The ending was very very good though, will and violet were amazing and the twist was great. I hate the stupid little child though and not looking forward to more of her. Also not keen for secret keeping and drama in the 2nd one but excited to see how it plays out.

I thought he was interesting in that he didn’t do a lot of magic or sword fighting but was still a really intriguing character because of his smarts and his leadership skills. Loved his and violet’s friendship! They were so solid and really just decided to be ride or die almost immediately. The stewards all dying was so fricking sad and a weird move honestly to kill off so many cool characters.

Didn’t super know what to expect with this one but I actually really enjoyed it. I liked it a lot, gave me classic Harry Potter or lord of the rings kind of vibes with the whole chosen one, battle of light and dark kinda thing. Actually it had quite a few lotr vibes with the wraithy things that used to be the old kings and the precious objects and such. I really liked Will, I thought he was a great hero

The end was tricky but overall I found this a slog to get through. The start in particular was so slow! Like it took over 100 pages for anyone to even die! I’m a bit disappointed but overall it was alright and I still like the bantery fourth wall breaking style but just not as good as the first one.

I liked all the family drama in the first one, this one just had a bunch of authors who were assholes to Ernest for no reason. And I don’t like his relationship with Juliet at all!
I feel like this one had so. Much. Talking. Everyone just talking about the case over and over and then a big Agatha Christie reveal we’re suddenly Ernest knows everything but we never actually saw him put most of that together.

Definitely not as good as the 1st one. I was surprised that there even was a 2nd because the first one seemed so solid as a stand-alone and maybe it should have stayed that way. This one just wasn’t as interesting, and I feel like Ernest was a bit annoying in this one which I definitely didn’t think in the first one.

This book is so good! I remember the first time I read it I really hated Joey because I felt like she upstaged Evan but knowing how far their relationship goes later I fricking love the two of them in this one. They’re just the best, and have so much growth together. Also I’d forgotten what an mvp Jack was, trying to help all the orphans get out. Badass Evan and such an excellent ending. Still a 10/10 from me.

I feel like Evan was just really tired in this one. I guess I’m happy he’s got his niece now but I don’t know, that whole family annoys me. And I’m not keen for the weird drama with Tommy in the next one.

I did like all the call backs to the old characters though, like the forger chick from the 3rd one. Felt real weird that Mia and Peter weren’t even in it, feels like it’s moving past Mia as a character but that’d be a shame because I feel like we’ve invested so much time in that, and for Evan to lose Peter too would be sad. Joey and Evan were definitely the best bits of this,I love their relationship so much

Definitely not my favourite, it was extremely bleak and a bit depressing. I came here to see Evan kill a bunch of people not hear everyone’s depressing monologues on the philosophy of life. And I did not love all the AI and data mining stuff it’s just too real and upsetting to think about, I think between this and rewatching psycho pass it just really bummed me out.

I really liked the relationships between them all, severin and Tristan as brothers, and zofia and Laila was really sweet how she just understood all her quirks. The ending was bonkers too! Definitely keen to read the others but I think they could be a bit more serious/sad.

Finally got around to reading French six of crows. Really enjoyed this, the characters were all awesome! I was definitely a bit confused about all the babel fragment stuff but I loved the characters enough that it didn’t matter. The forging magic was really cool too, reminded me of the magic in the night circus, very pretty. Severin and laila were my favourites but I really liked all the others too.
