cal, and it was cool to have a fantasy book centred around a male character I feel like a lot of the time it’s a woman, especially in YA. I liked the setting, that it was fiction but you could definitely get the historical influences. I liked the relationships between the characters, especially cal and his brother.

This was weird, and quirky and fun. I liked it quite a bit, the characters were all very colourful and I’m interested to see their dynamics grow and change. The main editor guy reminded me of the guy from black books, just an absolute mess of a person. I liked that Hannah got the hang of it all by the end too. Lots of funky weird supernatural lore too. There was a lot to set up but I’d be keen to read book 2.

This one was alright, I don’t know that I loved it. It just felt really slow, they’d do like one interview and then go home for the night. The characters were ok, miller was just a bit sad though, him talking to his dead wife was sad as hell. I liked the dancer side characters better than any of the policemen. It being a cliffhanger on his wife’s case feels way too drawn out too.

I thought that the world building was great too, I love the idea of a supernatural creature support group, and the immortals essentially gambling out of boredom. I liked that the immortal characters way of thinking was different to mortals, made it seem more real. I just really loved all of this story! The characters, world, structure and style was so good.

I really really loved this book! It was so good. I loved the characters and all the dynamics between them all, they all felt so fleshed out. I especially loved fox and his relationships with others, in particular him and death. I really liked the writing style too, it seemed a little weird a first but it worked so well. I liked that it jumped between past and present so you got to understand the characters more.

The characters were alright. The ending was pretty bonkers though. I feel like it had a really strong beginning and end, it was just the middle that was a bit boring but to be fair I’d also not had a lot of time to read so this book felt crazy long. Overall an interesting attempt at reading horror for me

I think I went into this expecting x files, and there was a little of that but the monster was so much more gruesome, like straight up horror shit!! It was a good story though, the passing was a little weird at times like the monster would be crazy scary and then they’d just walked around for a bit until it showed up again to scare the pants off everyone. The monster genuinely gave me nightmares so kudos I guess.
