I like the narrator, but the author uses some strange punctuation/sentence structure and it can feel weirdly random. Takes a bit of getting used to. Love the concept of the story, though.

Conversation feels a bit stilted and strange, but I like that the characters have issues to work out and they're determined to see those issues through with or without someone else in their lives (and indeed, marriage is not necessarily the goal).

The Flare = what in THE heck...seriously!?You're making Theon Greyjoy look smart.

The bitchiness back and forth between the women is beyond old (or really, now, coming from Ms. J to Caldwell). Mean girls, apocalypse style...

There's a great quote where Ms. J asks Caldwell if she wants her to punch her in the face again. Ah, lovely. I laughed out loud.

The second one I really loved was one guy's observation that Melanie isn't afraid of anything - she's like "a mouse barking at a pit bull." I would like a drawing of a mouse barking at a pit bull...

Another absolutely brutal, but human, book. It is so, so good and I feel I agree with the "must read" comments - it is a perspective/context building book, and it is heartbreaking, wrenching, unimaginable straight from the forward.

I have to admit I had no idea there was an Armenian genocide. This book is doing a wonderful job of bringing that to attention. The audiobook narrator is pretty good, as well - flipping through the physical book, I think that is a better fit for me, anyway.

Teen boy perspective, but I LOVE the premise of these people being trapped in a school and finding a way to survive.

The narrator grew on me - he was a bit dramatic earlier on. I've been loving this book, though - I can see where it's going, but I'm enjoying the trip.

I had initially thought this was a collection of women's individual stories about their experience of sports. The stories are there, of course, but they're less "individual" and more "woven into the narrative." I'm really liking it, but it is a slower read than I expected (granted, I'm reading it on work breaks!)

I am loving this - it has a more Graveyard Book/Stardust flavor than American Gods/Neverwhere. Dark without being overwhelming or too gritty (lightly gritty lol)

Holy feminist manifesto. This is great. Would have liked a different title, though - seems like I keep stumbling across books with Running and Girl in the title.

Each chapter is more of an article than a linear progression. He's got some great - articulate - points. Initially, the cussing/"creative name calling" in his letters made me start to dismiss him as another immature flapping mouth in the void, but continuing on, that settles down & I've really enjoyed what he has to say.

His books are so much fun. Lots of snicker-out-loud moments. I have to say, always, the narrator of the audiobooks is fantastic.

I don't think we were actually at 75% before...I think we've still got 14 hours of audio left! That said - I so love the assassin character, and I love the narration by Nick Podehl because he is EVERY kind of awesome at voices and accents and the narration of Kvothe. I'm kinda hoping that by the time we get enough weekend trips in to finish this, book 3 will be out and ready to go!
