Valente needs to check her whimsy meter again, as it's running a little heavy in here. Let me tell you, giant lists and descriptions of objects some are okay but every scene spending more than half a page on description is going a little over board. I like this novel but I'm more than halfway through the book wondering where the plot is?

Surprising, yet NOT surprising betrayal occurred. I'm right there with September feeling hurt and sad and lost and frustrated. It's good for her though, not to have an easy peasy adventure where everything is handed to her. I like that she looses her temper and makes mistakes. Makes her far more relate able. Good job Valente.
