At just a little halfway through, I'm dropping it. I heard nothing but wild praise for this series and the characters within, but after 200-something pages, nothing has happened, and every character talks and acts EXACTLY alike. There's no real world to get lost in and the characterization is extremely lacking.

I am legitimately happy to be back in the realm of epic fantasy; A grimdark one at that! It's a bit more character focused than some I've read which is making learning about the world in which it's set in a tad more difficult than I am used to, but the characters thus far - Jazek, Ardee, Glokta and Logen Ninefingers - are all very likeable in their unique ways.

I've less than two weeks to finish this now if I want to still hit my goal of finishing by Halloween. I can't tell if I am just being slow about it or if it is really just that dense. Having a great time with it nonetheless, though.

Even though it's still October and I am barely halfway through IT, I am already thinking of next year's reading theme.

Sanderson. Brandon Sanderson. Cosmere in particular. I wanna be a up to speed on EVERYTHING Cosmere when Stormlight 5 comes out.

Was really hoping to be at the halfway point by now, honestly. Getting a hour or two a day downs seem to be enough.

Finally getting into the real meat of the book now as the first wave of adulthood chapters end and we get into the daily life of the cast as kids living in Derry.

The last six books I read were the build up to the big one at the official beginning of the spooky month. Been attempting to read IT for literally years now, and so now I am finally gonna make good on that.

Need a movie. Right now. Someone needs to make a movie based on this book.

In the right hands, this would make a great movie.

Legitimately frightening first chapter.

Will have this wrapped up, potentially, tomorrow morning.

I must have blacked out somewhere in the last few chapters because a character has disappeared and can't recall any instance of it happening.

There are some genuinely eerie moments in this book. I've been sitting here in my car the last 40 minutes, taking in the early autumn breeze and sipping away at pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks and just taking in the bleak atmosphere this book is giving off.

I don't quite think I have encountered a book like this before; Something that is so weirdly written and hard to follow, yet still be so engrossing. I had considered dropping a few times already, but every time I did, something spooky happened and I was drawn back in.

It's been interesting at the very least, but I am absolutely struggling with the way it's written.

The plot isn't quite in gear yet, but the characters are entertaining at least. Not a fan of the way it's written though as it is kind of hard to follow at times.

What an absolute bloody good book.

Easily the best werewolf novel I've read yet.
