I really need this after an unnecessary angsty read with plenty of heartache and emotional distance.

Hating this so much... Wasted time, infidelity, resentment and hurt, where's the romance here? Did I get the wrong genre??

Sky level angst, hate that feeling!

I have a sore spot for humilliation in any form, that plus streight angst and heartache.... no no no.

I hate it so intensely when the hero is set on hurting the heroine while he's supposed to be also falling in love. It spoils any HEA and pollutes all hope for a future.

This is very oldschool in the sense that there's a rapey element going on...

My heart is being wrung with so many feels, going in all directions here.

A bump on my reading is when one of the main characters consciously and willfully chooses something over his/her love interest, I just don't see it can be repaired after that.

Stuck not reading this for some reason...

I like the tone and the characters, but still there's something off for me, I have low tolerance for heroes or heroines deciding to sacrifice/hurt/damage the person they are in a relationship with for the sake or whatever grand ideal or honorable purpose; so I'm almost at the end here and hope everything will solve itself without much moral betrayal.

The initial plot is convoluted and the style keeps hinting at missing pieces which males me wonder whether I'm following correctly or not... Quite enjoyable so far.

After a long and very enjoyable ride with the Mackenzies and McBrides, I'm not feeling this one so much, maybe I need a short break before picking it up again...

Love the series, outstanding characters and compelling stories. Only this time I don't know the writer is going to gift wrap the notion of Hart's depravities in the past, his mistakes with the heroine and make it believable that he has true feelings now. It will be interesting...

Fantastic so far !! The Mackenzies are quite something, and Ian is a fascinating character.

So, the promise is really silly, but the rest is very hot ;)

All the scheming is very House of Mirth, which is not a good thing right now.

This business with the heroine's mother is quite sordid it seems... Dislike !

Exchanging kisses for favors (in a serious manner) is not sitting well with me...

Why is Simon not elegible by a hopeless, pennyless, almost-spinster??
