It's pretty much just curiosity at this point. Very juvenile.

Obvious villain is obvious. But I appreciate the effort the authors have gone to to make him a well rounded character. He doesn't just refer to women as sweetheart and bitches, he also hates scientists.

If this ends with Ean marrying the princess OR leading a group of Linesmen in song I am going to barf.

I really don't know what to make of the writting here. :/ It's kind of cornball, and feels more like something written in the 70s (or earlier) not by two women in 2015. They said "history tapes"! Tapes, ffs. The most modern thing about it is the whiff of cinnamon roll coming off Ean.

I like something about it though, enough to keep going, though damned if I know what.

Figured it was SF time since my last half dozen books have mostly been fantasy or urban fantasy. Not sure if I'll stick with this though. It's got kind of an old fashioned feel so far, with the "special" MC, but it seems not to be moving super fast as the authors feel the need to hammer every point home and aren't terribly skilled at hammering so it takes many many whacks.

I feel there has been a reduction in the excessive description for the last while. Griffin is probably saving it up to slap me in the face with later. Or maybe the story just finally said get the fuck out of my way and took off on her. But probably the first one ;)

Ugh, that's a couple hours spent applying some rough, basic tags to my "read" books. That was exhausting.

ok, maths: They're 28. The aesthetic here is kind of bizarre, like grown-ass man in a letterman's jacket is not hot, it's sad. very very sad.

Definitely getting a bit more Mature Audiences now.

So far this is way more what I want out of gay-YA-mystery than almost every other example I can think of. Occasionally it's a bit overwritten, excessive adjectives or word choices not believable for a 15 year old narrator, but only occasionally.

I like it. it's more ya and less crazy than i had expected. so far so good.

this is definitely not what I expected when I picked this up, but so far so good.

I feel like I'm supposed to recognize names and clues from flashback/dream to the next and connect the dots, but I am way too lazy for that. of course the implication that he maybe really is a god is fun but structurally seems way too early to be telegraphing that so hard if it were actually true.

slow but enjoyable

i wasn't expecting a second pov in this one for some reason.

wtf is it with books with "dreams" in them lately. so annoying. these seem like flashbacks though, since awake nameless narrator has no memory prior to start of book. also, it's Parker, so I'll go with it. my main worry is whether this is a complete arc with sequels or a 3 book single arc. :/ don't want to be let down by one of my favorite authors.
