The handling of POV feels a bit weird, but this is pretty good so far.

This got like hugely better once he found the guy. But still I was ready to DNF it last night, then this morning read some more, just out of curiosity really. One big problem is a lot of the humor is really about the whole "Action Centre" thing, and if you've worked in Corporate America, that will seem very familiar. But guess what, I DON'T WANT my entertainment to remind me of my JOB!

Started this last night when I felt like DNF'ing Only Forward. Pretty compelling opening, even if Helen isn't entirely likable.

I find myself thinking of all the other books I could be reading instead of this one... I mean, it's funny, and I vaguely like Stark, but there's like nothing at stake and I really don't CARE about Stark or anything in this story so far.

ugh, what a tone deaf, melodramatic in the worst way, rambly wrap up ending.

Now it just feels as if we're using sentences because we like them, who cares if the meaning or implication fits with what we've already written. And don't think I didn't notice the shitty little retcon there either. This is going down hill.

I can understand an overabundance of sex scenes when they're explicit, but I am baffled by the overabundance of these not quite fade-to-black PG13 ones... wtf.
