Had a few misses w KJC this year, but this is off to a good start.

at least this book is going well

sometimes it be like, damn, that was a magnificent string of words, but i am confused because it all seems very contradictory. unless maybe the point is just pinky's a messed up pile of contradictions? idk

single pov so far, was kinda expecting vran to be the mc, but he's not the pov char. good so far though. i like isaac.

Was tempted to abandon this already, but I'll keep at it for a while, while reading other stuff as well, I think. The chapters are too long, and I dislike multiple pov, though very glad to be out of the first guy's. I like Ida, her section was the best so far. This is one of those authors where I've somehow acquired a bunch of his books without ever reading him.

k, opening felt like a bit of a misstep. ending of 9 had me expecting this to follow immediately after, but it's 6 months later, and very surreal to the point i thot i was reading a dream sequence. (few things i hate more than a dream sequence in books). very nice vonda moment after that, though it's not going to be her case it seems.

and obviously 2 book rule is officially suspended for this series.

This one's quite a bit different from any of the earlier books. So far at least. Much calmer feeling.
