This is hard to follow, at times, but I do think I'm getting a tiny something out of it, unlike the syntax book.

I didn't have a lot of expectations going into this, and still it's nothing like I expected. It's good, but it's also oddly detached feeling for a first person narrator.

This is weird, but I kinda like it.

This is really good.

This is 100x better written than your typical academic book, and a subject of great interest to me, and yet somehow much of it is as sleep-inducingly opaque and devoid of meaning as the worst academic writing. It took me 3 sessions to get this far. We'll see how it goes, but I'm not sure it's the sort of thing I can get much out of on a single read through.

I should really just start these first thing in the morning and not plan on doing anything else until I'm finished.

Ok, kinda rough as a first date, but Strovi was definitely flirting. Din seems shy tho. Still, more romantic potential than I was expecting 😁

The mystery is fine, but the worldbuilding is annoying. The parallels to AoT are distracting. I want more character dev, backstory for Din and Ana. Also a nice gay romance subplot for Din. I assume I won't get that last one... :(

First chapter was a little slow, but it has my attention now. I assume all the people comparing it to Sherlock Holmes are unfamiliar with Nero Wolfe.

Kind of regretted starting this this morning because it's so long and I just remembered something I've been waiting for comes out tomorrow, but we finally get the case in chapter 2, and the writing is excellent, so no complaints.
