The romantic interludes with the male love interest keep breaking the tension. If the main character stopped pitying herself and thinking about his bright blue eyes and manly real cotton tshirt maybe shit wouldn't have gone down. I don't need a loveable or even likable protagonist-I just need a compelling one and I'm struggling right now.

I'm trying to have sympathy for the main character, as the author clearly wants me to. But her suicidal, antisocial tendencies that are threatening her crew's health and sanity -piss me off rather than make me feel bad for her. I agree with the designated "antagonistic" character. Just because YOU have no where to go-doesn't mean no one else does lady.

Re-reading this book along with an audible narration. It's been a long, long journey-starting with this story way back on FictionPress and following Maas's career from pre-to official publication. Even then I thought I sensed potential in the writing I saw with a few tweaks and a professional eye. Now it seems it came true in Spades. Let's see if I'm still as fond of this as I was about 20 years ago.

So far this is really, REALLY well done. The online media/text messaging/reddit post style really fits the "Analog Horror" themes of the original creepypasta 4chan meme. So far I have only one complaint, the missing girl's Father is a "famous" "gynecologist to the stars. Which I honestly cannot buy unless he's a Doctor Oz type figure who goes on television to give outright quackery advice for money or similar.
